Extremely incomplete but very likely the best thing so far done with the Star Wars IP.

Kreia is a very interesting character indeed.
Play it!

This is the somewhat disappointing lead-up to the amazing first Kotor. It bears all the strengths of the first game. However, everything is kind of diluted and unfinished. The writing is great, but the plot less engaging; the characters are nice, but the dialogue is annoyingly open-ended; there are more powers and items, but the game mechanics are extremely broken; the game is longer, but there are idiotic gaps and missing content.

You can talk through the same stuff over and over again with the NPCs. You can go light side weapon master and still spam force storm a hundred times in a fight. You can get in serious trouble by going to Nar Shaddaa as your first planet. Or by playing even one of the side characters in the wrong way. You can miss important bits of information if you don't choose the exactly right dialogue options. And so forth.

I would still say it's worth playing through at least two times. Despite all its flaws and being in the shadow of its predecessor, it's still a great Star Wars RPG. It's not like we have that many of those around.

Obsidian's sheer talent can be demonstrated simply by the fact that the Nar Shadaa segment of the game is more enjoyable than the entierety of the first Knights of the Old Republic.

The journey towards getting your first lightsaber is delightfully, frustratingly long. What a classic.

at hour 21 have encountered a game breaking glitch that has stopped me from progressing past a certain force field at a certain sky ramp... many other players have encountered this glitch and the only solution that will work is to load a save game from 2 hours ago...

I have asked for a refund 3 times from steam and been denied 3 times... i dont think what they are doing is ethical or legal.

Broken piece of ♥♥♥♥. Barely playable, if your save file chooses to load correctly, you're met with broken combat and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI. Minefield ahead? Ok guys *clicks the "stationary" command for party* stay here while I- oh, just run through the minefield like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Great.

This game for PC is total ♥♥♥♥. Your character freezes after combat and I can't even get past the starting part of the game because of ♥♥♥♥ programming. So ♥♥♥♥♥♥ I wasted my money on this.

Looked up fixes for the problem and nothing worked. Tried enabling VSync, tried resetting. DO NOT waste your money on this game.

Just don't do it.

Gonna stop buying old titles from steam as well. Their support always sucks. No more.

Being forced to change many of the games graphical options and other work-arounds just to have a *little* bit of stability is absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable

If you want this for the nostalgia hook your old Xbox up and play that instead, not this.

Knights of the Old Republic 2 was a childhood favorite of mine that I originally picked up on the X-Box. The PC version is just as good, and with the restored content mod (TSLRCM) it is even better, filling in a lot of holes and rounding out the story (as well as fixing some bugs). A great Star Wars game, and probably the best Star Wars RPG out there.

This is simply one of the best games ever made, a true classic. Wish they'd port KOTOR1 to SteamOS/Linux.

Highly recommeded. If you are going to get this game, download the restored mod to go with it. The added content makes the game much better in my opinion.

Amazing game. Pretty much Star Wars version of Mass Effect. Great story elements, fun combat, challenging puzzles, amazing customization and great characters.

This game fixed all the problems I didn't realize there were with the first one: inflexible story, clunky melee/ranged combat switches, slow as HELL environment suits, and a choked range of Force-sensitive characters. I love it. Also fun was the physical transformation of the Force on the protag.

most convoluted story since dark souls. the restoration mod helps with this, but it still requires a good bit of effort to decipher. besides that, it's more of that sweet, sweet KotOR roleplaying action.
