If you are a big Game of Thrones fan, you should enjoy the experience, but if you are just a random player - this game will disappoint.

The best thing here is the story. It occurs in the same time frame as GoT season 1. You will experience 2 different stories of 2 different men. Playing through 14 chapters you will learn all the background stories abound them. The characters are well fleshed out. The main story is well injected into a GoT world and you will even meet some familiar faces from the GoT tv series. Although not all of them will have a voice-over of the actors.

The action is very much the same as old-school RPG games, where you will command your character to attack, or to use a skill and they will do them in the order you've selected. I think this type of gameplay was a good choice for this kind of game. It's very similar to Dragon Age: Origins.

The skills are fun and all, but at the end of the game you will learn 95% of them, so no replayability value in this department.

The currency in this game is quite scarce, so don't waste all the hard earned money for an item you will eventually out level. Choose wisely.

And now - graphics. It actually sucks. The animations are mediocre. There are so many graphical bugs in the scripted scenes that's it's just mind blowing. You will see some random people walking through the walls, windows, wooden doors, fireplaces. You can get stuck in the corners if all your followers surround you and bam - you can do nothing about it.

Some characters have such strange voice acting. It's so funny in a not funny way.

Oh and the camera controls are the worst. If you want to look around, you have to hold the right mouse button. Even 15 year old games don't have this.

----

So, if you like Game of Thrones, try to forgive this game all of its flaws and enjoy the story. You will need about ~25-30h to complete this game, especially if you like to do side-quests.

Pros: The game is beautifully designed, the cutscene atmosphere is very immersive, and the plot is intriguing. So, an overall great backdrop.

Cons: Combat needs a lot of rennovation and work, as it's pretty darn awful. Rather than Mors and Allester, Cyanide should have used more story-related characters, like Illyn Payne and Thoros of Myr, who fit the desriptions of the other characters right there (but that's just me nerding out.)

?: You can teabag Cersei's head (a much deserved "honor" after reading about her in the books and the series on HBO)

I was extremely skeptical about this game, being a huge GoTs fan I was periodically checking up on this game when it released and the reviews were pretty heartbreaking. Finishing up the most recent season of GoT I was desperately needing my fix, so I picked up this in hopes that it would sustain me, and my god am I happy I did. The game is not perfect but its really no where near as bad as the majority of critics made it out to be. The story takes place right before the books/show start and it follows two characters of little known houses within the Lannisters Westerlands. Don't expect to see alot of characters popular in the shows (more from the books) Varys, Cersei, Half Hand, and Jeor Mormont are pretty much the only big names you'll run into. (Whether this is canonical or not no idea, but it could easily be put into the accepted lore)
The gameplay is not perfect (reminds me of Kotor) but still enjoyable, you select a sequence of attacks and the said character will then play them out. The one thing that bummed me out is you only have two permanent party members (though they are played separately) and all the others are temporary drop-in characters. All-in-all if you like GoT and want to experiance a little bit more of Westeros, and dont mind a less than perfect (it really isnt that bad, I had a fun time) combat system then definitly check it out. Even if you don't know the series pick the game up, the game is filled with codex's that help explain alot of the elements you see within the game.

+Also if youre debating whether to get this or the Telltale game, get this hands down, the story and game as a whole is much more satisfying.

A good RPG. Interesting story that was well written. The two protagonists were deep and credible. I thought the combat system, inventory and skill development was average, but fun. It really shines in the role-playing and character development. This game draws you in and lets you play out the lives and choices of two characters in the game of thrones setting. The fighting/exploring/dialogue/atmosphere was something that I enjoyed. Highly recommended for G.O.T. fans, but an average game if you are not into that milieu.

The game itself sucks. Its not fun to play. Its very clunky, If you play the witcher then play this youll want to kill yourself.

The story is the only thing worth anything from this. So i advise you to just watch it on youtube.

Save youself some money dont play this. watch it.

I really wanted to like this game. But very limited player customization, uninspired combat and the horrible controls ruined it for me shortly after I started. I just pretend Skyrim is in the GoT universe.

Remarkable game with amazing story and great mechanics.
Combat system is based on actions queue, which some criticize, and I totally love.

This game is engaging, though it lacks a certain level of polish. It claims that every decision matters, though it's unclear to what level that actually is. Pretty much every choice can give you a new perk to boost your character's capability, but not in any particularly meaningful way. Predictability and inconsistent difficulty plague this game, while neither are a huge issue given the quality of the story it's still worth mentioning.

