This game looks worth it, till you actually play and find how broken the quest lines are if you want to play multiplayer.
Not only have the dev's not released a patch to fix probs over 2 years old ! They then expect everyone with broken quests to send their saves to them for a fix ! Not at all good enough !
These quest line probs should have been addressed with a patch ages ago ! So has turned me off this game for good will be asking for a refund !
First time i have !
Will not be getting the other games in this series as i hear there are similar probs with them too !
Fix your game Neocore !!!!
I will be treating anything with neocore attatched with caution in future !
Game would be great if you could play with friends without bother ! Ok if you want to play sinle player !

The game is kind of a mixed bag. The npc dialogs really great and funny. There is a LOT of easter egg references to other games and movies in the game wich i find great. Graphics are avarage, nothing too facy but it does its job. But the asthetics are way above avarage, the game has a certain uniqe style wich i find really great. Where the game really lacks is in the core gameplay mechanics. The fights are really booring and simple. You just left click and wait to the enemy health bar slowly disappear or just kite the enemies to defeat them wich is lame. There are not many skills or abilites wich can put you off from the combat wich by reaching toward the end will be sickenly boring. Many times i found graphical gliches and camera bugs where i only can saw the roof uncovering my charater in combat. Overall its an OK game, not bad but not good either.

Personally i dont recommend this game. But! It was discounted soo many times by now for dirt cheap it can really worth a shot for the dialogs and easter eggs alone. /killer rabbit best rabbit :) /

I like the game, but I have encountered a major problem with it.
I play the game with 360 controller, I play every game this way, dont tell me otherwise, it is a personal thing.
Okay back to the topic, so whenever I send my companion back to town for shopping, the game freezes. It seems the game isnt fixed yet up to this point. I mean wtf. People have been yelling about this annoying bug since the release.

If you played Diablo 3 and thought it was to easy, play this. If you played Torchlight 2 and thought it looked too cartoonish for an ARPG, play this. If you played Path of Exile and wanted to spend money instead, play this. If you have no friends, play this and not get angry at multiplayer bugs.

So I bought this game because it was on sale and I'd been wanting it for quite some time. I've unlocked the first two areas and have now hit lv 11 after map completion in both areas. My thoughts so far:

The skill system is neither as balanced nor as customizable as I thought it would be, and the combat is what really put me off.

Monsters don't level with you (which was to be expected), and when entering an area for the first time, monsters are hard to beat. Once you've progressed through the map and levelled up, it gets easier. However, a big issue I have with the game is that it throws monsters at you in abundance. You really can't help but walk into up to three packs that combine into 10-20 (and sometimes even more) monsters, and even when you are overlevelled for that area, they are often deadly. If the area is crammed and you aren't able to use the "run away, attack, run away, attack"-method, you're dead. Which makes the game utterly frustrating and on top of that boring, because you keep doing the same thing over and over.
I had immense trouble completing the second area and went back to the first one just for fun. I one-shot most of the monsters, and the only trouble I was presented with was large packs forming one giant group of monsters. Managable at this point, but still hard.

What really bothers me about this is that it feels like they didn't put any thought into the combat/levelling system and just put a lot of monsters of the same level into an area. There is literally no middle ground between being able to one-shot and running for your life.

In the first area I still thought "this is only hard because I don't have the right set of skills yet", but after several hours of constantly dying despite a proper build for my Hunter, I have to say I don't enjoy the game anymore. I doubt I'll ever finish it.

Well, I have found that after choosing many games by the good reviews that reviewers tend to be a very picky lot. Many of the games that have great ranking are simply awful. the ones that get between 70% and 80 usually find me at least liking them. It turns out after many years of casual gaming I dont like most of the games that are highly rated. This game is charming, fun, doesnt take itself to seriously, and has in my opinion very good characters and gameplay. Rotten tomatoes gave it a 72% I think, I give it a 9.5. its a fun game! like games should be.....good guys and bad guys, none of this always bad against worse guy.

Fantastic game, high replayability, witty dialogue, and the first ARPG that I could comfortably play with a gamepad.

I had a lot of fun with this game. So much that I bought the next two outright. Having a lot of fun with the second installment, and expect the same from the third.

I had no problems in my playthrough, other than the controller support isn't 100% great (some parts of the interface are better in the kb/m version--as they swap out the entire interface when you have a controller plugged in).

9/10, I plan on playing it again.

A very atmospheric, dark-fantasy/steampunk Action-RPG.

I wasn't sure about buying it, as ARPGs aren't my favourite (though i really enjoyed Diablo 2), but i didn't regret it.
Actually, it's pretty well done.
You play the son of the famous Van Helsing, accompanied by the ghost of Lady Katarina, which will aid you in your battle against werewolves, robots and all sorts of other monsters.

The world is dark and with lots of steampunk elements in it, very detailed and atmospheric.
As you progress, you also hear some nice dialogues between the two main characters, which are pretty humorous sometimes. The game is also filled with some pop-culture-references (Lord of the Rings, The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, as to name only 2).

Though it has some minor flaws and might not be as polished as bigger productions, it's a nice and well done game, which i would recommend to anyone who likes ARPGs.
