Previously Updated

Introducing the all new co-op mode!

High above the clouds, there drifts a sad, derelict remnant of a once lively little drifter town... it was ruthlessly attacked by pirates intent on sacking the plump little plum in the sky, but in their greed they sank their own ship under the weight of the first load of plunder! A tempest wind soon thereafter arrived, driving the now un-manned island town far from where it had laid anchor for trade. The inhabitants had hastily fled during the pirate attack, but in so doing left all of their goods, munitions, and rum.... LOTS OF RUM. During one of his many pleasure cruises in his glorious, kingly dirigible, the KING happened to stumble across the abandoned stockpile. He immediately seized the derelict under his sovereign authority, claiming the rum (and other less important supplies) for his own reserves. BUT!! Providentially, the surviving pirates of the pillaging snafu had regrouped and showed up just shortly after the KING set up base, and thus found their long-lost gem in the hands of a belligerent, crown-waving buffoon. Having tasted some of the finest rum of the barrels his fat arse now reclined upon, their course of action was clear... This meant WAR!”

Key Features

  • Join up with your friends to protect the rum in the new 1-3 player co-op map, Royal Rum-Bowl!
  • Adjust and rebuild your maze after enemy pirates bomb, smash and utterly destroy your towers with randomized enemies and events!
  • Compete in 3 new leaderboards for solo, duo and trio scores!
  • Enjoy other goodies like a new environment, achievements and music!
  • Featuring the new and improved steel plate hex, state-of-the-art craftsmanship of the KING’s own forges! Unfortunately, it has virtually no affect on towers built upon them... it simply has the appearance of being tougher.
Join the fight!

Tower Wars is an interesting idea bogged down by its excessive attempts to condense and entire tower defense experience into a single match.

The basic concept of Tower Wars is a competitive TD game where you control both the towers and the enemies, and have to balance throwing tons of grunts at the enemy castle while building up your own defenses to keep theirs away. Adding onto this is a huge upgrade tree, from unlocking new grunt types, to passive upgrades for all units, to upgrading your towers and already unlocked grunts. Essentially everything can be upgraded several times over, and with a limited amount of resources you need to pay careful attention to what you invest in or else be overrun by the other player.

If this sounds like a lot to take in, that's because it is. Tower Wars is absurdly involved, as it takes the features that would normally be slowly added over the course of a typical TD game and instead gives you them all for the one self contained match you are already in. As a result it's incredibly overwhelming, and causes matches to stretch on for far longer than they have any right to. The tutorial match alone took nearly an hour, and my first match against the easiest AI opponent in the game about 30 minutes more (which ultimately ended in my defeat). If you're going up against a real human opponent of equal skill, expect this time per match to only rise further, which creates a huge commitment on the player that could ultimately prove for naught.

Ultimately Tower Wars asks too much of the player without giving them a reason to stick with it through the long periods of tedium that inevitably occur after the first 10-15 minutes when you've placed most of your towers and begin the long game of tug of war, as you incrementally chip away at each other's castles until someone gets a lucky break and finally pushes through. The concept is a really neat one, but the way it's executed here is dull and overly complex to the point I was begging for defeat simply so the match would be over. I love TD games, probably more than I should, but nothing about Tower Wars ever manifested itself into anything fun or engrossing and just left me feeling like I'd wasted my time and had nothing to show for it.

The mods were so much fun, so it's awesome that SuperVillain made an actual game to pretty much officially kick off the genre! Basically, not only you can set up your towers and maze to defend, but you also can send out your own armies to attack the other castle! Lots of units to unlock and upgrade by using an tech tree. It supports local hosted and ranked matches, so you can play with friends until you're ready to head out into a ranked match.

Game : 8.0/10

Lots of fun. If you like tower defense but want a vs option, or just a new dimention to "regular" tower defense its great! Not deep but it feels very different while still scratching that tower defense itch. I bought it on sale and its still got its hooks in my 10 hours in. Love playing it against my teens kids.

when you first start the game tips can be helpfull. These Tower Wars tips can be really usefull when you are learning the game.of course,if the game is called TOWER wars you must place towers. At the start of the game when enemy mr.moopsys are coming you should get arrow towers. Once your opponent is sending units with armour, (the yellow bar on top of the health bar) or is sending knights or zoombots you should get cannons. Once the units are coming with shields (the ring that goes around there body) you HAVE to place electricity towers. And yes, sending units. You NEED to send units to earn BP.With BP you can get miners, more units, upgrade units and upgrade your castle. And try upgrading units. Don't think you can't upgrade your units because of the lock. And buy miners and upgrade your mines. If you get it have fun :)

This game is awesome. It is a tower defense game but you have to defend your castle and attack to your opponent at the same time. Also it has a great co-op part. You can play a 1vs1 game with your friend. Absolutely recommended if you love this genre <3

I felt in love with Tower Wars concept since the very first WMW (Wintermaul Wars), which was just a simple UMS (custom map) for Warcraft 3 game. And this was around ten years ago, around 2004-2005. Long time ago...

Tower Wars is a strategy game. It combines classical TD (tower defense) elements with a war elements, where YOU are the one who sends the troops, not the AI. It's like taking old WMW concept and creating a game based on that. And, I must agree that it ended pretty well.

It's not an easy game, tower wars requires from you a tactical thinking and the willing to practice... much. By playing this title, you'll need to balance between the offense and the defense, You'll need to decide whether to upgrade existing towers, or create new ones, between upgrading existing troops and training new ones.

What I can say about this title... It's good. Graphics are nice, it's well balanced game, I didn't find any bigger issues, and I can really recommend this game. If you've ever played a tower defense game, and you liked the concept, you'll like this one even more. If you did not, I'd still give it a try, because game is awesome and building a strong defense is as important as attacking the enemy with strong troops.

9.5/10

I had a lot of fun trying out this game. It has a good twist on the tower defense style by allowing both offense and defense into the fold.

Tower Wars is another fun while it lasted tower defense game... you'll play it for a while ... leave ... come back to it. This one has really good graphics and is set in a medieval/modern world. Narrator dialogue has the right amount of humor... new twists on weaponry & upgrades are also good. Multiplayer is also fun. The upgraded graphics in this tower defense game will tax a normal video card as is reflected in some of the comments in the community HUB. However, I have had no issues or crashes... the game looks/runs very well, but I am running a 4G video card :-)

I would recommend this game for anyone who enjoys to play/collect tower defense games... it's a good one to have in library.

This isn't a bad game but I don't like the mouse controls to place towers. I don't comprehend why they chose the paper style G.U.I. either.I like Royal Defense better. It's more traditional and intuative.

Steampunk themed Tower Attack/Defense game. Lets you place your own towers to path the enemy for maximum damage. Makes you think ahead when sending out attack units. The tutorial was well done and critical to being able to play this game at all. Not bad.

Quick, fun and challenging game. It's like playing a game of chess almost, once you get your speed up and can anticipate what your opponent is going to do, you will be fine.

If you like Tower Defence games then you will like this. I'ts a pretty straight forward TD where you use tiles to try and "maze" the creeps with towers. The selction of towers isn't terrible and it is pretty fun at first. The matches tend to run on and on and on. I once had to just leave my game browser open and go to sleep during a match just to finish it. Some matches can take hours. My main problem with this game is matches tend to never. I'd say if it goes on sale buy it, if not maybe wait.
