When they said Battle, they weren't kidding. This DLC adds additional multiplayer content such as characters and stages. It also allows you to force your Chao to fight for prizes.

In also changes the menu cosmetics to those of the Gamecube version.

The Battle DLC is an evil trick, even with this DLC multi-player is local only. If you're getting this to play with a sibling or friend crowded around your PC, then it has everything that the Gamecube version had and remains just as fun, but if you're wanting to play with a friend over the internet, don't waste your money.

Exactly as I remember it, but the cross-platforming created some control issues, but otherwise the game is great. Missed this game horribly.

Battle doesn't really add much to the single player game (that I know of), other than Chao Karate if you're into raising the little guys. I'm not sure what features of the Gamecube version were put into the base edition of the SA2 PC we got and what gets added back with the DLC, but here's a link with info for the curious.

This is probably a better buy if you do the local-only 2P mode in the base game already since it expands upon that with more stages and more characters. Playing as different people is kinda fun, though it's a shame we can't take them to the Single Player part of the game...

Oh wait.

Gamecube add-on. Multiplayer Characters and what-not.
