About This Game

A World to Build… or Destroy.

“A war is coming… a war between East and West - between Kingdoms and Empires, between man and Fallen. A future of blood and death, of chaos and destruction.” – the Oracle Ceresa

Design your sovereign with unique talents and weapons for the trials ahead. Learn powerful spells to enchant units, summon elementals, or destroy those who oppose you. Found cities and research technologies to expand your influence. Send your champions on quests to recover ancient artifacts, gain allies, or obtain the great wealth lost during the Cataclysm.

The land is not simply waiting to be claimed; it must be conquered. Darkling camps, ogre lairs and caves waiting to be explored dot the landscape. In remote corners of the world, tireless butchermen, fell demons and legendary locations are waiting to be found. Explore Varda, a pre-Cataclysm city defended by golems that have turned on the citizens and made the city into a prison. Defeat Sarog to claim the Temple of the Dragon and recruit Ashwake Dragons to your cause. Claim the Flooded Graveyard or the Pit of Sarpah to harness the powerful magical energy of those locations.

Key features:

  • Recruit Champions - Equip them with rare magical items that you create or discover. Customize your champion’s special abilities and traits as they gain levels.
  • Fight in tactical battles - Battle enemy armies or the wild creatures of the world. Command your armies directly and choose between the special attacks and spells your units have learned.
  • Design your units - Customize their armor and weapons. Equip units with mounts to quickly close on enemy units. Train them with specialized traits like Discipline and Ignore Pain.
  • Liberate or Enslave - Transform Elemental into a noble kingdom, or an empire where citizens are fuel for your spells. Build studies and workshops to make your citizens more productive, or gallows and sacrificial altars to keep your citizens motivated.
  • Explore Wildland Areas - Be cautious when entering these areas; they offer their own rewards and treasures, but you will need high-level champions, advanced armies and powerful spells to survive.
  • Build your own world - Use the included modding tools to create new improvements, locations, quests or factions. Design new spells in the Particle Cauldron and entire worlds with the Cartographer’s Table.

As mentioned in other comments Fallen Enchantress has been abandoned by its developers Stardock and they created another standalone that is nothing more than a modded version of Fallen Enchantress. But this isn't the worst part. Fallen Enchantress is just a modded version of Elemental War of Magic the first game that they also abandoned to create another full game to pull full price out of there costomers for nothing more than what should be a DLC. This isn't the only game Stardock has done this with. Every game they make that gets sequal are nothing more than the previous game with new features. lets take Sins of a solar empire for example, They actually made expansion Deplomacy and Entrenchment but 4 years later in 2012 they release Sins of a solar empire Rebellion and its nothing more than sins of a solar empire with the expansion plus a new one. It should have been nothing more than an expansion especially since most of the new fearture including the game and the DLC for it were created by the community on there mod page. Taking player made content adding it to there old game and calling it a new one is Pretty low but that is the way of Stardock. Customers be warned!

bought it on a sale with legendary heroes and there is no reason to touch it if you have the stand-alone addon. you wont miss ANYTHiNG. the "stand-alone addon" is actually the finished fallen entchantress and no expansion or something

It's hard to know where to start with this... If i had to pick just one game that i wished i hadn't bought, it would be this one! Firstly there is the extremely annoying need to create a Stardock account, which gives the impression that this company is more than a little delusional about their status in the realms of PC game devs. Stardock are certainly NOT one of the big names in the business and if you are in any doubt about this, just look at how basic and extremely low grade the whole business of setting up this necessary account looks and runs.

So once that hurdle is over and done with, you finally get to the game. Almost immediately you are then overcome by the huge sense of "WTF am i supposed to be doing??" The tutorial teaches you virtually nothing, so not only does this leave you with HAVING to click on each and every icon to see what it does, but also having to pretty much click all over the screen as you realise that not everything that looks clickable is, and not everything that looks like mere background decoration is. This game is a messy travesty that looks and plays like a Beta version. It is a title that badly needs a tutorial that covers what you need to actually play the game. In it's current state it is almost showing contempt towards those who ARE trying to play it. Horrible!!

Instead of releasing new content for this game...they added a few heros and called it legendary and charged full price instead of making it a dlc for this game. Dont waste you time with stardock, they try and cheat their fans!

I loved the game, but the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s manage to screw you at every corner and it feels like their security measures try to roadblock you every chance they get. Stardock doesn't want you to play their games and so I will never buy another Stardock game again!

The game is fun as long as you explore the game mechanics ~ 20h. Thereafter, it is plain boring. On top of it, there is no multiplayer and the game crashes frequently.

Not recommended. If you like this kinda game, go for Age of Wonders 2 SM or Civ5.

Another minus: You have to register with stardocks. Steam is not enough ....

Was alright for the first few hours... then I won, tried to complete the game in a different manner and nothing much changed. Very plain game, the auto-fight feature means you don't even really have to strategize, the storyline??? is fairly hollow. Went to play it again a few months later and it would crash after 20mins or so without auto-saving, also noticed they added DLC and felt a bit cheated on. Not worth it.

This game takes way too long to finish. This game is only fun when you are winning, otherwise you are just losing for hours.

I played through the campaign once and it was engaging enough, but I have not had a desire to revisit the game subsequent to completion of the campaign. Still considering the expansion, once I run out of other options.

Civ-like game, but all set in medieval fantasy setting rather than passing through on the way to guns and aircrafts which I enjoyed about it. One or two glitches around turn end/AI moves, but solid otherwise. The army strength rating system sort of held me back - not entirely accurate at the beginning to mid-game. I would have made many moves sooner.

Good game. Fun to play. Perhaps the buggiest game I have ever forced myself to play. I don't know what it crashes so often. Regular checking of file integrity is a necessity, but it is still super annoying. Unplayable without autosave

The original game was called Elemental: War of Magic. War of Magic was a great game and it was amazingly fun, but it had many key issues that the developers never addressed. This game however fixes a lot of problems with the original without adding anything new, while that wouldn't be enough to ♥♥♥♥ me off this game ruined itself by doing one key thing. Singleplayer matches with the AI have a time limit of 400 seasons, AKA 100 years. That means you do not have a choice of playing matches that last 40 hours and having epic wars and struggles to keep your Kingdom alive despite multiple enemy nations at war with you. What this means is that your match will last about 3-4 hours, I've played the original so much that I could win it in a quarter of that time but I chose to play longer. Then it struck me, a warning told me 50 seasons left. I unstationed my massive army within my capitol city and used Call of the Titans to send this army directly next to the enemy capitol city and destroy everything and kill Queen Procipinee. I ended up winning after 92 years of playing. My old games on Elemental: War of Magic broke a thousand years usually. I would recommend this game if there was no time limit.

Would be a great game if it did not shut down every 20 turns. When are these companies going to learn what a memory leak is , and how to fix them?
