Since Horse Lords, this pack no longer seems to work. Every Greek, Armenian, Georgian, and Jew are using the default Western Germanic portraits, and honestly, it is extremely stupid. This pack helps make the game have more flavour, and having that flavour suddenly not appear despite paying for it is not exactly fun. I don't exactly like looking at Greeks who don't look like any Greek I know. Same goes for the Italians, who no longer are supported either. FIX NOW.

Brilliant dlc. It's astonishing how similar the portraits are to Mediterranean people I know. It's a shame they replaced the old ones with the ugly generic ones we have now. Hopefully PI will change it back.

Be warned this DLC lies, for it does not give the mentioned portraits ( the heavily charicatures of Iberians almost borderline offensive ) it instead gives only gives greek and armenian portraits that are simply too wrong in too many areas to the point that you can't recognise the fact that they should resemble greeks.

These new Greek portraits have skin way too dark, resembling turks way more than medieval greeks, and their facial characteristcs are mostly wrong, having beady eyes, crazy beards and weird noses. ( Also important to note that this mistakes and errors are a characteristic of the artist that also made the new iberian portraits which are possibly the most offensive and racist portraits to date that of course the artist heavily defends )

Overall they changed paid content without warning and without changing the steam page reduced the ammount of areas this dlc covered and removed the portraits shown in this page in what might be the most abhorrent move that Paradox has made to date.

This pack represents some form of vengeful god type of game developement, a passive aggressive move to offend the CKII forum community because several people compalined about the skins looking "racist" (Spanish people were dark skinned, Italian people were a bit too, and Greeks looked like Romans).

Now the pack has changed, scrapping all the content we paid for and replacing it with lower qaulity, stylistically inferior (in my opinion) Greek skins that are simply a reimagining of the game's default European skins. The Spanish and Italians have been removed, split into the Iberian portrait pack and had their stylistic design toned down.

The old skins were superior, and taking content out of a paid DLC and splitting it into a new paid DLC seems dishonest. They didn't even change the store page to reflect this 'content nerf'. I'm usually a huge paradox supporter, but Crusader Kings team was out of line here.

Once upon a time the Mediterranean portraits were fine. To some they looked like potatoes. To me they were perfect. After some patch something happened to their eyes. They became weired and alien. Nothing that could not be fixed. One day, after another patch something had happened. The beloved potato men of the Mediterranean were no more. The once proud peoples of Italy and Iberia suddenly found themselves looking like the whitest of the white men of Central Europe. The men of the east - the Greeks, Armenians, Georgians and the Jews - were robbed of their attractive countenances and found themselves looking like something ripped from a certain American cartoon where the populace has four fingers and are plagued with chronic jaundice. Ugly, ugly, ugly like the other new portraits.

Where I come from we have a saying - if it ain't broke don't fix it. Sure Paradox managed to break the portraits near the end, but that fix was like fixing a loose nail in the floorboards with a sledge hammer.

A recent patch replaced the rather inaccurate Mediterranean Portraits with more accurate Byzantine portraits. You can ignore a lot of old reviews now, the current portraits this DLC provides are excellent and accurate.

Paradox has to update this DLC page in order not to misinform.
- The portraits look immensly better now. No longer the potato people of the Mediterran.
- This portrait pack does now only change EASTERN mediterran ethnicites or byzantine. Those are: Greek, Armenian Georgian and the Israelite/Jewish Cultures Ashkenazi and Sephardi.
- For western mediterran you need the Iberian portrait pack, which includes Castillian, Catalan, Portuguese, Andalusian, Visigothic and Italian.

Disparagingly referred to as 'Potato people' or 'Mud people' DLC. Clearly the quality is leagues worse than the vast majority of other content for CKII; that quality sticks out like a sore suntan, it's that diabolical. DLC turned off at the launcher is your best bet for this one. Shame, the others on offer are quite to very good.

Actually, it looks like they've given them an overhaul without telling anyone! Whooo! Probably worth getting, on par with the Persian/Turkish/Iberian portraits now - dat consistency.
