Workaround Blocker Listening Post

Hi all,

as some of you have already reported there is a mean blocker in Deponia. Some of you are trapped at the listening post because the game doesn’t allow you to leave the scene although it should. This means that the arrow is missing that would guide you to the next screen. This problems appears if you used the waiting number ticket with Lotti at the post office before. This action brings up the blocker at the listening post.

[In some rare cases this action leads to another blocker where the guide bold isn’t activated, too.]

What to do now?

A: Reload an old savegame and play again until you meet Lotti and then don’t use the waiting number ticket with Lotti. Instead you can use the dialogue option “Is it my turn now?” and get the same answer as for the ticket.

B: If you don’t want to play again or don’t have an old savegame just send us an email via support@daedalic.de to get a new savegame.

What we do next?

We are working on a patch and we’ll let you know asap when this one is going live. Until then we ask for your patience.

Thank you!

Best,
Your Daedalic Team

About This Game

Daedalic Entertainment, once called “Lucasarts from Germany“ by the GameStar magazine, invites the players into a fantastic comedy adventure that revolves around a crazy love story of Rufus and Goal.

In Deponia, the world has degenerated into a vast garbage dump, in which the crotchety Rufus ekes out his sorry existence. He is part of the lowest social class, doomed to live his life in literal mountains of trash. He hopes for an opportunity to get into the world of the rich, who live in a floating city high above the clouds. Fate seems to smile on the snotty good-for-nothing when one day the attractive lady named Goal from the higher sector plummets into one of the trash heaps. Rufus decides to help the young woman out by taking her back to her husband. When he notices that Goal's husband is a dead ringer for himself, he hatches a diabolical scheme to gain access to the upper world. However, things don't work out quite as planned, since he has feelings for the beauty which limits his usual unscrupulousness.

Help Rufus, the poor boy from the junkyard, to win over the girl from heaven. Only with this rich girl from his dreams he might be able to escape Deponia and, unexpectedly, to save the planet.

Good game with a nice story.

✓ Nice story.
✓ Great sound track and voice act.

✖ Sometimes annoying with hard puzzles.
(puzzles can be skiped but the achievement will be missed)

Germany. Elegant cars, cold winter, awesome beer. Ok, I'm definitely relying too much on stereotypes, but from now on we could surely add "very nice point and click adventure games" to that list. Interesting enough, german developers released a lot of good adventure games in the last few years, becoming probably the main contributor to this little "renaissance" of the point and click genre. And Deponia is one the best examples.

Someone described Daedalic as "the European Lucasarts" and I'm not entirely sure I can agree to that, but their games are solid. Very good story, challenging puzzles, polished graphics, everything is surely above average, Deponia is definitely a nice game. Characters are crazy enough to make you often laugh, A LOT of location to explore, non linear puzzle solving, and Daedalic recently added new languages, which is always kind. As a first chapter of a trilogy Deponia works just fine, the player is always pushed to play more to see how the plot will evolve. I got stuck two or three times, which is great in my opinion, 'cause it means they focused a lot on the intellectual challenge of the game and not only on the narrative side.

Definitely worth a shot, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Remember the classic animated point-and-click adventures? Well here it is again with updated mechanics and even more off-color humor. Great story and lots of DLC to you laughing for months (assuming you're a really slow player).

As fan of adventure games, and one who has grown up on Monkey Island series and later games like Full throttle and Sanitarium, I was excited about playing this game... until 5 minutes in, when I got stuck first time. Ok, I google-it, found solution and continue on... for next 5 min, until I got stuck AGAIN! And after looking up on google for solution once more, I figured out system how this game works; enter area, play pixel hunting to find all clickable items so that you can collect them, then try out all items from inventory on all noncollectable items in that room, and if that doesn't work, then try to combine all items in your inventory one with another till you get new item. When you craft new item, try him out with everything in room, and then with everything in your inventory (because sometimes you have to combine more items to get something useful)... And if after all of that, you didn't do anything that will progress story further on, go to next area and repeat procedure. And you have to do all of that due to twisted and borderline insane logic behind all puzzles in this game, so there is very little things that will be logical at first (or ever).
So, does that sound like fun? For me it didn't... So I grabbed first walk-trough I found online, and finished game with it, and that makes me sad because characters (except main character), visuals, humor, animation and atmosphere are wonderful... Shame.

