Rolling around at the speed of sound,
Got places to go, gotta follow my rainbow!
Can't stick around, have to keep moving on,
Guess what lies ahead, only one way to find out!
Must keep on moving ahead,
No time for guessing, follow my plan instead.
Trusting in what you can't see,
Take my lead I'll set you free.

Follow me, set me free,
Trust me and we will escape from the city.
I'll make it through, follow me.
Follow me, set me free,
Trust me and we will escape from the city.
I'll make it through prove it to you.

Follow me!
Oh yeah!

Danger is lurking around every turn,
Trust your feelings, got to live and learn!
I know with some luck that I'll make it through,
Got no other options, only one thing to do!
I don't care what lies ahead,
No time for guessing, follow my plan instead.
Find the next stage, no matter what that may be.
Take my lead, I'll set you free.

Follow me, set me free,
Trust me and we will escape from the city.
I'll make it through, follow me.
Follow me, set me free,
Trust me and we will escape from the city.
I'll make it through, prove it to you.

Follow me!

I'll make it through,
Oh Yeah!

Incredible game. I spent a large portion of my childhood playing this, whether it was racing, force-feeding Chao or doing Mad Space hide and seeks with my cousin.

Aside for the obvious HD remaking, it hasn't changed. It's still that great exhilaration I remember. And now that I'm older and a much more adept gamer, I feel the need to perfect it :) halfway there already!

There are three types of stages, meaning you're three times as likely to get hooked on the game's playstyle! There are Sonic and Shadow's racing stages, obvious objective there. There are then Tails and Eggman's shooting/recon stages where you must reach the end leaving as much destruction in your wake as possible. And finally, my favourite, Knuckles and Rouge's treasure hunt stages, where you are equipped with a proximity radar which flashes a colour depending on how far you are from the gem you are trying to find. The objective is a best-of-3 gem hunt.

Seriously, if you're a fan of single player campaigns with astounding replay value and games where you can spend many hours playing to perfect your score or shave milliseconds off your time, this is a high HIGH recommendation.

Often regarded by fans as "the best Sonic 3D title ever!" Sonic Adventure 2 is a must buy for anyone who loves Sonic, or good platforming in general. A nice story told through 3 different "arcs" with fun gameplay and lots of replaybility, this game is truly one of the best Sonic games ever.
Pros:
+40-60 hours of gameplay
+3 diffrent types of gameplay each with fun mechanics
+30 different enormous stages to explore (each with 5 missions to keep you playing)
+Great soundtrack with memorable tracks (Live & Learn, City Escape, Sonic's Theme :D)
+CHAO RAISING (onion headed mutant/animal babies racing and beating the crap out of each other!!!)
+Secrets and hidden goodies EVERYWHERE!!!
+Multiplayer is fun (for the most part)
Cons:
-Repetitive and boring kart mini-game (you have to play it twice in the story, plus another 11 times in missions and mini games if you want all 180 emblem -_-)
-Some glitches here and there
-Lip syncing is messed up during cutscenes and voice acting sucks sometimes (Not Eggman, he sounds AWESOME :3)
-Questionable development decisions (WHY are the bounce bracelet and light speed dash activated with the same button!!!??? Why can the radar only detect ONE emerald at a time when it could detect ALL in SA1??? >:0)
*In conclusion. should you buy this game? ABSOLUTELY YES!!! For only $9.99 this game is definitely worth every penny!!!! It's fun, challenging, will keep you busy for quite a while, and will show you what the Sonic franchise is capable of making.

Sonic Adventure 2 was a title most Dreamcast owners were curious over about how different it would handle things over it's predecessor, and back in it's day it was met with mixed reactions. (Very much like the first Sonic Adventure) Usually most people praise the gameplay sections of Sonic and Shadow for the more straightforward platforming action gameplay, but berate the clunky platform and shooting-segments from Tails/Dr. Eggman's stages, and the incredibly large and oftentimes tedious stage design of Knuckles/Rouge's treasure hunting stages. Although met with mixed reactions, Sonic Adventure 2 was overall regarded as one of the better outings SEGA's mascot has received in his 3D career.

With the game's release on Steam, I've tried this game out after I played the Gamecube port many years ago on, and personally I think it's a pretty decent port with HD graphics, a curious leaderboard system for the really hardcore fans of this game, and the 'Battle' content originally from the Gamecube port as DLC, which includes a pretty decent 2-player vs. mode and a overhaul of the main menu theme and other minor extra's.

The game's divided into 3 main gameplay modes, which you tackle as 3 characters on both the Hero and Dark side of the spectrum, complete with their own set of stages. As explained above the characters' gameplay styles are very drastically different, and most newcomers will often struggle with even finishing alot of the stages past the first few ones in the story, because of the somewhat harsh difficulty curve in the stage design. A new mechanic introduced in this game was the ranking system, in where dependant on how fast you cleared the stages and how well you overall did in your run, the higher the score, which is oftentimes easier said than done. Frequent issues were the rather clunky camera angles that shifted all over the place during gameplay, and you can't manually control the camera while moving around, alot of the enemies in Tails/Dr. Eggman's stages wold often spawn out of nowhere and collide with your character, taking a big chunk of damage and risking their high score streak, and that you can only detect one objective out of 3 at a time in the Knuckles/Rouge stages, and they usually randomize with the locations of the items, requiring you to both know the large stage layout and also collect them as quickly as possible, making A-ranking alot of the stages quite a difficult task in itself.

