“There's the accessibility, and the way it's just as satisfying to play on a cheap pad as it is on an expensive wheel set-up; how the handling is translated sublimely through both. And what handling it is, spread out across a delicious range of thoroughbred racing cars: there are the DTM cars, with their downforce and low-slung lines, that only seem one step removed from the hi-tech of F1, or their WTCC cousins that bounce over kerbs with the kiddish enthusiasm of a go-kart.”
EUROGAMER

“The sounds, the looks, the feel, it all comes together to form something that is simply a high quality product. Whether you play only the free content, or you buy it all, there is no question that this sim is worth the download.”

Recent updates are very good with single player and multiplayer added. The graphics and driving are excellent. Try the free version, you can have a pretty good go with that, then maybe buy a favorite track ( Bathurst!) and a couple of cars and take it from there. The new GT Masters set is very good....WTCC is coming in a week!!
Still has bugs , but is getting really good. I'd recommend it to any driving sim fan.

DEFINITELY A NEW GAME UNDER MANY ASPECTS
After the big patch FFB is now solid, Multiplayer Alpha is lagless with 20+ cars on track, netcode is stunning (no cars take off to the moon if they've been hit by another car), the AI is "ok" (but still needs improvements), tracks updated with the Road Feel are now so much better to drive onto (because of the way new FFB and updated tracks interact), and the sound... well... WHAT A SOUND!!! TOTAL IMMERSION
There are so many good things under the hood about this game that I seriously hope it'll become more appealing and known to all the simracers out there. Despite the unclear, sometime shady and mind-boggling business model S3 has adopted, this game deserve and deserve a lot! Don't be intimidated by the cost of contents in the store. You don't have to buy EVERYTHING (even if the temptation is high!).
Set for yourself a budget, buy what you're really interested into and possibly wait for big discounts... they'll surely come.
Race on!

Very good racing sim. Playing with a logitech driving force gt and i get a very good force feedback from the car, you can really feal the track and the traction of the car. The physics are really good and the sound is just amazing. You get 3 cars and 1 or 2 tracks in various configurations for free, but the rest of the cars and tracks arent all that costly, even more when you compare it to iracing. I just got the WTCC 2013 pack, with 5 cars and 3 tracks for little more then 10euros and there are a lot of content in discount. A great bonus over other racing games where you need to buy cars is that in Raceroom you can try all the cars before you buy them, they let you get a few laps around a track to see if you like it. If you really like racing games you should try this game out, you will not regret it, besides its free to play, so just try it.

Great but unfinished game that gets better with every update. I was looking for an alternative to GTR2 and RRE is slowly but surely turning into that (same devs after all). No "rewinds", no bumping into other cars without severe consequences (spin), no drifting through corners at 250 kph... Perfect! Love it!
IT IS NO "Need for speed" or "Grid2" ("Grid Autosport" was an arcady desaster as well imho). IT IS NOT A GAMEPAD-CASUAL-RACER.
The DTM Experience is great if you are a fan of the DTM Series but as mentioned above feels a little unfinished (no weather change, car setups can't be saved,...).
With the last patch there is a multiplayer (Alpha) in both DTM and RRE and tons of other improvements.
I can't understand these negative reviews because the best about the game: It's free to try out. I can download and play parts of it without paying anything. And if you love it as much as I do you can buy the stuff you like and want...
This game will be the next GTR2 once it's finished.
I am really looking forward to each update... Pit stops are announced for the near future!

This game was updated recently and now you can race against AI or in multiplayer races. Also, the new force feedback feels very good. I really like the new ADAC GT as well. There is still room for improvement, but I think it's worth a few bucks to check out the new content!

Great game, great feel, great tracks, AI gets harder the better you drive, only set backs are the cost of the game goes from free to over $200 Aus, although if they sell a package and you own part of what is in the pakage they discount it, the other problems are its unable to have any mods, and connecting to game server can take a life time or time out completely, get over these small down falls and the game is awesome to play, and most mates who see the unlocked version of the game, go home and install it.

Having initially dismissed Raceroom and in fact, being mostly unimpressed, I recently re-installed to give it another crack. Still being in Beta, I figured it was fair to.

I am rather surprised to say that it is genuinely superb and I always come away from Raceroom satified and my racing thirst quenched.

Genre-defining sounds (Really, they are the best sounds on any sim, anywhere), Genre-defining AI (again, really. Blows Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2 AI out of the water), Pleasant visuals, Intuitive handling, cracking FFB. Can't fault any of that.

