I am not a person who likes buying duplicate products.
But humble had it at too good a deal to pass up...

Still own my dreamcast and the game. just as fun as original and they have made improvements on it (like stat sheet for chao...god I'd of killed for this back in the day...)

First stage (city escape) IS bugged...the truck at the end is prevalent anytime you jump and also mostly it is the top border of screen :| (but apart from that no real other bugs)

If you loved the game on dreamcast, lost it or don't mind duplicate products, buy it. you will enjoy it :)
If you never played a sonic game? Buy it. its one of the better ones.
Just like Chao? Why don't you own this yet?

10/10

p.s. the character music is still awesome.

This game is amazing. There are issues with the game like in city escape, the top spine of sonic player model is replaced with the truck but that's the only real glitch I found. All other glitch was just the same as the original and most the glitches are helpful rather than negative. If you love sonic, you will love this game. There are mods to fix issues and I will link it here soon but this game is worth the money!

I played the crap out of this on my GameCube when I was a kid so finding it on here was great. The sonic and shadow levels are great, the treasure hunting gets annoying but its really not too bad. Overall this is definitely one of the better 3d sonic games, and has the best homing attack in the series. I don't know how many hours I put into the chao garden, but now steam can tell me now :p

Alright, I love this game. I really do, its my guilty pleasure. But not this port. Anything but this port. First off, lets discuss the first level. If running on an Integrated GPU (like me) its bassicly unplayable. Theres a huge bus on top of Sonics character model, blocking the view, and it doesnt go away until the scene changes into the truck chase. Really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... right? Oh no, trust me. Theres more. Theres a few bad lighting issues, but nothing causing the game to be unplayable. I decided to play further and actually enjoyed the game until the Metal Harbor level. I decided to go to my room and play, a spot where i get no internet access. Remember where i said it gets worse? Well, a message popped up on my screen. "An internet connection is required" Oh sieg hell no...immeditely closed the game, realised i had a playtime of 87 minutes, and returned it. Please dont play this port at all.

My favorite game of all time. It still lives up to the memories, and I think it has aged pretty well (unlike the first one).

The story is the cake itself, and the Chao Garden is the icing on the cake. And everybody loves the icing.

And the edgy black hedgehog is the cherry on top of the icing.

One of the best platforming games ever made, Sonic Adventure 2 marks the end of an era of high quality Sonic games. This high definition version is a real improvement over the original releases, keeping the good parts such as story, soundtrack, gameplay and increasing the details of its graphics. The major letdown is the lack of an online multiplayer mode. Even if you're not exactly a Sonic fan, this game's a MUST have and MUST be played.

Roll around at the speed of sound. . . straight to the Chao Garden
Follow your rainbow. . . if it leads to the Chao Garden
Guess what lies ahead. . . it's the Chao Garden
Set me free. . . from this abysmal story and take me to the Chao Garden

A masterpiece. I have no idea how they packed such replayability into a linear, story based game but Sega did, and gave us THE best platformer ever.

Man, it's nearly 12 years since I played this on the console, and I still remember this game fondly. The story, the various aspects/upgrades for each character, the multiplayer, the Chao garden, all incredible stuff.

This game is also moddable (to an extent), so if you have a thing for that, you're in luck!

I only have one minor problem with this game:
The fact that the Battle DLC is something that you have to purchase. I personally think this was not a good idea, it should have been included with the base game.

If you're in need of a nostalgia trip to the early 2000s, and you're a fan of the Sonic franchise, then by all means, get this game.

If you need me, I'm gonna be wasting my life, taking care of these adorable Chao that for some reason I named after my Steam friends.

This is perhaps the best 3D sonic game from 15 years ago, but it hasn't aged well. Here's my poorly-organized "review":

Just like in the first Sonic Adventure game, you can play as several familiar "hero" characters, including Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. In addition, you can also play as a few "dark" characters, including Eggman, Shadow, and Rouge. There are three stage types: running until you reach the end of a level whilst going very fast (Sonic and Shadow stages), making your way through an area in a mechanical bipedal "thing" whilst shooting things with guns and lasers (Tails and Eggman stages), and hunting for jewels or keys whilst flying (Knuckles and Rougue stages).

The best stages are the Sonic and Shadow ones; they are very fast and are a blast to play. The Tails and Eggman stages are slow in pace, which becomes boring in later stages (you go through them wondering "when can I play a Sonic or Shadow stage and have fun again?"), though the shooting parts can be fun. Finally, the Knuckles and Rouge stages are the worst: you can only hunt down one jewel or key at a time, unlike the prequel, which showed how far or near you were to all items at all times. The first few Knuckles stages are pretty fun, but the ones near the end of the game are a crapshoot; you just have to explore massive areas for ten or fifteen minutes before you find what you're looking for. Plus, if you want to get an "A" score, you can't access the hint computers, so these stages become nothing more than a boring guessing game.

The story is more complex than those found in past Sonic games, but not by much. I won't explain further in fear of spoiling it for you...

Outside of the stellar Sonic and Shadow stages (and tedious/mundane Tails, Eggman, Knuckles, and Rogue stages), there are boss rush modes, a fun kart racing game, a multiplayer racing game (this is surprisingly fun), and more. However, perhaps the best part of the entire game is raising Chao--little Tamagotchi-like creatures. I've spent dozens of hours feeding, training, and breeding these things on the GameCube version of the game. Maxing out all of your Chao's stats, giving it a name, training it, breeding it, and sending it to school is incredible. Maybe I'm blinded by nostalgia, but I just can't explain how much fun this is.

If you grew up playing the Sonic Adventure games like I did, and want to experience some sweet nostalgia, get this game. Otherwise, this game may not be for you. The game hasn't aged well; the graphics are poor, the camera is weird at times, it is riddled with glitches, and the voice acting is terrible. These things may persuade you against getting the game, but if you're blinded by nostalgia like I am, the imperfections add to the flavor.