And I really can't say that I liked main character in this game (he is borderline sociopath); maybe they intended to do that, but It just make me dislike him in general, and If I don't like main character, I tend to like game less (this is personal preference, so take that that in consideration). And there are some questionable moral agendas in this game regarding females....

Overall, I don't recommend this game, due to insane puzzles that barely make any sense, and they reduce game to tedious clicking and trying out everything on everything until you make something new.

I really, really want to like this game. I really, really do. The art is pretty, and I usually love point-and-click adventure games with comedic bends, but Deponia just falls flat. Some of the jokes are pretty funny, but Rufus falls on the wrong side of the line between "charming/witty/loveable jerk" and just plain "jerk" more often than not. It's really difficult for me to enjoy playing a game when the main character grates on me so badly.

I was given Deponia as a gift by a friend, as a point and click I can play on Mac.
It's been fun and the puzzles are fun and the animation is good. However, near the end of the game there is a gamebreaking bug that prevents any progress whatsoever. Good luck contacting customer services for assistance; they have taken two weeks so far to get back to me on this issue and I am still waiting for any useful feedback.
Recommended only if you like a pretty fun game only to crash near the end, preventing you from ever finishing!

Deponia is a comedic point & click adventure game very similar to the Lucas Arts classics Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle.

I'm assuming that you are already familiar with the genre, so I'll keep this short and sweet.

Pros: Fluid animation, high resolution graphics, good soundtrack, interesting plot, funny dialog.

Cons: Puzzles are thrown in with arbitrary handicaps and do not contribute to the plot or integrate well. The writers got lazy a few times and used the item descriptions from looking at an object as the narration when using the item as well. It gets annoying hearing the same line multiple times when exploring or experimenting.

Recommendation: If you like this sort of game, get it. You can always look up a walkthrough to deal with the puzzles.

Warning: This comedy in a later episode gets quite dark. If you cannot stomach Southpark type humor, then you're better off skipping this trilogy.

This game was decently fun. I don't usually play point and click adventure puzzle games but this one is a lot of fun. I wasn't crazy about the cliffhanger ending and I think they should have just combined both deponia games into one. It's very much like the monkey Island games albeit a bit short. Some of the time I could get through the puzzles on my own while other times I used a walkthrough. Still it is good fun though I wouldn't spend much more then a buck or two on it.

Un dessin-animé point and click bien ficelé. Certes les énigmes sont un peu tirées par les cheveux mais bon ça reste fun, bien animé et pas trop buggé.

Par contre c'est un premier épisode. Le jeu n'est pas fini hein, je vous aurais prévenu!

A prendre en promo.

One thing you need to know about this trilogy is that it gets better and better. In short, this game made me ROTFL every few minutes, it is challenging but rarely frustrating. Wait for it to be on sale and buy a copy for you and one for your best friend. Totally worth it.

This series.

What can I say.

This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ series. Has. EVERYTHING that makes a point-and-click adventure game work. Fantastic puzzles, insane and colorful characters, a story that simulateously makes you laugh and cry with Rufus at the same time.

Speaking of our egotistical main character, never before have I wanted to give a fictional game character a slap and a hug at the same time. The dude is unbelieveably self-centered, but at the same time he tried his best to keep his shenanigans from harming people. He wants to leave Deponia, but he can't just let people call Deponians trash. The planet? Yeah it's trash, but the people mean well and are just trying to get by, and are in no way trash.

This character. This world.

THIS SERIES. IS. AMAZING.
