I've played Combat Arms for years now, my gameplay hours don't show it but I played Combat Arms through Nexon's game download. The game is basically a FPS that almost requires "NX" to win, which is the cash currency in game. The game in the past was polluted with hackers, but I have to admit, the game hack gaurd has improved! BUT that doesn't change the fact that hackers will ALWAYS find a way in to this game. I have spent money on Combat Arms during sales, but the price of cash items are EXPENSIVE, even during sales. If you're good enough to prove yourself to the community you don't need cash to win, go ahead and play! It should be a fairly fun game, until you're all tired from the try hards haha. I've had my time cut out for me in Combat arms, but I would suggest playing another game if you can :) I have a veteran's perspective of the game by the way, so you can gladly disagree with me. (I've been playing since June 15th 2010, but I've taking over a year long break to rejoin and find the new stuff in the game, I revisit Combat Arms from time to time and check on their progression as a game, meh)

The Pros:
-VERY BIG COLLECTION OF GUNS
- Fast paced first person shooter with minimal action delay (Counter strike speed movement)
- Wide variety of game modes
- Plenty of Maps

The Cons:
- Plenty of hackers
- Pay to win
- If there are no hackers, A WHOLE LOT OF RAGE KICKING ELITE MODERATORS
- The community is not friendly (It's an FPS game yeah, but seriuosly the hate is real)
- Nexon has a poor costumer service system
- A lot of guns classified as "OP" (Obtained through cash)

Yeah... so... if you want to play, you can play I guess, but you'll find out all this is true~

I have been playing this game since early 2009; long before it was released on Steam. I cannot count how many hours I have put into this F2P game.

If your goal is to play this game for free, you will have a difficult time. This game is driven by a massive number of weapons. The majority of these weapons are currently only available by purchase, and are quite expensive for what they are. $30 usd for one permanent weapon!? There are seasonal sales, but are hardly worthwhile since the base price for each weapon is obsurdly high. Despite this, there are still plenty of free weapons, which can provide countless hours of enjoyment on their own.

The community is still fairly large, so it is easy to find a match. However, there is a good deal of limitations caused by the elite moderator system. It is possible for the player who created the match to kick you for no reason, and without any backlash. A recent hacker problem that has been mostly fixed has left the community extremely sour. Being kicked from a match is a common experience at any rank, and many weapons are restricted from use in almost every match. If you join a good clan, this problem is greatly mitigated.

*Pay-to-Win

*Hacker infested -- If you spend a lot of money on NX you will not get banned for using hacks in this game. You might get your stats rolled back, but even the top players can hack and get banned multiple times and still keep their accounts. It's sad.

*Badly optimized -- why do I get fps lag after some time playing this game? It's certainly not my OS, or my hardware. It's universal.

*Terrible community -- full of immature children. Expect to get kicked for killing the elite moderator or questioning whether he or his clan hacks.. Or a clan composed completely of secret hackers, and own the room as elite moderators.
People playing simply to grind GP/XP, what happened to playing for fun and slowly advancing towards your rank, so that it actually means something? I understand, but it's sickening how now you can get a high rank in a few days with what took people months before all the xp boosters and crap game modes came out. Ranks used to be respectable, now Nexon has taken away what people used to treasure about advancing ranks in the name of greed. That's inexcusable.

*Buggy -- How many times have I died from walking down a ladder and all of a sudden killing myself
somehow, what are the laws of physics in this game that dictate walking down stairs might kill you. Is it haunted? Did somebody murder a woman and her unborn child on those stairs? What's the story, Nexon?

*Unbalanced in almost every way possible -- Dual SMG's > everything on most maps. NX weapons give advantage in many cases. I know Gaben wouldn't let that ♥♥♥♥ roll, that's for sure.

I have played this game from 2009 ~ 2010, a bit in 2011 and 2012 as well. Right around the time when they released specialists (2009) is when things started to get bad. The game is engineered around NX now, no way around it. You can't play things like quarantine mode anymore unless you pay money for mutagens.

There is speed boosting armor in the game that adds up to +25% if you pay money for NX. As you can imagine, this is frustrating. Good luck trying to kill a skinny female character bunny hopping around with an SMG with what is basically a speedhack.. Jesus, this game is terrible.

If you want to test your frustration, this is the right game for you.
