Something bad happened to us and the last of humans have been slain by evil robots. You are controlling THE LAST humanoid battle droid, slaying the endless hordes of mechanized beasts!

The fighting is very fast paced and explosive arena styled shooting, where the enemy comes after you in waves. Occasionally you encounter a bigger, more difficult boss droid. You can upgrade and fix your droid between waves, boost shields, buy various pets with different weapons etc. There's lots of cool stuff you can buy - if you have the money. I found myself being in constant lack of it and never really managed to unlock everything.

It's a fun game with a lot of hectic action. Sometimes I lost myself under all the light effects, explosions and enemy swarms and it felt like I was watching an ant hill under attack. But in game's defense, I've never been good at this type of games so someone with more 1337-powers surely saves the humanity in no time.

It's a very easily approachable and entertaining "Puppy Game" that doesn't disappoint.

Such a blast, this game is slick and fast. Its "Beserk" meets the stylings and sound effects of "Defender" with a huge amount of Smash TV. If you like your games with an electro retro feel and love manic gameplay, this one is for you.

Great game for people who just want to dip their toes into bullet hell games, it has a nice shallow learning curve, really lets you learn how to play. Overall i would give it a 8/10, great game would recomend.

This is a love letter to Robotron.

Ultratron is a twin-stick shooter that combines Robotron-style gameplay with upgrades and powerups. New enemies warp in as you clear a wave, dropping currency to spend on perks at the end of the level. There's also fruits that float by (a la Pac-Man), enemies that dashes swiftly through the battle that give you bonus points (a la Galaxian).

The graphics can get a little mushy. Sometimes, I don't know if that's a graphical flickering of the level or a enemy's projectile.

I love Puppygames. They are the masters at Retro-arcade games. Revenge of the Titan phenomenal, and Titans Attack is fantastic! Get those games as well!

Twin-Stick arcade shooter.

Could use a difficulty setting as it gets very hard very quickly.

Asking me to sign up to s̶p̶a̶m̶ a newsletter for a one time in game bonus is pretty cheeky. The fickleness of the bonus, its random nature (max shields is far better than a starting drone) and the fact it is only 1-time is both upsetting and badly explained by in the in-game instructions.

Shooter pet is a beginners trap even worse, its the first pet you have access too. If its range was doubled it would be balanced with the other two pets but on it's own merits it is never worth buying.

Music is great, check out the soundtrack: http://allicorn.bandcamp.com/album/ultratron-ost
Control is fluent and perfect and it works with both a PS3 & Xbox controller.

Apart from some minor issues the game is as fun as other twin stick shooters and if you enjoy those, you will enjoy this.

This is the first review that I felt compelled to write. I never heard of this game until I saw that the soundtrack was recently released. The story concept and art style was really appealing and I read some good things about this developer, so I decided to pick the game up. I was pleasantly surprised. This game is a really fun throwback to retro arcade games from the 80's. You play as a 'good' robot that must avenge the human race and kill all the 'bad' robots in increasingly difficult levels, with a few boss battles in between. The gameplay is easy to get into, but difficult to master like any good retro-style game. The graphics look great, and successfully blend in some nice modern visuals into its retro style. The powerups are really cool and make you feel powerful. Good play will reward more currency and you can buy upgrades. The user interface is easy to navigate and looks really nice. It's very simple to upgrade your robot, and not confusing at all. The audio fits the game's story very well -- the sound effects and robot voices are perfect and the music is really awesome too. The music ramps up in intensity as you progress through each level, and it really fills you up with a sense of impending doom as you blast wave after wave of evil robots. I bought the soundtrack too. Seriously, thumbs up on the audio design. It really lives up to the art style. This game is all killer, no filler. There is zero fat on this game. It's one of those gems that you are glad to find and have in your collection. I got Titan Attacks too, which looks great and I can't wait to get into!

This is a great game, I love the fact that you can get a gun upgrade just by giving them your email, This is certainly a game for people who like arcade birds eye veiw arena shooters, see if you are reading this and you have played Realm of the mad god, this game is like that but better because it is also like that old sky raiders game with the ailens that you shoot out of the sky (sorry I don't remeber the name of the game), so honestly if you want a great arvade game, get this!

Lots of fun. Cross platform. Easy to start, hard to master. Two thumbs up. Reminds me of robotron 2084 a little. Pick this up for some casual fun blasting evil robots.

Pretty nice pixel wave-shooter, cool bossfights and 3 bonuswaves.

The game goes endless (I think) and gets harder with every level.

It repeats itself pretty fast tho and I think the price is a bit to high for it.

I'd give it a 8.5/10!

retro aesthetic twin-stick (or no-stick if you use mouse and keyboard controls) shooter with purchasable upgrades between levels. soundtrack is decent. my only problems with the game are that it is sometimes hard to tell between friend and foe projectiles and sprites blend in with the background too well, although these may have been a conscious design decisions

Bit of a classic isn't it? The original Ultratron was great but this new improved one is even more frenetic and flashy. Tons of shop upgrades too. It's like a Jeff Minter game on steroids.

Lots of shooting required in this game :3. Fun game to waste time whilst waiting for something like a League Of Legends queue, overall a really chaotic retro style game, 7/10

A solid twin stick shooter.

Pros:
+ Intuitive controls (controller)
+ Decent soundtrack
+ Great pick up and play
+ Replayability (through achievements and online leaderboards)

Cons:
- Popping/tearing graphic FX when idle menu/enemies spawn into arena (although you can disable this through options)
- Bosses aren't challenging (I found general levels to be harder)
- Not alot of upgrade options between stages
-I found most of the upgrade options to be negligable towards my overall DPS (i.e. buying droid AI to help during combat wasn't as helpful in comparison to self upgrades)

I can't say if this game is worth the price because I got it free from a buddy, but I would recommend it as a solid game!

7/10

This is one of those fun little shooter arena games. Reminds of Robotron except more power-ups, yo u can get pets, make yourself really powerful and you have a life meter of sorts (shield.) The soundtrack was nice and the distorting effects are not bad. I bought this game awhile back and never gave it a chance, worth getting when it is one sale, fun little time waster.
