Is it even possible to review this? I mean, all this game is, is edward mcmillan bundling every flash game he ever made into one compendium that manages to be worth a tiny amount of money. While it isn't possible to review it, it is possible to recommend it.

This game is great for seeing some of Edmund's earlier works. Besides the art, exclusive videos, and other secrets to unlock, the games are just plain fun. Some of them make you think really hard, while others are more relaxing. All of them, though, have the unique Edmund M spin.

This is a great collection of Ed McMillan's work, and really gives you some insight into the development of his games, as well as offering a personal look into his life and inspirations.

It's not for you if:
-you don't like SMB and Binding of Isaac
or
-upon seeing this collection you thought "but I can play these games for free!!"

You might not like every single title, but the collection as a whole is a real treat.

Honestly what I liked the most out of this "game" were the conversations between Edmund and his d00ds, gotta love this guy.

Needless to say, this collection will only be enjoyed by fans of the man. If you are not a fan, go play Binding of Isaac, watch Indie Game: The Movie and then maybe you will come back!

To draw an allegory to comic books, Grant Morrison is one of the most interesting minds there is in the comic world. Always leaving a trace of a larger story that connects all of his comics and leaves a grand mystery for those die hard fans looking for it. Well, Edmund McMillen is the Grant Morrison of indie video games, he leaves us with an amazing story that falls underneath what he presents us and the deeper we go down the rabbit hole the greater it becomes. Pick this up, it's a steam essential!

The Basement Collection is for fans of Edmund McMillen who are interested in how he creates his games. Despite the fact that it isn't a very good Flash port and you can play all the games online on Newgrounds, it includes behind-the-scenes content such as audio commentary, Indie Game: The Movie deleted scenes and game prototypes like the Spewer puke test (what was used to test the puke physics).

Do NOT buy this game if you only wish to play the games. If you just want the games, play them here .
