Don't grab this one unless it's on sale. For $5USD you're getting 500 Turbine Points (normally $5 by itself), plus a quest pack that gets you through lvls 25-35 (great if you're playing without a subscription) and a striking set of cosmetics. The Steely Dawn cosmetic set's not commonly worn, so with it, you'll be sure to turn heads.

If you can get it for a low price or for free somewhere, go for it. Otherwise, this is pretty skippable.

Works fine, you need to go to your Turbine Account page and enter the Product Key under your subscription to acticate the starter pack in game. Once you do this, when you login to the game you will receive it in your inventory.

To buy or not to buy? To buy it on sale or not to buy on sale? Well here are my thoughts on it.

I bought it for full price and yes I feel satisfied for purchasing it. This bundle has the cool white cosmetics, FIVE 100%XP boosts for 1hr and the Evendim Quest pack for EVERY character you make(except for the Evendim QP, which is already saved to your account, these also are bound to your character and thus you cant give them away or auction them off) and of course the lovely 500TP. 500TP + 5XP boosts(600TP worth) + Evendim QP(595TP worth) = 1695TP networth plus cosmetics. Do note that this is a STARTER pack, it's meant for those who have just started the game and looking for a way to help them get themselves estasblished. Do NOT buy this if you've already played some considerable hours and already bought the Evendim QP via TP grinding or whatnot since the whole value of this Starter Pack will diminish a lot, but if you're still looking for something to buy then I suggest you buy the Quad Pack Bundle as it also has a lot of goodies and the 4 expansions. (but if you really want the cosmetics then go buy it since you still get some TP out of it so it's a good bonus plus the XP boosts are useful for a quicker way of leveling a new character)

I've started playing this game 4 years ago and played it very casually for about a year and just dropped the game. Now I've started playing it again and I saw this as a very good way to get started again since I ONLY use steam wallet for my gaming purchases and I don't use Humble Bundle,GOG, credit cards,Paypal, etc... so if you can get this pack for a cheaper price then by all means go buy them but if you're like me who only uses Steam then go buy this one.

TLDR : New player? Doesn't know what the hell he is doing yet but still enjoys playing this game and wants to spend some cash? Go buy it.
Somewhat not a new player? Wants to spend some cash but he doesn't really care about the XP boosts and the Evendim QP because he already has it? Don't buy this one and go check the Quad Pack instead.

Edit : You can activate this DLC by getting the CDkey for this DLC and pasting it on the in-game LoTRO Store and that means your F2P account becomes a premium one if is this your first purchase with real money. Being a premium means you can create up to 5 characters now(from the 2 for F2P), you get 5 more auctions slots, your wallet limit is 5 gold if you haven't bought the cap removal yet and you can mail gold now(limited by currency cap). You add up that extra 3 char slots(1785TP worth) plus the 5 extra auction slots(95TP worth) and that's an extra 1880 TP networth if you still have a F2P Turbine account! That makes it a total networth of 3575 TP if this is your first purchase for LoTRO with real cash! This is definitely a MUST-BUY for those are really new to the game and wants to spend cash on this game. You can also just buy TP from the LoTRO store to get premium status but the goodies you get from this pack for every character(you have and will make) is just a bit too good to pass up if you've already decided to spend for it.

A few FYIs:

- You can get this much, much cheaper if you trade for one of the old bundle codes still floating around. They still work, as of today. Mine did. You'll have to enter the code as a Steam product and then redeem its Steam ''CD Key'' on the Turbine account page. Make sure to press Yes when it asks whether to ''ugrade your current subscription'' (i.e. add it to your account).

- The items are bound to the character that receives them. I'm guessing this is going to be your most recently logged-in character.

- The armor is cosmetic, meaning any class can have it ''equipped'' while still receiving the stats from their actually equipped armor.

- Possibly the most valuable thing here is the quest pack. If you don't have the quest pack/expansion for a given level range, I think the only way to get through it is to very tediously kill mobs and/or craft, which also gives poor EXP.

Unlike most people who got this for the Turbine Points, I wanted it mostly for the armour. It looks great in the game, the only drawback being that it can't be dyed. Evendim is an essential quest pack too. This DLC is worth the money if you get it in a sale.

Its a good starter pack for new players in the game.
The cosmetics are legit. You also get 5 100% xp boosts, the Evendim quest pack, and 500 turbine points :)
I won it from a giveaway, but its a bit overpriced. I would say 15 euro max, but for the things you get from it, you pay less than you get ;)
Overall its a good boost for starters :).

I recommend this as a good starter pack. The armor is nice to have till you get better ingame, the 5 xp packs are worth 600TP points in game , the Evendim Quest area to buy ingame is another 595 TP and you get 500TP points as well, so this is a great value, on sale, its a fantastic value imo. Buy now!

I personally think this is a good starter pack especially if it is on sale. The following already makes it worth buying:

500 Turbine Points: Customize your experience in Middle-earth with 500 Turbine Points.

Evendim Quest Pack: Explore the ruined city of Annúminas on the shores of Lake Evendim and aid Aragorn in re-forging Narsil, the Blade That Was Broken!

The added plus is the Steely Dawn Cosmetic Armor Set and Five 100% XP Boosts in that order.

You get that for each character you make except for the 500 TP is a one time deal.
