Thirty Flights of Loving
Rating : 8/10

Short game that is told in scenes in a asynchronous way.

Blendo games is known for releasing games that take radical different approach to story telling and does this again in this game. It's like you watch the most important pieces of a movie shuffled around. The game has some activity where you have to walk and solve some easy puzzles (?) to advance, but other than that it is just enjoying the scenery, trying to understand and connect the story.

The game was build in a modified Doom engine using a typical style which totally fits the game mechanics. Audio and soundtrack are great and fit the game perfectly.

You can speed run this game in 5 minutes I think, but normally when you relax and enjoy the game it should take about 30 minutes. Because the story is so jumpy, it invites you to play it again just to look at the parts again.

In the end the game reminds you that a game doesn't have to be long to be good and that a story can also be told by leaving out all the unnecessary parts.

There is nothing clever about this game, its just pointless. Think of it as a three page short story that goes nowhere and does nothing. Even if I 'got it' it would still not make it clever or special in anyway. Avoid unless its free and the last game on the entire planet...

I bought the game for 1$, and even for that it felt overpriced. It should be free,
since the "game" just a practice project for a game developer, with 20 mins of content.
Its worth playing through though, and has some nice ideas, but just shouldnt cost money.

No. There is no gameplay, and the story is just random stereotypical action movie shots.

Some may say that it is worth getting because it is so bad, or it is worth getting because it is arty. In reality, it is arty in the way two sticks on a chair is arty. It is not interesting; it is not fun; it is not worth money.

Interessante idea per raccontare una storia.
Ero stato attirato dalla citazione di PC GAMER "Tells a better story in 13 minutes than most games do in 13 hours".
Avevano abbastanza ragione, ma come gioco alla fin fine lo giochi e lo lasci lì.
Interessanti i continui flashback/flashforward ma se non amate le sperimentazioni non prendete questo gioco.
