**First off. I write this review not using the AMD GPU.
This was my first Spider-man game I've played since the PS1 and PS2 versions. I saw this on sale and said why the hell not. I haven't indulged in a Spider-man game for awhile, and I always remember enjoying them.
Right from the start this game brought back all the fun and excitement that I remember from the old. Same simple commands and fast paced third person fighting action.
-fast paced fighting action with smooth movements and very responsive inputs(very useful while dodging!)
-simple open-world, not too big, not too small
-long play time(even on easiest setting)
-very user friendly phone/map interface
-enjoyed the "Web-Dash," I'd consider it the "Dead Eye" from Red Dead Redemption but Spider-man style
-VERY detailed in game info, if you're into that kinda stuff. (I am!) (enemy specs, backgrounds, and info on much more)
-I very much enjoyed the battle music and the atmosphere music (**Spoiler** When you walk out from the make shift lab, and the desolation you see, with that background music just hits ya in a way that makes you feel just how bad things are.)
But of course with every game there are issues that I or anyone else may find. So here is what I found wrong.
- One issue I had was when I died, and I went back to the check point, I would move forward again, but get stuck because the coding triggers that I should have set off (like, walk in room and room should be full of robots... but isn't). Mind you I didn't know robots were suppose to come in because I had just got there, so I got stuck looking for an exit for 20 minutes until I got fed up and looked up a walkthrough in which found out that something was wrong with the game, and not me (surprisingly! ;D) This problem occured particularly on the Oscorp Tower 2 portion, so watch out for that.
- The dialogue for civilians you save from muggings don't work very often(say 60% of the time). Their mouths move, but no dialogue. Not that big of an issue, just something I noticed.
- Ok.... Seriously guys? 700 Comic pages!?!? ARE YOU FOR REAL!? Quite possibly the worst attempt to smolder up some sort of replay value. Good lord it took me 14 hours to get 200. And thats going out of my way to missions. I'm almost done with everything, and I'll still have to looks for 500 more... ya good one. Goings from "The Amazing Spider-man," to "Find 500 pieces of paper in New York City!" Pardon my French, but ♥♥♥♥ that.
- So these high speed chases. Think jumping car to car as Spider-man to stop a group of thugs speeding away sounds pretty cool right? Well, it is the first time. And I suppose the second time. But then you start to realize there are about 10 chases, and they have... wait for it... the same guys... in the same car.... and you take them down the same way..... every friggin' time. OH BUT WAIT! Its not the same! The next missions have...! Wait for it... 3 cars to the chase!... but they are the same car, with the same thugs. You just catch them 3 times in one mission. My god wheres the creativity?? At least paint the cars a different color! Or... I don't know... have Spider-man catch them in a different way? There are a lot of options, but I'm not gonna get into them
And thats all folks. Overall, I loved the game. Kept my attention, very fun, love sneakin' around as Spidy. Simple semi-linear game. Would I buy it for full price? Hell no. Like people say, the games 2 years old at this point, so $50? Pff. Good one, what do you think you are? Halo? CoD? Lolz but on sale? Sure!
And for those of you who enjoy a rating.... I give it a 7.14355/10
Hope this helped!
