So, Gemini Wars. Lets get to the review and overall score.

Gemini Wars is a space RTS game that mixes base building with (sort of) strategy. Gemini wars is kinda like Command & Conquer Generals, except it only has 2 factions and it is in space. In the campaign, you are a captain cole, a captain that has been sent to prison due to a war that lasted for decades (I don't remember the story line, i haven't played it in a while). You can also go into skirmish battles against AI, so there are some added hours to that. So, lets get to the review.

Pros:
- There are a lot of units, I mean a LOT.
- There are actually a large unit variety (for instance, the frigates are more for raids and early-game battles, while battleships and carriers are more for slugging it out and breaking through heavily fortified installations).
- There are planetary colonies, which is actually a pretty good concept. (In order to invade them, you need marines, and that means having your own colonies, that also means that you need a special kind of ship to invade them.)
- Gas giants actually mean something.
- Wormholes: Basically, you need a stargate (I have a feeling that was ripped from Stargate) that is built on a wormhole in order to go to other systems.
- The maps are usually HUGE, so the units go at warp speed, which allows them to go really fast to targets within a certain range.
- You are sometimes waging war between entire star systems.

Cons;
- The unit animations SUCK. Projectiles come out from the hull sometimes for no apparent reason.
- Either the units have a HUGE amount of health, or the dpp for the units just sucks. Sometimes it takes 3 minutes of constantly shooting at the enemy frigate for another frigate to destroy it.
- The visual effects are also really bad. (just white lines when your units move, and the explosions look like they could destroy the entire craft in one shot, but they don't. :/)
- The maps are FLAT!!! In space games, you are supposed to have a depth, which means that your units can actually move around like they are in space, instead of a flat board that looks like space.
- Base building mechanics SUCK. You can only build one of certain buildings on each planet, which means if you want a decent unit production you need to control multiple planets, which most of the time takes a long time to do.
- The campaign sucks. (Why was the main character sent to prison?)
- The AI for the skirmishes are REALLY DIFFICULT. (I got blown to bits by a 3 cruisers and 5 assault frigates by the time i researched some decent ships and started getting some military ships.)
- The graphics suck. The colonies look like a mix of a spider web and a stargate from the stargate movie.
- The tutorial is REALLY LONG. it took me 30-45 minutes to finish the tutorial, the rest of my time was trying the skirmish and the campaign. (Btw, I did play a bit offline, about a half-hours worth)
- The units don't move like their in space, either. They accelerate to their top speed in nothing-flat. It also seems as if the units were programmed to move like they were moving on PERFECTLY FLAT GROUND!!!
- The asteroid field mechanic is also a failure. You can only build one mining station per field, and the mining stations are even bigger than the asteroid fields (which compensates for the 'only build one building type' mechanic), but the resource income sucks so much that you would need 2-3 mining stations to have a decent income.
- The actual strategy that this game has is early unit spam. Basically, it is all a race to get the most units, find the enemy base, and blow it up.

Overall, the game has potential, but just doesn't use it. I haven't even played 5 minutes of the game and I got a headache from the boringness and the tmi factor. The units suck, even the unit models suck (too boxy). The battles don't even matter, because it takes about 3 minutes to destroy even the lightest unit. The base building mechanics also suck, as even the biggest planets have the exact same build space as eachother, except for the asteriod fields, which have about half the build space of the planets. The trailer shows weapons popping out of the starships and blasting the others to oblivion. In the game, the weapons look like they are actually doing something, but they are mere p-shooters.

I rate this game a 3/10 (not worth the money). This game had a lot of potential, and the trailer showed that. However, it wasn't what I thought it would be. This game would be better off if it was a f2p game, since the graphics are actually quite low for a game released in 2012.

Got this game on sale. Didn't get it before because of poor reviews.
When I started the game, I had low expectations. Turns out I ended up playing it whole night.
The story (and characters) is a bit predictable, but doesn't stop it from being fun.
Huge battles, a lot of destruction and well, fun!

This game is passable a passable RTS in space; there's just not enough here to keep me interested for long.

Graphics are meh, strategy is so so, and the story is cliche. Manuevering your ships for that perfect ambush can be fun for a while.

Get it on discount, and it might keep you occupied for a night or two.

Honestly its worth buying on sale only. I can see what they were trying to do with the game. But it falls short compared to other games in the genre. Boring missions, ♥♥♥♥poor voice acting, and an annoyingly long tutorial period of around 3-5 missions. I have not and will not finish this game. In the end interesting story but poor implimentation. 4/10 Not Recommended

First off this game is not a top notch AAA title and treat as such. When it was first released it had bugs and save game issues. I waited much later to buy in a indie bundle and couldn't go wrong. If you like Sins of the Solar Empire but with an actual campaign this game is good. The user interface takes some getting used to and could be optimized better to control your planets and territories but for a cheap and enjoyable game it's alright.

Game seems stable now and I'm on 8th mission. If you get be sure to catch it in a indie special or steam sale. Wouldn't suggest paying full price.

The serial number for this game doesn't work. The registration process is ridiculously difficult. Spend your money elsewhere.

I would rate this as an average / good strategy game.
If it had more updates that would expand the tactical options, I would rate it as a great game.

If you're looking for a clickfest, this one is not for you.
It's slow at times, but exactly like strategy games should be.

Game requires a username and password everytime you play even when your not online. Also password recovery is a poorly designed system. While gameplay is good for an indie game it is not worth even a small amount of money considering the number of restrictions the creators put on the game. When games use too much DRM like this you basically buy the game to not play it.

While an entertaining premise the gameplay itself is very slow. The ui is unclear and button placements are hard to find and not intuitive at all. For example career mission one takes far too long to get going and when i found out i could build new ships at a nearby military station i self destructed it and failed the mission (the self destruct button is above the build button and has no "are you sure" warning at all. 2/10 would not recommend. Too bad really, could have been an awesome game.

Have you played great space games like Endless Space or Sins of a Solar Empire? Looking for another space game to help you get your epic sci-fi fix? Perhaps you are looking for a nice space game to give to your friends or family as a gift. Well DON'T look here. Simple and sweet, this game is a cash cow whose sole function is to con unsuspecting consumers looking for good space games out of their hard-earned money. I have never seen a game with so little redeeming qualities before i was burden with this game's prescence. Firstly, this game has all of the major mechanics of Sins of a Solar Empire, but it fails to take any of its finess. I literally couldn't care less about either of the factions if I tried. The game's interface was complex to the point that it gets in the way of the gameplay. there was very little unit and defense diversity and even that was plagued with rediculous prerequisite and resource costs. What I'm trying to say is that this game is a waste of everyone's time. But then again, that is what cash cows are meant to do: Steal away your precious money and time

Not bad, but also not good, the game is simply....satisfactory. Myself I found the game boring after a few missions, for even with different objectives, the missions become repetable, with loooong stages of waiting for resources/research/construction.
