Stupid developers ruined the game with the latest patch. You can no longer launch this game in any versions of Windows 10. Even if you manage to launch the game, it limits the number of machines you installed on. It's the worst form of DRM.

I have no choice but use the "Support" feature to remove this game from my library. I will make sure to never purchase any products from this developer in the future.

This game gets old really fast. Run around, fight enemies, gain experience and gold and reset when you are running out of time. And the weird this is that you see the credits at the end of each level which is just annoying.

HMH Review 1st draft

An epic RPG... With a deep plot, heart-wrenching drama, and real tension... are all things that this parody throws out the window in favor of pure wackiness and hilarity. Half Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy (Which we'll be referring to as HMH or Half Minute Hero) is, rather than simply being as advertised, a series of small genre parodies with a sense of humor. It never takes itself too seriously. For the sake of this review, we'll only be focused on 1 of 6 game modes: Hero 30. It starts simple. Just some level grinding. Then you go back to the castle, and OH DEAR HEAVENS THE WORLD IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE! You have 30 seconds to go defeat the evil lord, as a level 2 no less. You frantically run around the small overworld getting into battle after battle, and winning some if not all of them-! But your efforts are in vain. The world explodes, and we are greeted by an ending screen. Until the goddess of time makes us a deal. She'll rewind time for us as many times as we need, and we become her cash cow-... Er, acolyte/adventuring partner. She rewinds time, and poof! We can kill the evil lord, with time to spare! The game mechanics, you see, are simple and few. The 2 major ones are battle, and donation to the time goddess. The battles, like the rest of the game, are short but surprisingly enjoyable. They're random, but don't happen too often. Before a quest, you choose equipment to your liking. (The best of which is the Time equipment, the full set of which is only available on a certain path, but whatever) and you can change out in the middle by buying equipment. Anyways, a random encounter is as such. You have your hp and level, they have theirs. If your stats are better, you win. As aforementioned, it's surprisingly enjoyable. But the goal of this game is to beat the clock. Er, timer. To do that (without dying) you have to pray to the time goddess. Er, pray being a loose term... It's more like you throw money at a statue, and she rewinds time. To get this money, you kill monsters. You need more levels to kill the evil lord of each level. To do that, you need XP. But to do that, you need to kill monsters, but for that you need more time. But to get more time, you need more gold, but you need to kill monsters to have the time to do that. It seems complicated, but you'll get the hang of it. "Why do I neeeeeeeeeeeeed more time, Proto?", I hear you ask. Simple! There's a forbidden spell that will summon the demon overlord, and someone leaked it. Now, every evil wannabe is using it, and it only takes 30 seconds to cast. You need to kill them before they finish casting it. To do that, you need- ... we already did this. Anyways, you travel across the land, killing everyone trying to cast the spell, before they finish. Slowly, a story unfolds. Not one that particularly is normal, but an engaging one. There are also several endings you can get and paths to take depending on how you beat a level. This game is funny, with well-written dialogue, and references that diehard gamers like myself will at least chuckle at. This game, whille still a parody, is a love letter to oldschool RPG's, and the ones who play them. Overall, I give this game a 9/10. I can see it getting boring to a certain audience, but for gamers like myself who want to play in brief, humor-filled bursts, it's pure gold.

- Cool idea that builds on top of addictive RPG elements.
- Good variation of objectives in each level.
- Fun character designs.
- Awesome arcade-ish music!
- Bonus game modes that are actually different!
- Credit scenes can be skipped!

- Lack of guidance or hints for quests.
- User interface is lacking.
- Takes some time to save data.

I took more than 30 seconds to write this review.

Half Minute Hero's premise is pretty unique and the game actually plays around with it really well. I personally think the artwork and upgraded graphics are awful but the original sprites remain a welcome option. Worth a buy, especially if it's on sale.

It'll make you laugh. It'll make you cry. It'll make you spill juice on your good pants.

Half-Minute Hero plays like a normal RPG on speed: Each map has you grind, get new gear, and fight a big bad boss, with each RPG taking about only 3 to 5 minutes. There are plenty of different maps with branching paths and titles to challenge to go through maps different ways.

Unlike the 360 version, it comes with Evil Lord 30, which is a top-down beat'em'up where you summon monsters to beat up people, Princess 30 where you play a shoot'em'up under a very strict 30 second royal curfew, and Knight 30 where you protect your sage for 30 seconds against monsters. All of these is more than reason enough to pick up this game if you are even remotely interested by the premise.

More a puzzle game than an RPG. Balance speed vs. grinding vs. money management to solve each stage, contains 99% of the content of all other versions of the game... probably the "ultimate" variant. A crazy game which has some silly moments and a barrage of replay value given the multiple awards, unlocks, and branches each stage might come complete with.

A speedy game deserves an equally-quick review, no?

A game in 8-bits that doesn't feel like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ retro game. Everything on the game goes faster than lighting (no pun intended), and there are a lot of references. A lot of stages to play, 4 long stories to complete, one hell of a final battle, and a little Challenge mode if you have the balls, all with great music, and non-8bit mode for people that don't like them.

It's at 1,74€ right now. And I can tell you, it's worth more.

Super funny game with many JRPG reference and humors on it

- Fast and tense 30 sec rule
- With all addictive JRPG elements such as secret map, NPC mercenaries, Flying on map, etc. which keeps you playing
- Good humors and adorable cute character designs
- Full controller support with very easy to use control scheme
- Good variations for diffferent levels
- Free Bonus materials after cleared the game is satisfied rewarding. It is very precious in recent Season Pass still not include all DLC different colour skins era
- Multiplayer mode add replayability

- Not enough hints for discovering secrets since you got 30 sec each pray, will rush to boss and easily missed out the secrets. Replay the map will not reward the new equipment, force to read walkthough before start level for completionist
- Same attack effects no matter you're using iron sword or legendary sword
- Graphics is little bit rough

Score: 80/100

It's a great game, though it was slightly better on the PSP. The original graphics don't scale well to a PC screen, and the new alternative graphics are terrible. The sequel is even better, and it comes with a free copy of the first game, so buy that. But make sure you play the first game before the sequel.

This game is the polar opposite of what an RPG should be and it's kind of fun.

It adds all the old school references you admired as a child and throws you in to a frantic panic to grind out levels, complete side quests and defeat an evil boss all in under 30 seconds! Well let's get one thing straight, you don't have to beat every stage in 30 seconds, in fact, some stages can take up to a minute and a half to complete which is kind of false advertising but it's still pretty fun.

The user interface could of used some tweaking, it's poorly optimized for PC. Alt + tabbing minimizes the window, it doesn't run the program in the background, so that was getting kind of annoying when I had to look up a guide.

My only real gripe about the game design is the convoluted side quests you have to do, there's no indication or explaination in game of how to get them done either, some are very cryptic as well... You'll be replaying levels twice or even three times and some of them can get incredibly obnoxious. You definitely need a guide if you're going for 100% completion on this one, you've been warned.
