"I’m rather enamoured by the unique flavour of online combat presented by Chivalry. It’s fresh and fun, and like the very best games is easy to get into yet incredibly hard to master."

About This Game

Besiege castles and raid villages in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a first-person slasher with a focus on multi-player. Featuring competitive online combat that seeks to capture the experience of truly being on a medieval battlefield. Inspired from the intensity and epicness of swordfighting movies such as 300, Gladiator and Braveheart, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare aims to bring that experience to the hands of a gamer.

The game is skill-based and controls like an FPS, but instead of guns and grenades, players are given swords, shields, maces, battleaxes and longbows. Set in a fictional, yet gritty and realistic world, players will fight in fast paced online battles besieging castles, raiding medieval villages and fighting for glory in the arena with up to 32 players.

Key Features:

  • Deep melee combat system provides players with a huge range of responsive combat options
  • Adjust your attacks and blocks in real time with the mouse for precise and full control of the action
  • Wield an arsenal of up to 60 brutal weapons ranging from broad swords and battle axes to longbows and javelins
  • Dynamic objective system brings team tactics and strategy to the forefront as players batter down gates, raid villages and assassinate enemy royalty to achieve victory.
  • Use a variety of siege weapons ranging from catapults, boiling oil, ballista, battering rams and more
  • Vast, lush environments that transport the player to a gritty and immersive medieval world.
  • Offline play options that allow players to gain familiarity with the controls and gameplay before being thrust into the action.

got this in a humble bundle awhile ago, really glad i did not pay more than a dollar for it. The premise itself is a good one however there where several issues with it for me.

-customization sounds like a good idea until you see it implimented. When everyone changes their clothing color it is extremely hard to tell who is an enemy and who is on your team. This is especially an issue for people who have issues with certian colors. There is no real way to see who your teammates are until you either stare at them (and often dont move), or kill them.

-Then you get vote kicked. it also does not matter if you have a decent/good score, youll still get kicked. Vote kicking is frequent in this game (like i see a vote kick on someone every minute or two) and it can be very hard for a new player to even finish a match because you are kicked out constantly.

-controls are not that great as well. half of the time i do the combo moves but they do not register.

-hitboxes are an issue. I have ran my sword through people without them taking any damage at all.

normally i would try the game more before making a review but i have no desire to. I know that other people like it but it's just not for me.

Skill gaps have made this game utterly unplayable past level 15 for anyone who hasn't poured hours into figuring out how it works. Don't bother picking it up if you expect to play after you leave the low-skill tiers.

Do you like being "killed by teammates" over and over again?
Do you like going on 1v1 and getting "backstabed" in the back by someone?
Do you believe that you could counter 2 handed sword with "butter knife"?

If Answer Yes To All Questions Then This Game Is For You!

combat is soooooooo slow, glitchy, full of team killers, and completely random. The community is filled with elitist pieces of trash who most likely spend their weekends playing this or LARPing

This game is awesome everything about is great except for one thing. The community. I just bought this game today and got kicked 3 times today. First was accidently killing a teammate, I did say I was sorry but I still got kicked, the third was because this guy couldnt kill me so he gave up and vote kicked me. If I do something that no one likes, they will vote kick you and you will probably get kicked. I could be in a game and randomly kicking someone they would probably be kicked.

If you like getting decapitated every time you attempt to block an attack then they feint the attack and attack again, this game is absolutely for you.

Aside from the stupid combat system that a stroke survivor could beat a professional at, the game has stupid microtransactions for useless ♥♥♥♥ that nobody wants. The maps are not skill based but are focussed on who can mass the largest clump of players at once.

Also prepare to be killed by your teammates more than your opponents.

this is an awesome game, with great graphics, cool battle moves, many classes, and with lots of fun in the multiplayer arena... im a bad player in this game, but its very enjoyable.

if you cant hit people with your sword, use your shortsword (or thowing daggers).
otherwise, try to master the art of the longbow...

good game!

This is a good game that I bought for £2.00 but the community is pure toxic it is the type of community you see on games like CS:GO my friend got kicked just because he was a new player on a server we joined almost all the servers are full so it makes it hard to find a decent server and not only that the community is full over over competitive idiots who basically kick you for no good reason I actually enjoy the game itself but the servers are just toxic I got kicked twice in a row for no reason even though I asked in the chat why kick?

If you are looking for a game for a nice community and good people to play with or just have a laugh about with this game is not for you.

Stabbed a Knight to death with a butter knife.
Poured oil on teammates from tower.
Teammates screamed as they were burnt alive while enemy knights rammed the gate.

12/10 would burn teammates again

Chivalry: Medievak Warfare isn't too bad off a game to say it was made October 16th 2012, yes the graphics are not the best but either is minecraft and that a massive hit, it has some Hiccups within the game but that just makes it alot more enjoyable and funny. I enjoy playing it with friends and joking around on it. It's hilarious at times and excessively gruesome. Over all I would recommend this game simply for the giggles I get when playing it.

This game used to be good, now, as a US west player, I can;t find a single server under 130 ping and in a game that requires fast reactions, any ping above 60 makes it impossible to do well.
