Really interesting idea for a game. Hard enough to be challenging and fun.

Works flawlessly in stereoscopic 3D, and looks terrific!

good for brainstorming...but lack of help or guide or tutorial make hard to understand the full concept of the game...

This is a really fun demo, and it should be made into a full game as soon as possible. Essentially, it's a tower defense game on steroids, with graphics right out of games like the Portal series (as one reviewer mentioned), all of which you can kind of see from the screenshots. While it takes some getting used to at first, it'll have you scrambling to marshal your defenses in very short order, trying to figure out how to survive the round. The gameplay itself isn't really taught to you, other than via some helpful diagrams in the background, but it doesn't have to be. The learning curve is very small and what to do is extremely intuitive, for the most part. The only real challenge is in how exactly to do what you know must be done, and that does quickly become a true challenge indeed. The only real downside that I've found is that it is very addicting.

It's quite an interesting concept. Basically it's a tower defense game, but you don't just build towers and leave or upgrade them like normal tower defense's. You physically build your towers by dragging different block parts and building different types of towers, so there's a lot of manual work, but it makes a lot of sense! It's a very cool game, and I like the style. Back end graphics could be improved (like resolutions settings and anti-aliasing), but it's free and definitly worth a shot!

It does, however, lack the addictiveness of other tower defense games when your towers aren't being destroyed and waves keep on coming in in large hoards. Neat concept, but it could be a bit better... but it's just a game concept! Give it a shot!

I hate Tower defense games. But this is different. If you're like me and hate all the TDs out there, you'll still enjoy toying around with the bits and pieces the level throws at you. The stacks could be a little more rigid, though…

This game is awesome and the graphics kind of look like they should be in Portal 3, which is why I like it.

Woah this game is great. Just a game demo but it's free, so try it! A cool tower defense where you build your own towers out of any shape, very physics based. If you like tower defenses of any kind you really should try this, it's great!

The White Laboratory is a tower defense game with a Portal aesthetic. The game is of decent length for and indy "demo" but its not complicated so you can just pick up and play. I enjoyed playing The White Laboratory and I am sure you might as well, especially if you are a fan of tower defense games.

I was randomly looking thru steams demo's and found this. It's another tower defense game, yeah. Like Defense Grid, Sol Survivor, and probably a hundred other titles.
But in all reality, TWL beats all other tower defense games in terms of originality while sticking to the basics of a TD game. I would say if you like TD games, give this one a shot!
Create your own custom towers. They could be able to spin while shooting 1-5 shots, and have it effect it realistically in terms of physics. You can block enemy paths or add to your towers using pieces of enemies you've destroyed(TWL's way of leveling up).
I thought this was a demo to a game going to be released later, but found out it was just a submission to Intel's Level Up 2011 Game Demo competition. Valve also got involved, allowing winner(s) to appear on Steam and including a possible contract.

Really nice and addictive. Must have for all fans of logical, puzzle games like portal and others. A pretty good Tower Defense as well. But as someone else mentioned, there could be some tutorial in full game. I hope this work will be continued, cause I'd like to have full game!!!
