This game was a lot longer than I expected. There always seemed to be a new room and the artwork was great. I found the mystery challenging but fun. I liked this game overall

Another in the series of lunch or break time point and click mysteries on rails. This one had more complex puzzles than the past three, but even the hardest were doable in a couple minutes. The scavenger hunt scenes were good as always. MM4 seemed to have a nagging lag in object activation and in some animations -- it's not enough to be unplayable but it is noticeable for me. Lastly, the story was...ok. It seemed like a stretch at times, but it was good enough for a few bucks. 6/10

The Midnight Mysteries series contains some of my favorite hidden object games. These are the more typical hybrid type games, that have some adventure elements (puzzles, moving between locations, talking to people) as opposed to the find-objects-only style.

Midnight Mysteries are interesting in that they are based on real historical events, then add some fictional what-ifs to fill in blanks or give alternate explanations for known events. As a result, not only are the fun as a game but they spark some interest in reading about the real events on Wikipedia.

MM4 goes into the death of Harry Houdini and proposes a little mystery, that maybe the accident that sped up his death was actually intentional, and if so, who wanted to kill him.

A decent hidden object/adventure game. Some decent puzzles. Story is kinda ehh. But a decent way to waste some time if you can get it cheap.

Essentially a very easy graphic adventure mixed with a hidden object game. I suspect given Houdini's attitude towards mediums that being portrayed as a ghost along with his wife would probably not have sat well with him. On the other hand as a fun story with conspiracies it serves its purpose well enough. There is some nice usage of actual historical records/places and of course some very heavy artistic licence!

As far as hidden object games go, this one is excellent. The interface/gameplay is good, the art is good (if a tad amateurish in places), and, most remarkably, there is an engaging story that also teaches you a few interesting things about the subject matter (in this case Houdini, Conan Doyle, and their interaction with Spiritualism).

It's a casual game with limited replay value, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Finished my 4th Midnight Mystery and must say I enjoyed this one the best. Very similar to #3 in the amount of hidden picture puzzles, other "logic" puzzles and story. Graphics remain very similar as well. Ran a bit over 4 hours to get through the main story and the bonus chapter. I would guess there is likely another hour or two in the bonus content...possibly a little more if you go for all the achievements. The story was light, but overall fun. I think these mysteries also do a great job of letting you get "Unstuck" if needed with both the in game strategy guide and the numerous hints allowed.

Again, I would recommend if you like this type of game or are looking for something casual. If you did not like the other's in this series, I don't think this one would change your mind.

We find ourselves here again; this time with the fourth instalment of Midnight Mysteries entitled Haunted Houdini! You know what? I’ll be completely honest; I really have a soft spot for these games! They’re simple casual fun to play for a couple of hours on a rainy afternoon! If you enjoy Hidden Object games but are tired of being limited to energy or can’t access a particular level because you’re not high enough ranked… Well, leave them god awful Facebook games behind and just buy one of the Midnight Mysteries in the sales… It combines hidden object games, adventure elements and a great story that makes the genre much more interesting!

Certainly my favorite story of the four part series, but again it's the same game elements as 2 and 3--nothing new to be found.

If you enjoy hidden object games, the Midnight Mysteries series are the best you'll find on Steam. No, they're not as good as the Mystery Case Files series but they're damn good in their own right. Each game have interesting historically based stories with hidden object goodness, mini games and bonus levels. There are even Steam Achievements. I also recommend Sherlock Homes: Hound of the Baskervilles and Season of Mystery: The Cherry Blossom Murders if you're looking for HOG games with Achievements.
