This game is pretty easy to understand without watching the movies or reading the books.

Okey, first of all there is a major issue with this game with the way it works and the fix is here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1344121

Now, the game itself is a lot of fun! I've not played too far into it, but it reminds me of Lego Batman 2. It has many of the same features such as Golden Bricks, Students in Peril (with batman it was citizens, which fits better as they really were in peril) and being a large open world where you ttravel mission to mission or spend most of your time unlocking new secrets.

Instead of parts, you gain parts of the Hogwarts' crest to gain extra peices and you can unlock new students which may have interesting powers that will help you to unlock all the extras. This one doesn't have talking which makes me think it was made before Batman 2. Also, stud collecting in missions is a lot harder. I havn't completed a single mission yet where I filled up the stud meter.

A very addictive game and I highly recommend it if you're a fan of the other Lego games.

Crashed after 5 minutes... Can't set video details to high (says it need a restart but when I restart the option is back to low).

Very childish game and after a while gets irritating. The story is very short and you won't get the hogwarts feeling or harry potter feeling.

This is one of the best entries in the lego series of games. Every room has TONS of things to interact with. The animations are done well for all the characters, or as the cool kids call them, minifigs. Attention to the smallest details is seen right from starting the game, from differences in how Harry and Hermione Granger walk, to how Ron freaks out when using his wand.

You can play as everyone from the movies, from Malfoy, to Ginny, and even the professors. All of Hogwarts is recreated from the big room they all sit in, to the dorms where they live. Lots of fun abilities, like turning back time, make the same world seem new again. There is ALOT of content in this Lego game, very impressive the level of detail. Not being a Harry Potter fan I had a great time playing the game, and oddly like the game better than the movies.

This is one of the most detailed lego games i've ever played every little thing is almost entirely accurate too the movies and the books. The game is fairly lengthy also around 14hrs but with tons of other stuff to do such as exploring and collecting the characters. I'm gonna be honest the port is not great i had very few issues whilst other people cant even get the game too start or levels becoming impossible to complete due to the bugs which is a real shame if you can get the game too work and you dont run into tons of issues its a great game i recommend it to any harry potter or lego fan. Only buy if you have a controller the keyboard controls are very awkward.

Brilliant game, shame about the fact that the game crashes every 20 minutes or so for me.

What can I say!?
This game is just AWESOME, just like every Lego game I've played. (HP 5-7 and Marvel)
The gameplay is pure fun! With tons and tons of secrets, abilities, unlockables etc.
Truly what games should be like. A complete game with nothing left out.

EVERY developer should opt for this!
Gameplay over graphic. Content over money-grabbing!
Really reminds me of the old-school games with tons of stuff to unlock. (PS1 and 2 era)

Really addictive gameplay! :D

Local co-op makes this simply a must-buy!!!

As a huge Harry Potter (and lego) fan I was delighted to find this game. I've spent hours and hours finding every last golden brick and character. Sadly steam won't show my real playtime, since most of it was offline, but I'm guessing I've spent around 40 hours on this game. I've had my share of problems and bugs, playing with an xbox control was a pain in the butt sometimes as the connection would just drop out, and the game would glitch really badly if I used spells too fast. Despite this I really recommend this game to anyone; Potterfan or not, because this kind of game where no one speaks a single word is fantastic. And Voldy is hysterical. (too bad Ron is useless. Hope he'll catch up in 5-7)

Well then. So I thought I'd buy Harry Potter to kill some time after work. So far what I've experienced is that it crashes randomly from time to time with no reason. Just saying not responding. I can play for a good hour, no problem but sometimes when you're already into it so long and have not reached a save point it really does my head in if it just crashes. The game in general is fun, the mocking is genius. The crashing really makes me not want to play it anymore. Some maps are hard and kinda sucks it's not easy to get a hint out of them, just an FYI.

I love Harry Potter, but the only reason I don`t recommend it is that you can`t get past a level in prisoner of Azkaban, because it freezes and plays random sounds that aren`t even featured in lego games! And as for Years 5-7 (which I can`t play) you can`t play it because when you click play it goes black and plays the exact same sounds that are in years 1-4! WTF IS HAPPENING!

The best lego game of them all! A tad glitchy at times, but otherwise a solid port. Great fun.

So far I hate this game. The default controls are terrible, but can be changed. The glitches are game-breaking, but seem rare. The story's good. But overall I don't feel like playing it is fun. I bought 3 lego games because of a sale, I hope the others are better, but for now I'm not even going to try. 4/10.

This game has its moments, and for any Harry Potter fan can be a good time. However the port to PC was not done well at all and I came accross 2 separated ♥♥♥♥ches that either consistantly crashed the game, or created an impossible point to pass. After reviewing fourums online I was able to work arround both cases with some difficulty, but these issues have been reported for over 4 years so the developers clearly have no intention on patching the game. I wish I would have known the frustrations assositated with the PC version prior to purchase, as the glitch annoyances are not worth working around for a good (not amazing) game.

This is the most accurate Harry Potter game ever made. It has even secondary characters from the book that even if you're a big fan you might not remember their names, but they are there, and all of them are playable! The game has lots of places to visit and explore and even when you finish it, there's a lot of secrets to unlock. The gameplay is very easy, relaxing and addicting. The soundtrack is the same from the movies which makes the scenarios even more immersive because you instantly remember about the movie scenes when you listen to them. It's a "must have" for every Harry Potter fan.
