Previously Updated

Introducing the all new co-op mode!

High above the clouds, there drifts a sad, derelict remnant of a once lively little drifter town... it was ruthlessly attacked by pirates intent on sacking the plump little plum in the sky, but in their greed they sank their own ship under the weight of the first load of plunder! A tempest wind soon thereafter arrived, driving the now un-manned island town far from where it had laid anchor for trade. The inhabitants had hastily fled during the pirate attack, but in so doing left all of their goods, munitions, and rum.... LOTS OF RUM. During one of his many pleasure cruises in his glorious, kingly dirigible, the KING happened to stumble across the abandoned stockpile. He immediately seized the derelict under his sovereign authority, claiming the rum (and other less important supplies) for his own reserves. BUT!! Providentially, the surviving pirates of the pillaging snafu had regrouped and showed up just shortly after the KING set up base, and thus found their long-lost gem in the hands of a belligerent, crown-waving buffoon. Having tasted some of the finest rum of the barrels his fat arse now reclined upon, their course of action was clear... This meant WAR!”

Key Features

  • Join up with your friends to protect the rum in the new 1-3 player co-op map, Royal Rum-Bowl!
  • Adjust and rebuild your maze after enemy pirates bomb, smash and utterly destroy your towers with randomized enemies and events!
  • Compete in 3 new leaderboards for solo, duo and trio scores!
  • Enjoy other goodies like a new environment, achievements and music!
  • Featuring the new and improved steel plate hex, state-of-the-art craftsmanship of the KING’s own forges! Unfortunately, it has virtually no affect on towers built upon them... it simply has the appearance of being tougher.
Join the fight!

Lots of fun. If you like tower defense but want a vs option, or just a new dimention to "regular" tower defense its great! Not deep but it feels very different while still scratching that tower defense itch. I bought it on sale and its still got its hooks in my 10 hours in. Love playing it against my teens kids.

The single-player part of the game is limited. Once you get past the tutorial there is not much replay value for single players. This detail wouldn't be an issue if the multi-player element wasn't so horrible. The game play is not balanced. If you want to win, spend some time on the internet to discover the couple of build orders it takes to win. There is no strategy in involved, just be the fastest to click on the coorect buttons at the appropriate time. A champanzee could be trained to play the game.

I felt in love with Tower Wars concept since the very first WMW (Wintermaul Wars), which was just a simple UMS (custom map) for Warcraft 3 game. And this was around ten years ago, around 2004-2005. Long time ago...

Tower Wars is a strategy game. It combines classical TD (tower defense) elements with a war elements, where YOU are the one who sends the troops, not the AI. It's like taking old WMW concept and creating a game based on that. And, I must agree that it ended pretty well.

It's not an easy game, tower wars requires from you a tactical thinking and the willing to practice... much. By playing this title, you'll need to balance between the offense and the defense, You'll need to decide whether to upgrade existing towers, or create new ones, between upgrading existing troops and training new ones.

What I can say about this title... It's good. Graphics are nice, it's well balanced game, I didn't find any bigger issues, and I can really recommend this game. If you've ever played a tower defense game, and you liked the concept, you'll like this one even more. If you did not, I'd still give it a try, because game is awesome and building a strong defense is as important as attacking the enemy with strong troops.

9.5/10

This review only concerns a compatbility problem with my netbook, as a reference guide for the developers and buyers. This game is not optomized to be compatible with my OS; I play on a Hewlett Packard Mini-Netbook 110-3500. It runs Windows 7 Starter, with 1GB RAM and a 32 bit op. system.

It originally opened in box format, and I was unable to choose some options to start any games, like when you need to re-calibrate a DS screen.

After finally getting in to options to see if there was a full screen format I was able to change the format, whereupon the game became even more broken. I was un-able to slide the mouse past a box area the size of my hand and then it zoomed in so far that I could only see a small portion of the main menu in a massively pixellated format.

I will be maintaining neutrality on up/down voting because I never experienced any actual gameplay.

CONCLUSION:
This game is not optimised for my version of Windows 7 on a Hewlett Packard Mini-Netbook 110-3500.

I really like TD games...this isn't totally a TD game. Yes, you have to defend your castle from the enemy, but you also have to attack them and change the path of the enemy and mine for gold. Not a great TD game 4/10

Worst optimization I've come across on Steam. Turned down all graphic settings and it still lags.
Refreshrate of about 2-3fps. While on the other hand other more graphic intensive games like skyrim gets 60 with dips on 30fps.. That's just bad.

The control scheme ... or the sluggishness. I'm not sure which is worse. They're both really bad, though.

Not much fun in single-player. Build your maze as good as you like. All to soon you will face seemingly invulnerable enemies.

Might be fun in multi-player, I never tried.

I think this game had great potential but always seems to be running slow and you can look at the games I play all of them run fine and I am talking running slow on single player.I Lowere d res, graphics everything possible but once you send your armies out in mass game slows down to the point of mind breaking annoyance. I give it 1 out of 10
