Second Chances are rare in this market, but when they happen, they create great things. Age of Conan is the perfect example of that.

Ok for a Free to Play MMORPG game but could be better. Glaring bad problem i have seen is Gray people and critters everywhere, i guess you have to look at a direction to download all the skins for what players and npc in your field of view. Has voice acting and several choices for your conversations. You can remove your clothes and look at your naked body. Storyline is after Conan is king somewhere. I don't like pvp so started on a pve server. Has different classes and specializations system. No customization of your body looks, i think it just random picks your looks while you are creating your avatar. You have a very small inventory, which i guess you buy store points to increase the size. You start with 2 slots for avatars. There are several classes you have to buy with store points. This game is Mostly designed for PVPers.
Give it a try, it is free. But I am losing interest in playing, need to get back to playing LOTRO instead.

I don't like to use the term Pay2Win on free to play games because most of the complaints are usually not true, or just people complaining they have to pay money for something. But Selling full Tier 1 and Tier 4 PvP armorsets on the marketplace with full stats and attribute bonus's that are better then any of the dungeon gear is crossing the line just a bit. Sorry if you disagree, but If this isn't considered pay2win I don't know what you people consider pay 2 win then because whats the point of earning your gear when you can just buy it on the marketplace? This game for me was better when it was subscription based.

Wouldn't recommend, those northerners don't know how to take people's money, and when you try to give it to them, they ban your account. I mean I can't speak to the fact that they may only accept EU currency or that they may just not like the U.S. I noted that they banned my account before sending any email, this leads me to believe that this may be a commonly reoccuring issue among the games ever dwindling fan base. So if you want to play, don't pay.

Not recommended, while it is a good game and there is plenty to do, it gets annoying when you kill the enemies and then they reappear again! This makes it very difficult to finish quests and unless you can afford to buy items using real money many quests will be impossible for people to achieve anything! You can not get powerful enough items to fight the tough bosses and the number 1 to 10 combat system is not the best, so i am currently level 34 and until i can afford to buy better equipment the game is impossible for me especially without a mount to ride to get around which takes a long time and in the game you cannot get 50 or more gold to buy one! This is the real problem of pay to play games which seem to be made only for the rich to play!!!

Let me preface by saying that I don't generally like MMO games. I'm not a big fan of mindless gathering and grinding, or pay-to-win PvP. And sometimes, I just like to be left alone. But, since I enjoy the Conan mythos, I decided to give AoC a try. Besides, at free-to-play, the price was right.

Age of Conan isn't revolutionary, but it certainly exceeded my expectations. I joined the PvE server, and I have the luxury of playing it as a single-player game when I want to, and teaming up when I don't. Even playing solo, levelling up occurs at a reasonable pace thanks to the hundreds of quests to discover and complete. The character classes are balanced enough for PvE that you can choose one to suit your play style without having to worry about being too gimpy to advance. And, what I like best of all, is that there are certain single-player Destiny Quests centering around the plot advancement of your own character. Just imagine? An MMO with a little plot. So, all in all, there's really nothing to lose by taking a chance on the free play.

Just a warning, though - free play can be satisfying, but only up to level 80. Even though 80 is max level, subscription players will continue to advance through an Alternate Advancement tree - so level 80 isn't really the end of your character's evolution. But even if you play to 80 and don't choose to buy a subscription, just getting there can be worth the trip.

Gorgeous game, and feels very true to the writing of Robert E. Howard. I've enjoyed it greatly so far.

A pretty dead game at this point, but it was a lot of fun in the past. I wish more MMO's would adopt this game's skill based combat model, as it is the biggest strength of the game.

Age of Conan is my second favorite MMO next to Dungeons and Dragons Online. Age of Conan is among the few fantasy themed MMOs that is not obviously modeled after World of Warcraft.

PROs

* Game world which is true to the Conan source material, including its adult themed content.

* Beautiful graphics and in game music

* Intricate and involved combat system with combos, finishers, and bloody results shown in detail.

* Thousands of quests, dungeons, raids, and World events for long term game play and variety.

* Unique character classes like the Demonologist and the Herald of Xotli

CONs

* The game is somewhat buggy even after extensive revisions earlier in the game's life

* New content is released at a slower rate than in the past

* The player community is still significant but relatively small. Join a Guild to complete the dungeons and raids

I enjoyed playing the game. There was a lot of action. You were also given different stories or quest depending on whether you were playing solo or in a group!

I played multiple games of this genre and I must say this game really suprised me, it has much content, questlines and interactions,... And I like the idea of a guild city. This game also has good graphics for a f2p game.

This, is by far one of my favorite games ever. The game play is easy and unlike any game i have played. When i had my old account when it was pay to play i had a necro and one of the hi~lights for me was meeting Conan and he even gave me quest. I play alot of different games and Age of Conan will always be one of the best for me.