I see some complain about the pricing of the addons. It's pretty reasonable, especially when compared to the liked of iRacing. Yesterday evening I purchased the DTM 1992 pack of cars and the European track pack. That's 5 very high quality, different vehicles with different strengths and 14 european circuits. I paid under £15 for this (admittedly with some discounts from prior purchases). This little lot would set you back right around the £100 mark, if not more on iRacing. Just throwing that out there.

Added to that you can try any car for free before you buy......

Highly recommend, great game and sim!

Purchased the game after just a few laps into the Free-to-play as I was hooked. The SOUND in this game is inspiring and almost as destructuve as being near a true performance vehicle. I play on an SLI EVGA 780 system and get wonderful SLI performance of 95% per GPU usage and the FPS never dips below an enjoyable level on surround (3 monitors).
The tracks are layed out similar to other racing games but in comparason to GT5 or GT6, Grid Autosport and the like you get a feel of taking a corner and fluffing the apex, braking too late or just destroying your engine with a lap in 1st gear if you enjoy playing realistic. Did I mention the SOUND! Graphical quality is top notice so learn the keyboard setting to adjust your seat height, distance from the wheel etc to suit your driving style. The AI is hard when you start and since I am still only 10 p[us hours into practicing, they just zoom passed me like I am stuck with the handbrake on. Did I mention the SOUND! If you can use a stereo sound system with a subwoofer you will be in Race Room heaven. Keep up the great work on devloping this game further and keep the large playing base glued to this game. BEST game I had never heard about.

Even in this state, this has become my favorite racing game.
And it keeps getting better and better!

All the tracks so far are really nice.
I actually enjoy tracks I've got in bundles that I didn't even think was for me at all!
Tracks I'm usually not that fond of!

Same goes for the cars.
I have ended up purchasing every last one of them, and I have no regrets!
They are all a blast to drive, and the sound in this game is amazing!!

Everything is relative, but I have bought all content on sales or with discounts.
So I'm not complaining on the pricing point.
I also do iRacing, and that's expensive!!
Further down the road, after some more updates with key features on this.
I think I will abandon iRacing!
I can't really justify the monthly fee on that, and racing to earn credits for the subscription already starting to feel like a chore, after only one month in!..

Now with both multiplayer and AI races in single player, the thing I really long for is the single player championship!

There is still work needed on this title.
The AI really needs work, even if they got a lot better with the last update.
But now after the reorganization fom Simbin to Sector3, the devs are being much more active.
And there is a lots of new features and content on the way!

This is an awesome game!
Why not try it out with the free content.
They will also implement that you can testdrive a car before purchasing it in the next update!
And there is also leaderboard competitions that are free to participate in!

Great free game. Lots of bad reviews by people that have played it for 20 minutes. This is a simulator and takes time to get the hang of. A lot of people are reviewing it as an arcade racing game. It isn't! It's a good place to start if you're used to racing games as it's free and there's nothing to lose if you dont like it.

If you jump into the game just play a race and quit it u'll hate it. This game free version is limited to few tracks, few cars and has really difficult gameplay since It's really realistic.
Pros: Car sounds are just absolutely amazing, physix are so real, the game is really hard if you remove all helpers but once you get used to the driving you'll love it.
Graphics are really good for a free game and you don't have to max them out to see good result.
There is the challenges, you get to try cars on a selected track and you can win prizes if you set a good time which is really competitive.
The game is not made for controller or keyboard, it is pure for a wheel if you want to get 100% accuracy while driving
Didn't try the dtm experience yet but looking forward to.
One amazing thing, is that the game is constanty updating and there is now the multiplayer which is alpha but looking good.

Now with Multiplayer!
This game has one of the best netcodes I have ever seen in a racing game. Racing online feels almost like racing offline against real people, no lag, no warping and no strange collision clipping... with 24 drivers. Of course this is only true if everybody has a decent internet connection. Even the best netcodes can't fix slow/broken internet :p

Even with only the free content it's a lot of fun but the game encourages you to buy more. The price of the content is okay, not too expensive but not cheap too. Tracks and cars are on sale from time to time and now with the addition of content packs you could get some bargains. I for one don't need any car and track because I have my facourites which I want to drive. Buying them costs less than other sims. Especially with rFactor 2 and iRacing which both need subscriptions to play them online.

With the 3 physics levels (Novice, Amateuer, Get Real) there is one level for everyone from total beginner to simpro.

Cheap content price for what you get.
Yes a few issues and bugs, but still coming along quite nicely.

Graphics are decent, sound is great.

Not free to play. Demo at best. Start with a few cars and a couple of tracks. No way to earn/unlock cars, tracks or liveries in game. Every thing must be bought with real money which would bring the price well over $100. This type of payment models are the worst. And the sole reason I don't recommend this game.