I haven't watched the show or read the books, so perhaps I'm missing something, but this game is good enough to pick up if it's cheap.

Game of Thrones
This is a good game that definitely makes up for the plot and the main characters. This title is based on the fantasy of George R. R. Martin "A Song of Ice and Fire". The story is presented from the perspective of two characters. The first of them is a member of the Night's Watch, Mors Westford. In contrast, the second character is Alester Sarwyck that after 15 years of exile as a priest R'hllora return to Westeros for the funeral of his father. Heroes have a rich biography and discovering their history constitutes the most part of the game. The game takes place on land of Westeros where we visit places such as Riverspring, Kings Landing, Riverrun, Mole's Town and Castle Black. At the beginning of the game we choose the class of our characters and for each character a set of three profession. The game is divided into chapters and while playing we will gain experience by killing enemies and completing missions so that we could be able to improve our statistics. In addition, during the game we will make choices that it will add additional statistics. The fight will not be relied on pressing the buttons to defeat our enemy. Instead, the fight will be based on tactics and the appropriate action preforming attack or defense action, so that your character is not killed in combat. Also, we will have access to the companions who will accompany us during the fight. This is definitely a good game that has a great story. Sound system is very good too. The biggest problem with this production is that various things have been converted like type of armor, places in Kings Landing and Castle Black does not resemble anything and nothing from the show. While ending this review I would like to say that the game is worth the price and I had a lot of fun after finished this game.

At first I must say, that I played this game mostly on my second account.
I bought this game when it was on sale (or by humble bundle, I don't remember now, forigive me).

Now just talk about the "+" and "-" of this game.
+ Not the best, but still good plot.
+ You can finally visit King's Landing (sorry if I spell it wrong, my English isn't so good).
+ Two characters with different personalities, goals and skills.
+ Five different endings. I had fun when I tried to unlock them all, but it wasn't too difficult.
+ Secrets. It was funnier to find things with R'hllor's power, but hound's part was amazing too.
+ "Gret dog assassin". I don't like dogs, but Mors' hound was nice!
- It's too ♥♥♥♥ing expensive. If I had to pay this for almost 20 euros, I would not do that.
- Music. Was it too difficult to find some tracks? After some hours I had enough.
-Alester's endings. Really? I played to defend Riverspring, not to hang myself or get killed by Ceresei's guards' hand. Omg.
- Jeyne's story. I think it was possible to save her and her child.
- Fights. It was just like simple spamming and waiting for energy.
- Too few characters from the show. Cersei, Mormont and Varys? Where are the Starks? Or Dany? Disappointing.

I'm a little bit mixed about this game. I could recommend it just when it's on sale.

I bought this game during a summer Steam sale. Played it for an hour and hated it. The combat was clunky, the controls unseemly. Then I started reading the reviews here that said it was a good game. So I gave it another chance. Wow, was I wrong. Once you figure out the battle tactics (switching between your party, choosing attacks three steps in advance, etc.) you discover this is a pretty good game. Especially if you are a GoT fan. All of a sudden I was jumping between my character at the Wall and the one in the Red Keep with eager anticipation. A great story, with great dialogue, and great characters (including Varys, Cercei, and others.) Yes the combat is still a little clunky (heaven forbid I face 5 degrees to the left on my intended target!) but overall this is a wonderful experience. If you are a fan of the novels and/or TV show I strongly recommend this story-driven, dialogue-rich, RPG. It's like a whole new episode of GoT that takes place right before Season 1, Episode 1.

Had this on Xbox 360 and decided to buy it on pc while its on sale.

Good enough game for game of thrones fans, once you get used to the camera and the combat you'll be having fun and enjoying the story.

The DLC however, i'd like to know who selected the voice actors for the wildlings because they all sound southern, its taking the authentic ice and fire feel away from the game for me, but this is my only gripe.

Good game, gameplay is a bit lacking at times and (like many Cyanide games) it gives a clear feeling of an unpolished game though (like many Cyanide games) it makes up for it in little, bold ideas and cool story.

This is one of the games where you play mechanically for a while then go all "wow can I really do that ? Great"

Clunky, ugly, and visible budget constraints; yet despite all that it nails the spirit of the books and still manages to deliver a story worth on its own merits.
