What a great little karting game this is. It offers challenge and depth while still maintaining pickup and play casual fun. It has decent variety with its generously sized character roster each with their own stats and play styles as well as land, sea and air racing to keep things interesting. Definitely recommend this game.

Great racing game with some nice details, like how certain tracks actually change course in each lap. Career mode is fun and if only this game were more popular so I could play with friends.

It's like Mario Kart for PC on steriods. The tracks are all lively and energetic, with amazing music backing it up, it feels like every track is one of those rides at Universal Studios where you go into the movie and see the characters. The huge but somewhat random character selection is nice, too. Difficulty curve is mostly good, however for standard race the three star system doesn't make sense to me...you only need 3rd against easy AI for 1 star, 3rd against medium for 2 stars, but 1st against hard for 3 stars? I stuggle to get that last one, however I usually get first when going for 2 stars, and am rewarded the same as if I got 3rd. Other than that, I think this is my favorite racing game. 9/10
(Currently using JoyToKey and Mayflash Adapter to use my GameCube controller with it, it works beautifully)

This game makes you feel badass, and skill is involved in driving.

Heck, even a noob who's so terrible at racing games could still have the time of his/her life on this game.

You heard it all, from Dr.Eggman.

It's the one of the best kart racing games ever. Stunning graphics , fancy abilities , challenging gamplay , very balance characters.
Although it is not as good as the pervious one , it is quite enjoyable that I never get tired playing this. If you prefer online multiplayer , go get Transformed ; If you dont care, get SASR

I gave this game an unfair shake when I first played it as I thought it controlled weird and I didn't care for a fair amount of the characters and the ones I do care about didn't make the cut (Ristar, Streets of Rage characters, Alien Storm characters etc) but I went back again recently and I apologise for dismissing it so quickly.

This game is really damn good, better than some Mario Karts I would say. It has more than enough to hold you over regarding single player content. There's your typical grand prix cups and single races but you also have an "adventure" mode where you do different challenges to unlock different things. Some people might not like this and would prefer everything unlocked from the start but this does give you more incentive to play. There's also local multiplayer (which I haven't tried) and online which runs very well. This game is about 3 years old and people are still playing. I'm managing to get into full lobbies.

In regards to the port job, this is a port of the 360 version as always but with graphics options and it also runs really well. Some would say this is the best way to play it (much like Gens PC)

The only complaints I have are this game did not want to recognise my XB1 controller until I reinstalled the game (you can also use a program called x360ce but it's incredibly fiddly) which is weird as it worked the first time with the controller and again, I personally can't care for many of the characters (The only ones I like are Sonic characters, JSR characters and BD Joe from Crazy Taxi) but that's entirely subjective.

If you want a solid, fun kart racer and have no intention of buying a Nintendo console or dusting off a PS1 for CTR, this is easily a great alternative and in some cases, a better one.

I pretty sure we all bought this game cause we love Sonic the Hedgehog, or fans of Sega or maybe we're all complete Mariokart fans. But that is not important what is important is that I might be a addict that needs professional help asap, if I continue playing this game, so I might consider taking a break from this game for a week. Lets just hope that I don't break that promise cause if I do I guess I am really a addict.

Match Making

Match making is basically a bunch of tryhards all spamming their way to victory, yush I know getting first place is rather a bitter sweet moment. But again it for rating points which I honestly don't give a rat ♥♥♥ about. But match making has it moments if you're like me that sometimes I will try to purposely stay in the middle of the pack, since that is where all the action is xD. Besides I only ever play match making unless either Nurse, Chrono or Tom are in the lobby then yeah I will jump in the lobby faster then the speed of light. But if anyone of them aren't in the lobby, then I don't bother I just play Grand Prix instead.

Grand Prix and Artificial intelligence

Speaking of Grand Prix. Grand Prix is basically a mini tourney when you come to think of it, with the points system and what not. The bots or the proper term "artificial intelligence". Yeah yeah bots like to rubberband but honestly who cares I think it funny and flattering if you ask me. Or just picture it like this like I do, you have 9 highschool sweethearts that all sercetly has a crush on you, but they are all to shy to ask you out so instead they write love notes. But again they are to shy to actually give it to you, so what they did is that they made their love notes into paper airplanes and when you are not looking, a paper airplane will lighty hit you, so what I saying is. Bots rubberbanding is equal to that of love notes :). But if you're still complaining then go play matchmaking it literally the same thing.

Being the artificial intelligence geek I am. The only complaint I have with these bots is when it comes to flying maps, they don't airdrift or riskboost they fly like they are going on a stroll. In other words they don't give a sh*t xD.

10/10

But seriously I am taking a break from this game for a week, I shall be back to playing SASRT on August 8 :)

This game is very similar to Crash Team Racing and Muppet RaceMania from PlayStation (I only played those two). Concept is same - you race with other characters, using powerups to help you on the way. There's no pure racing, you have to learn to drift properly and do stunts while in air to earn short speed boosts and also trying to sabotage other players, which is not always easy to do but can help greatly in determining the winner. There're plenty of tracks and several racing mods so it's hard to get boring.

Although you can finish this game in any difficulty you want, playing on highest difficulty is a real treat. There's pure adrenaline rush, trying to finish first without making errors (especially in "beat the ghost" mod). Multiplayer is still active (as of this date), you won't have problems finding others to play with. Some achievements are really hard to get so this is not easy 100%.

Overall, great racing experience, great game, you won't be disappointed.

Well you cant have Mario Kart on PC (offically anyway), so this is the next best thing.

Smooth framerates , lots of characters to choose from.

Maps are all over the place, so pleny of vareity.

I think this is preoblalby the best kart racing game for the PC.

Sega did a great job!

It's better than Mario Kart, there I said it. Can't wait until SEGA makes another one of these.

I really need to get a gamepad for this. But otherwise it's a solid racing game. Segas take on Mario Kart, Although it's very similar, most maps have your vehicle transform into a boat or a plane in certain areas. Can be fun to play against friends as well. So if you like Sega and Mario Kart style racing games, then you'll probably enjoy this.

Final Verdict (3.5 out of 5)
