Just Updated

The new level pack for “Adventures of Shuggy”, “Shuggy’s Teleporting Troubles” is now available on Steam. This new set of 40 single player levels provides a fresh challenge by throwing double teleporters into the mix as well as combining the teleporter with other mechanics from the main game such as level rotation, zombie Shuggy, floaty jump, rope swinging and multi-Shuggy. The level pack is included as part of the main game so it’s free for everyone who already owns it.

About This Game

Shuggy has just inherited a castle full of goblins, ghouls, zombies, and robots. Help him clear out over 100 rooms to make his new home liveable again! Every room in the castle is different, letting Shuggy fly, float, swing, spin, change size, time travel and more as he explores the Dungeon, Boiler Room, Clocktower, Gallery, and Graveyard.

Key Features

  • Co-op play - Play 36 twisted two-player levels in the offline co-op mode, with puzzles that can only be completed through cunning and teamwork.
  • Non-linear map screen - Multiple routes through the castle ensure you'll be able to find another route if you get stuck.
  • Boss encounters - Use your wit and cunning to defeat the dastardly bosses in each area of the castle.
  • Time travel - Get caught in a time loop and co-operate with your past echoes.
  • Rotation - Spin whole levels or interlocking puzzle sections to grab all the gems.
  • Seeing double - Utilize multiple Shuggys under the influence of different gravities.
  • Teleportation - Use Shuggy's teleporter to solve some tricky conundrums.

I'm a sucker for cute games, especially cute platformers (thanks Kirby) and this is one of the better ones I've come across. Adorable little bat...thing Shuggy inherited a mansion from his uncle, but it's all haunted and stuff. To get the place in order he has to collect gems (it is ALWAYS gems) through more than 100 puzzle rooms and beat up some equally adorable bosses along the way. It's standard fare for a puzzle platformer, but what makes Shuggy shine is the variety in the puzzles. The devs took every gimmick they could think of short of an actual portal gun and mixed them up to round out the rooms. There are rooms with low gravity, reversed gravity, rotating gravity, rooms where you can fly, clones you can switch between, time travel, a personal teleporter, and my favorite, the magic rope. The rope trails out from a box in the room and you can use it to tangle up machinery, swing around like a monkey, and other neat tricks.

In addition to the 100+ puzzles in the base game, there's also a fully separate co-op campaign and an additional level set that gives you an extra teleporter on top of the other gimmicks. All this comes in a charming package with sharp, colorful graphics and some sweet jazz accompaniment. It hooked me hard enough to finish all the levels in the base game and try my hand at the achievements, some of which are surprisingly challenging. For the money, it's well worth your time if you love adorable platformers at least half as much as I do.

Suprisingly fun game.
I went in with pretty low expectations and came out actually enjoying the game.
A really interesting platformer game despite what it may look like at first glance. Each level has an interesting mechanic, be it rotating the world to get to the next platform or to make a gem fall to you, avoiding obstacles.
Not as easy as you may think.
