About This Game

Sanctum 2 is the sequel to the world’s first Tower Defense/FPS hybrid game. Pick from four unique character classes and embark on a mission to protect the oxygen-producing Cores from hordes of deadly aliens who are threatened by their existence. Outfit your character exactly the way you want through the new and extensive customization system. Choose your own loadout of towers, weapons and perks, but choose wisely because you are humanity’s last defense against the unrelenting hordes set out to destroy it.

Sanctum 2 is a new game completely rebuilt from the ground up using community feedback and innovative design to really push the bar of what an independent studio can do.

Intense Action – Deep Strategy

In Sanctum 2, you will utilize elements from multiple gameplay genres to succeed. Construct towers and walls during the building phase before the enemies attack, then jump into the fray and blast everything to pieces in FPS mode. You can progress through the single-player campaign yourself, or play with up to four friends in co-op to discover the secrets of the planet LOEK III and learn the backstory on why the aliens are so intent on destroying the Cores you are sworn to protect.

Key Features

Building on the success of the original game, Sanctum 2 stands alone as the only true FPS/Tower Defense hybrid. No other title delivers gameplay that seamlessly combines both genres.

  • Tower Defense – Design complex mazes and build powerful towers to stop the enemies from destroying the Cores.
  • First-Person Shooter – Don’t just sit back and watch, jump into the action yourself!
  • Four playable character classes – Each with their own unique strengths, weaknesses and weapons.
  • Vast Customization System – Pick perks or make the game crazy hard by adding Feats of Strength.
  • In-game Visual Novel – Unlock a comic-book page for every map you beat to discover the secrets of LOEK III.
  • Progression System – Increase your rank and unlock new weapons, towers and perks.
  • 4-Player Co-op – Progress through the storyline yourself or team up with other players whenever you want.

Sanctum, where a First Person Shooter meets Tower Defense. This game pulls it off almost flawlessly.

Sanctum 2 is one of those games that you and your friends need to get, Co-op makes this significantly better and as the level progress they get more challenging since you need to use the resources avalible count while utilizing yourself as a moving weapon.

I don't have much else to say other than it's a fantastic game priced at $14.99 USD and it's well worth the buy!

Towers suck, gatta grind heavily to unlock towers/weapons/perks. Fine multiplayer game, terrible single player game.

I'd recommend this game for a fan of tower defense games. I haven't palyed quite as much as I should to give an educated review but I've had good times playing this game, wasting some sweet time I could've used productively while playing this with my brother.

8-9/10, it's a real nice game but not my favorite. Buy it, nonetheless.

Amazingly deep and smart game. Seems eazy at first glance, but feels really complex and vast at rank 50. The variety of character unique features, perks, weapons and towers allows you to comunicate, plan and make decisions with other players from the moment you've selected a map. But that's only the complexity of gameplay. Sanctum 2 gives you a story and a world with it's own legend. The story is told in comic book style before every next map, and character personalities are filled with dialogs, your imagination and their in-game voices and phrases. What really surprised me in this game was how vast most of the maps turned out to be. It's not just the play zone, the battlefield, you can explore the world beyond the marked field on minimap. And that's where you discover another side of the game, which rewards your awareness with not just additional supplies, but with extra plot, funny little minigames and simply glorious views. As much as Unreal Engine 3 can be beautiful, game makes sure to deliver. If you aren't in the mood to think through defences, give your resources to your friend and simply enjoy the view and explore the map with mild relaxing electronic music. This game is a marvelous example of what the smart co-op game can be.

Now to the downside. The great big problem of the DLC era. This is really bad way to make DLCs. It's good when they expand and extend the plot of the game, but not this time. DLCs are supposed to be optional, but for some reason the basic game ships with half of the plot (4 chapters) and leaves you with a big cliffhanger (but not as big as HL2EP2 had ;) ). So each one of the DLCs adds a new chapter to the game (5th-8th chapters), allows to unlock new towers and weapons. Yes, you've read right, you need to by DLC to get the full game. Except for Britech Skin Pack, this just adds alternative models for 4 basic characters (no extra skin for Tsygan). So in the end, these DLCs are not optional, you will definitely miss out on some fun things if you don't own them.

I only wish it was more single player friendly and that I could make a second character or delete my old one (in order to start over and play it again!). Otherwise, I love it and got a lot of replay value out of it.

Oh shoot! I gotta write a review to express my love for this game.

Guys... I FREAKIN' LOVE THIS GAME. YO. If you lookin for a tower Defense game.... Look no further! It is here! >;D BUY IT.

It's PVE... No Pvp at all. If you struggle in PVP like I do! This is the game for you! I use the assault rifle and SMG alot from the character Skye.

Highly recommend, getting that awesome Drone Launcher in the DLC "The Pursuit." it's worth it cause you get to see tiny drones attacking the Aliens + it's cause I'MA LAZY BUM. :3

Great for playing with friends, lots to do, much to earn. The comunity is pretty good too. It can be a little hard to get into if you're playing alone, but otherwise no problems. You will want to have good internet though, if not you have a real hard time aiming at the enemies unless you are hosting the game. This is the best grid based turret deffence/first person shooter I have played.

Heads up: there is one bug I know of that can be alarming if you get it, but is easily fixed. When you first open the game, if it fails to conect to you're Steam account on the first go, it won't let you passed the title screen. If this happens, restart you're computer, open Steam before you try to start the game, make sure you conect to your account and that your internet is working, then try again and it should work fine.

I got a lot of enjoyment out of sanctum 2, most of it was solo but the few times I was able to play with friends were the best. I was surprised(good surprise) at the ammount of customization you can have, the different characters, weapon choices, perk system, almost made it feel rpg like...almost, I supposed the closest comparison I can think of is bioshock, sanctum 2 obviously doesnt have the indepth story but you can make a good number of effective and interesting builds to play as. if you liked bioshock's combat and are interested in tower defense, give it a try.

I did enjoy the soundtrack but that will be highly subjective from person to person.
