By far the best entry in the Bit.Trip series, and completely worth it even if you hated the first Bit.Trip Runner or any other games in the series.

Runner 2 isn't even comparable to any of the other Bit.Trip games due to it's depature from a retro style and is more akin to the likes of Trials Evolution due to the outstanding visuals, insane amount of content and unlockables, and an overall amazing quality of level design with multiple paths and lots of decision making thrown in.

Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is easily the most fun you'll have with a Bit.Trip game and has by far the most forgiving learning curve in the series, this belongs in every platform gaming fans' library!

I don't feel my fingers after 7 hours inside of the Runner2 world.
That's the main reason why I am writing this review right now.
I don't remember how long ago in the past I wasn't able to STOP playing a platformer game!
Why is this indie game so good?
Music is simply awesome, and I must admit, that I am not a fanatic or even fan of this type of "noises".
This soundtrack is wonderful and fits game perfectly. When you collect gold bars, or jump over enemies, a new bit arise.
After a short time you can "feel" that you can "touch" music with your character. (I am not on drugs!)
Who said, that indie game must be ugly? huh? show him to me!
I know this is not "top of the mountain", but in my personal opinion visual side of this game is better than good.
Difficulty level is not so high, but getting perfect+ scores is a seriously challenge sometimes (for your fingers).
Sense of humor dosed during gameplay is not too frequent and insolent, but in places where developers wanted to make you smile, for sure - a smile must appear on your face.
For me "BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien" is a best platformer I played in ages, and it's one of few indie games worth their full retail price.
10/10 from me.
One last thing - do not even try to play this game on keyboard... gamepad is necessary. I hope mine will survive this game.

Great game, try not to get addicted. Fast reaction needed, sometimes it requires you to memorize what's about to come. Great graphic and control system. Worth the price!

BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is the second Runner game in the BIT.TRIP series, where you control the Rhythm Alien.

Yeah.

So what's it all about? You control this vaguely rectagonal fella called CommanderVideo and you run, jump, kick, block, and do a whole lot of other activities in order to reach the end of a level. The levels are handcrafted so that avoiding obstacles and getting items contributes to the music (as usual for the BIT.TRIP). There are 120 levels in 3 difficulty levels and 25 hidden retro chalenges to complete spread through five different worlds.

The graphics are pretty without being overly flashy or distracting while the music is top notch. The controls are tight enough and the level design has a very fine-tuned difficulty curve. All in all, the game is long and provides a good replay value, in part thanks to the online leaderboards.

Whether or not you have played the original Runner, and whether or not you like music games in general, B.TP...R2:FLoRA is very much worth your attention!

For those who are familiar with Runner 1:
They have improved and expanded every single aspect of the game. That's all.

BIT.TRIP Runner 2 (forgive me, but I'm not using the full name of the game) is a really fun... platformer? It's not really a platformer, more like a crash course of obstacles to avoid. Which might sound boring, but it's actually pretty fun!

The gameplay is relaxing, yet challenging; there hasn't been anything that made me ragequit, just try harder; the normal difficulty setting seems to be really balanced, and also implementing checkpoints makes the frustration factor go waaaay down. One note though, if you don't have a controller, you might have a bad time.

There is a lot to do here. 100 levels, with collectibles, chests, keys and other stuff. You can go for all the items, try the high score or try the deceptively tough warp zones (3 lives...) If you're a stickler for collecting, prepare to get sucked in.

Visuals are top-notch, the art style is really pleasing and in a sense idyllic. And of course, the most important factor in such a game, is the sound; I cannot praise the sound enough. The combination of your inputs and the visuals and the music, wonderfully composed of variously pitched sounds, make this game feel really complete and suck you in.

All of this makes this one of the "one more level" genre games. And sure, it won't last you forever, as there is an end to all the challenges, but I'll be damned if you don't have lots of fun on the way there.

Strongly recommend. Pick this up now, or on the nearest sale (it was really cheap in December, but I never got around to playing it)
