Planetside 2 has to be one game that I am thankful to have come across. The large-scale feeling that it produces to the player, the cooperation between players on both sides of the battlefield, and the un-ending thrill of being able to feel like you are meaningful on the battlefield.
At first, Planetside 2 may come across as mildly confusing, whether it spouts from the questions, "Which faction do I want to play as?" or, "What class am I going to be?" to "What in the heck do all of these buttons do?" With time and 'patience' you will understand the game and find joy out of it.
One thing that really stands out is the multitude of different playstyles. Whether you want to be infantry, duking it out on the frontlines, an engineer manning a faction specific battletank, or a pilot, swiftly dropping in units to reinforce the current push, Planetside 2 has it all.
, open-ended battles spanning across 4 maps (currently)
A decent playerbase, that is not always yelling at you (Not always guaranteed) A multitude of different playstyles
Interesting maps, that were designed to provide interesting gameplay
Ample amounts of weaponry to choose from
A plethora of various vehicles to use to get whatever job needs to get done
Graphics are superb (On Medium->Ultra)
Graphics are wonderful, but lag can seep through due to running high graphics (CPU intensive game)
Some optimization issues, but nothing like it was a year or so ago
In order to get new guns/cosmetics/et cetera, you have to buy them with Station Cash (Not a big deal, since there is a method to acquire *weapons* without purchases)
Overall, I have to give Planetside 2 a 9/10, because I truly do enjoy this game after playing it for two years.
If you are questioning on whether or not to download it, try it out! It's free, holds you to no obligations, and in the worst case scenario, you delete it.
See you on the battlefield
