Informazioni sul gioco

Home is a unique horror adventure set in a beautifully-realized pixel world. It’s a murder mystery with a twist—because you decide what ultimately happens.

Awakened by an oncoming storm, you open your eyes to discover yourself in a strange, dark room—tucked away in a house that’s not yours.

As you play the game, it changes—subtly, almost imperceptibly—to reflect your perspective. It's a horror game unlike any other, and as you'll discover, its truths are entirely subjective.

E stica**i???

Shortly after playing a wonderful little title called Lone Survivor, I stumbled upon Home. It looked similarly charming, and both games obviously draw inspiration from Silent Hill 2.

So, why is it that Lone Survivor plays out like a haunting love letter to Silent Hill while Home feels like an uninspired knock off? I think it is greatly because Lone Survivor smartly crafted its own story while taking on the mechanics and atmosphere of Silent Hill. Home, on the other hand, shoplifts nearly all of its parts and tweaks nothing in any interesting ways.

In short, Home sets itself up for failure due to a seeming lack of confidence in its own story. What starts out intriguing, then swiftly becomes derivative and predictable.

The pitch of this game was admirable. The execution gives a plotline that's a congealed mess of contradictory events, plot holes, inconsistancies and general nonsense. The price is about right, but to quote one of the philosophers of our age "Ain nobody got TIME fo' dat!"

I found Home to be beautiful, exciting and quite scary at times, but it definitely had a hard time keeping my attention.
You're supposed to at least want to give it a few playthroughs but I'm just not curious enough.

At the beginning of the game when you have the option to look at something or not, if you click on it again, it says that maybe you shouldn't have done that because you now have your finger prints everywhere.

When I first read this, I thought this meant that whether I touched and interacted with anything in the game would affect my ending because I might get arrested for instance if I touched the wrong things.

In the end all I got was a main character that had no idea what had happened because I had not actually interacted with anything except what was needed to progress the story. And the worse part was even when I played through and had found everything... I still didn't know what had happened for sure.

I replayed the game a few more times, and while the atmosphere and art are nice, I feel that game is not worth it except at a cheap price.

The endings aren't that different and that's where it failed.

The only majorly different ending is the one where you kill yourself if you have picked up the gun or knife. If the endings had more variety such as you getting arrested because you left evidence at a crime scene or SOMETHING different than just killing yourself or wandering off into the distance, then this game would have been worth it.

Also this game REALLY should not be advertised as a Horror game, because while the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic it is not scary at all except if you bought this game for a high price.

Più che un gioco lo definirei un "esperienza". Gameplay minimale, retrò, e affascinante. Molto semplice, non dura molto però ha una atmosfera coinvolgente ed una bella storia con finali multipli. Consigliato.
