it is fun because it is south park, and it has pretty much replay value, since you have 4 classes to play.

TLDR: If you're a fan of South Park, you'll like this game. Controller Recommended.

Despite a troubled development (THQ closing), Stick of Truth has shown how to make a liscenced game right. Every second of the game makes you feel like you're playing an episode of the show. You could even say this is the closest thing to a second South Park movie if you want to go that far. You're the new kid who's moved into town and your new friends (and Cartman) help you learn the basics of the game. Fans of the show will be treated to references across at least the first 14 seasons of the show, and there are points that even feel like fanservice. Combat follows a Paper Mario like set up, with your partners being one of six SP kids. However unlike Paper Mario the "action commands" in this case seem a bit more forced. The custom made graphical style means that game always runs in real time, even during cutscenes. Said cutscenes glitch occasionally with either you popping in and out between shots or lip sync being slow. Trey and Matt's involvement is clear from the start, with this being the best lampoon of the RPG genre this decade so far.

Length: 10 Hours

Should you buy this: If you're a fan of South Park, add this to your cart. If not it's a bit of a tougher sell. If you're a fan of RPGs though it's worth a look.

Worth: I would say $15, but most sales I end up seeing this game for less than $8 so wait for that.

This was definitely the funniest game that i've ever played, hands down. i can honestly say i laughed a couple dozen times throughout my playthrough. This was a game that was sitting in my steam library for a bit over a year and i'm really glad i finally got around to giving it a shot. The turn-based fighting combat system was pretty good, and the interface was pretty well laid out and easy to use,

My only 2 complaints about this whole game was the fact that i had to check a walkthrough about 4-5 times to figure out how to get to a certain area simply because it took me forever learning how to navagate some certain areas that you had to get to during the quests in this game, if some of the areas were a little better layed out for me, or atleast gave you hints of how to get to the next area after 5 minutes of struggling to do so, it would make this game near perfect.

My other complaint was that it was a little too short in my opinion. According to steam, it took me only 17 hours to complete the game and all of it's side quests in its entirety (and that's while taking frequent breaks with the game still running). I was dissapointed to feel that a game i enjoyed so much was over in what seemed to be such a short amount of time, but hey, maybe that's just because time flies when you're having fun.

If i had to rate this game, i would probably give it an even 9/10. Definitely one of the best buys you can get during a steam sale when its price is 50-75% off.

I peed on a poop and threw it a hobo near Kenny's "guesthouse", he peed on a poop and threw a poop back. I'm currently awaiting my STD testing results, 10/10 would visit the free clinic again and grab a handful of condoms when the staff isn't looking.

South Park: The Stick of Truth is a turned-based RPG. As the new kid in South Park, you get involved in a LARP opposing Cartman's Humans against Kyle's Elves, while the quiet little mountain town is place to events beyond what the kids anticipated.

Pros: This is a South Park fan's heaven, filled with fan service from across all seasons, with almost every characters from the show making an appearance or being referenced at some level. Most loot are winks to episodes: a sarcastiball trophy, a shake weight, an Antonio Banderas love doll, an Okama Gamesphere, and hundreds more. If an episode reference wasn't in the loot, it's out there on display in a kid's room or closet. Every shop or radio play songs from the show (Chef, Jennifer Lopez, DVDA songs, you name it). Matt Stone and Trey Parker's very-involved participation shows everywhere: the voice acting, the politically incorrect script and often down right disgusting language, the humor and how it critiques society. You feel like you're an actual character in South Park, forth wall breaks saved by the fact that you're playing a game about playing a game, and the kids' play-pretend opens "spells" and "attacks" effects to completely crazy scenarios. Graphically, it looks exactly like the show, nothing groundbreaking but exactly what you'd expect.

Cons: The game is extremely basic with little depth in the mechanics, combat being a bare-bone turn-based system with timed button-pressing. You pick one of four unoriginal classes ("Jew" is just a stand-in for the typical RPG "priest") with small skill trees each. You can equip up to 2 weapons and 3 pieces of armor (although some have a customizable perk slot or two), none of which are class-specific. Creating your own character in the South Park universe is unfortunately limited, most character customization will have to wait in-game for you to find wigs, face paint and armor dye, so that you finally have a character that looks like you want. The story is short with few complexity an relies strictly on its humor to keep it interesting. If you skip the exploration (something only fans will care for) and few optional sidequests, you'll probably be through the game within 10 hours.

Verdict: ★★★★☆ - Next on your list

If you are not a fan of South Park, STAY AWAY! But if you are, this is an unquestionable must have. To the fan, it's a Season worth of content, jokes, running gags and nostalgia. If you have any interest in South Park: The Fractured But Whole, start with this game first.

This was just my opinion.

Pure comedic gold, a fantastic working of the TV show in to a game, as f-d up as you'd expect (and more), really very enjoyable exploring South Park and lots of references to all the characters and episodes. Turns out i'm not a fan of turn based rpgs, but it doesnt matter as nothing is off limits in this game! If you like the show, this game is a must have.

Holy sh|t, what a ride.

Obsidian hit every single mark and checkbox with this one. They hit the nail on its head, the plank on the jump, and the ball outta the park - and into space.

Everything about the game is brilliant and so true to its origins that it's almost scary. More than anything, it feels like watching a marathon of all the best stuff the show has had to offer through the years. It's been a while since I saw any South Park episodes, but this game has convinced me to start watching the show again.

I haven't laughed this hard and loud in what feels like forever - there where moments when I had to pause the game before continuing because my sides were hurting so much. I swear I had tears in my eyes at one point.

Sure, the jokes may be hit and miss if you're not a fan of the show, but then again, why would you even have the game, or be interested in playing it? This is a gift to the fans and for my part, I loved every second of it. It put a big, fat smile on my face and wouldn't let go until my stomach had been churned to oblivion from so many insane pranks and jokes.

I got this gifted, but would have been happy to pay full price for this South Park masterpiece. I see it has already Overwhelmingly Positive recommendations, both recent and old, and I just have to agree - this game is truly a gem and an absolute must if you have the slightest interest in South Park and its bizarre lore and inhabitants. Wholeheartedly recommended to every wizard, ranger, thief, druid, bard - and new kid around.