There's also the Chao Garden in where you can raise your virtual pet Chao, either for time-wasting fun, or to have them compete in races or karate mini-games. It's a nice distraction and improvement from the Chao Garden system in the original game, but raising them can be very time-consuming (unless you use a in-game glitch mechanic to abuse it) and you have to remain in the actual Chao Garden to wait for your Chao to mature and grow better stats. It's a alright inclusion, but nothing I would spend time on personally.

Flaws aside, Sonic Adventure 2 is still a title worth playing if you're a big fan of the blue hedgehog and it's a moderate price on the Steam Shop. Just don't expect too have a easy time on the game if you're trying to shoot for all the unlockable content in the game.

"This is Knuckles, and I'm back
I've been away for a while
But I'm here to kick some butt in Wild Canyon
I shall find all the pieces of the Master Emerald here
I'm gonna get those fools
They wanna play with my emeralds
They playin' with the wrong guy

E-chi-do-na, that's what I'm represtin'
Never seen a mic hog spit like a menace
Wild Canyon fun, I gotta chase a bat, ha
Yeah, Rouge, she's sexy and smooth
A double-cross spy thief that's out for my jewels, ah
I feel her watch in mysterious ways
That's why I stay on point like every single day
I gotta protect this place I do it for my race, ah, ah

Yeah, you know how it is
Yo, yo
Throw your hands up
Come on, come on

Ain't nobody gonna come here and eat my plate, no
Yo, what happened, my emerald's gone
Somebody gonna get theirs quick, my word is bond
Who coulda did this? That snitch named Rouge
When I catch her, I'm'a get her with these tools
There you are, c'mere little thief
Think you can fly and get away quick, uh-uh
Give up the emerald or die, I don't love you

Yeah, you know how it is
Yo, yo
Throw your hands up
Come on, come on"

If there was ever an enjoyable Sonic game that was ported over to the PC it would be this game. But while the other Sonic Adventure was available for the PC at one point (2 disc version) this one came a little too late. However for those HD purists this game supports HD resolutions and fast load times. Just make sure you have an XBOX 360 Controller as this game is way too hard with the keyboard. For those people who have integrated Intel HD cards that supports pixel and vertex shading, you may have a hard time with the beginning level of the game where a certain portion of the game does not render propery (it starts with a truck going downhill) It won't happen on non intel cards however. Worth it to check it out though if it's on a sale. Being I was a huge Sonic fan however I did buy it the day it was released as this was the one that I wanted when it was finally released over the other Sonic games.

Another amazing Sega game, and arguably their final good one of the Sonic franchise. It is just as memorable and fun as the original Sonic Adventure game, but lacks the 'small' amount of free roam it used to have. You select from two teams: Hero and Dark, from which you play as 3 characters in a sequence of missions until the end-game and final boss, which I won't talk about as I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone.

I played this game when it came out on the Dreamcast, just like Sonic Adventure, and was never disappointed. It as another one of those games I could play day in and day out and holds many memories for me. You are assigned a grade for each level, E, D, C, B and A - A being the best. There are 5 stages to each level with a different objective so that you won't be left with nothing to do. Unless your a pro like me of course;) Ahem, anyways...

Once all stages are complete with Hero and Dark stories, you unlock a final story.

Now let's not forget why we all really play any of the Sonic Adventure games...CHAO!
This game features 3 Chao gardens. A Neutral, Hero and Dark. Hero and Dark gardens can only be unlocked when you have raised a Chao with the respective sided characters. The Chao land features a school, where you can buy items at the Black Market, put your Chao into classes to be taught dances, drawing, instruments and other nice abilities or go to the Fortune Teller to get a badass name. Many hours will be spent here, just like in the previous game. You can send your Chao into races as always to win medals and items for your Chao and also put them into karate matches if you have the DLC.

All in all, it's an amazing game and plays smoother than Sonic Adventure did originally, however both amazing games!

10/10.

I can't get started on how ♥♥♥♥ing good this game is. Seriously, it's the best game ever! It's the fastest game you'll ever play, I promise you that. I have literally spent my entire life playing this game. I know all the super speedy shortcuts and where all the hidden chaos emeralds are. I love playing as Knuckles and Tails too, those guys are chill in real life. One complaint is that you can play as Dr. Eggman, who in my opinion is the evilest villian in the world, and I think allowing us to play as him is distasteful, much like a game featuring Adolf Hitler as a playable character would be. However, I'm willing to look past that and still rate this 11/10 on speed alone.

Sonic in his prime.

You hear about Sonic games sucking horribly now-a-days. Let me tell you. THIS ISN'T LIKE CURRENT SONC
This is the best 3D Sonic game out there, right there next to Sonic Adventure 1/dx.
It's speedy, fun, and has good replay value.
It's not unpolished and crappy like Sonic Boom and it's not glitchy and broken like Sonic 06.
It's what Sonic should be.
