One of the gems of Railworks, London to Brighton is excellent. 50 miles of track and the Class 377 which is the easiest train to reskin in the game. During sales, get this. Seriously. Do it. Now. I will not continue if you don't buy it NOW. Okay, the route is full of features like the Clapham Junction area but I wish they had included more AI trains in the Clapham area other than the 450, it would seem more alive. Also it is included in a lot of the patches like South London to Brighton (Workshop, not Dovetail). The 377 is amazingly full of features, considering it was made at the beginning of this games life. Overall, a great route with great rolling stock and great scenery. Buy it. Pika

Good route. Interesting,

PROS
* Cool details, lots of realistic track
* A lot of scenarios, good value
* Good mix of urban and country scenery

CONS
* Engine with small view portals. A coffin with windows.
* Impossible schedules, will fail to load passengers if 1 second late
* Got tired of sound loop of rails clacking in same pattern

A good route, with some nice detailing. The trains are nicely modelled but, personally, I feel the interior winscreen of the class 377 is too narrow, too much of the grey walling on either side. This may be a perspective issue but as a driver of 377's in real life the windscreen's seem much wider.

Very clearly one of my favourite routes for Train Simulator. Both the route and 377 included are solid pieces of work. I recommend buying it as part of a pack including the FCC class 319.

It's a great addon! Admittedly it could benefit from a couple of things and East Croydon station on the down fast (Towards Brighton) is a bit buggy on when the doors open, but overall definetly a lot of fun, and if you get addons for it like the Armstrong Powerhouse sound pack and also the 442 'Wessex' Addon in the Steam DLC library, then this map can provide hours of fun!

Fantastic route, one of my most played routes.

Would be cool if they extend it through to Eastbourne or Ore (Hastings) maybe even to Ashford, have a complete route there.

Class 377's in my opinion is one of the best EMU's, I just wish the 387's were actually different, sure the seats may be uncomfortable, but driving wise fast braking and acceleration.

It's a must buy; not for £25 of course, during sales.

Pros:
Over 50 Miles
Easiest train to re-skin - Class 377
Has most scenarios on Workshop - Most popular
Perfect route for semi-fast, fast and slow routes.

Cons:
Track at West Croydon has no portal, plus the direction is incorrect after Switch track from Selhurst/Norwood Junction.
No pre-load for Class 450 - Easy fix
Out dated Gatwick Airport and Brighton

I absolutely love this route. I've had it so long that it has become one of my 5 favourite routes. The Class 377 is awesome [especially with the AP 375/377 sound pack] and I love driving the full Victoria to Brighton run. My only gripe with this route is the total lack of variety in Ai on the default scenarios.

My favourite station would be, well do I really have to say it. Clapham Junction.

Good route, perhaps getting a little old but still well detailed and fairly long. It has a nice run in to London Victoria for stopping services and the full mainline for expresses.

Class 377 is OK- nice cab view but the passenger view is pretty bad. Also, there is a glitch with the doors in the 2nd carrige appearing open when you're more than 100m or so away in free cam mode. This is annoying as it would be easy for DTG to fix, but of course they haven't.

I recommend buying it with the class 319 in the Commuter Europe Collection, for £5 extra it comes with the class 319- one of my favourite locos- and also Munich to Ausberg, the DB BR423 and the Southern 421- also with scenarios for London to Brighton

London to Brighton is a lovely route for Train Simulator, which comes with the Class 377 ‘Electrostar.’ It is lovely and detailed, with accurate station models! Overall, this is one of the routes I drive on the most. Unfortunately, the class 377 isn’t really that functional and the supplied scenarios lack AI.

Rating: 9/10

Nice route! I like the amount of detail that this route has and it comes with a Class 377 unit which is nicely made. The scenarios are variable as while most are fairly straightforward. Some of them are very challenging and will test your skills. However to fully benefit from this route, I would recommend getting the Class 442 Gatwick Express and the Class 319 First Capital Connect train packs. Better still, I would recommend getting the Commuter Europe Collection as you will also get a Class 421 to play with on this route as well.

Overall Rating: 9/10.

The rating for the route only based on fun factor and the detail.

London to Brighton is probably one of the best simple routes ever created for RSC. Its a simple point to point route with multple station stops and diversions, important icons along the way, and high speed running. If you buy the bundle, the A4 pack is included, a bit odd for the Southern Region, but steam is steam. Also included is the Southern 4CIG, so you can have even more options to run. I ran trains on this line multiple times, and every time its enjoyable. The Steam Workshop has so many scenarios you can download to run on this. Get this for your inventory, its well worth it.

The route (at first at least) has been ridiculously unstable to use for scenario editing, and speaking of scenarios, can become a nightmare to make given its lack of portals to use.

But, living beside the mainline myself, it feels a rather homely route to drive on, and one of my favourite. For driving, I'll always seem to return to it.

To me, my pros and cons for this route are separated partly by whether you make scenarios for this route, or just drive them.

L2B is a Love/Hate thing for me, its diabolically optimised, unstable in editor and has a number of corners cut and obvious bugs that have been ignored for years ... However I still love it and I still get good use out of it two years after purchase. dont get me wrong L2B is an addiction. If you want to stock it properly will cost you dearly. If you are interested in Blue or Sector eras Bringing the route up to prototypicality will cost you well over £200 in first and third party DLC. L2B will cost less if you want to use the route in its modern guise but stock is poorly catered for so you may find yourself somewhat limited. ... The route is well catered for in workshop especially if you have invested in stock.

Cons -
*poor optimisation
*chronic lack of portals
*Very unstable in editor, it crashed a lot but there are workarounds if you dont mind delving into the core files
*massive joined up thinking fails, little things like the missing scenic detail at Hove station kill a whole load of operation possibilites.
*Some inexplicable routing bugs
*randomly unresponsive platform markers
*The suicidal zombie pooped pants passengers problem is an epidemic on this route.

Pros - *it just is, trust me buy it and see for yourself

Still one of my top ten favorite routes, London to Brighton is awesome and worth every penny, imagine what it would have been like if some care, attention and joined-up thinking had gone into its development.

This route was my first route I ever played when I buyed Train Simulator 2013. Now, I got South London to Brighton and South London and Thameslink to unlock the scenary in Hove.

The Class 375 and 450 is unusable for official scenarios unless in the Steam Workshop or Free Roam. You can have Class 375 scenarios if buying the South London Network and one for free roam called "The Queen Vic" (Located at P2 at London Victoria) but there are no official scenarios for the 375 in the London Faversham High Speed also) and the Class 450 for Portsmouth Direct Line. There are more scenarios if you buy the FCC Class 377 (It is simular to the Southern Class 377 but unfortunately, costs an extra £11.99 for the FCC livery [In present, it runs in Thameslink livery. if you want the Thameslink livery, it could be in UKRouteDesigns which also has the 377 Ex-Southern Thameslink] Also, this has 3 offical scenarios). The Class 442 also has 3 extra scenarios for the route but again, the Class 442 has been messed up with SWT passenger view and other problems with it. The Class 319 has 2 Tutorials and 2 scenarios, but, a minor problem is the TSO coach is in the wrong way and horn is completely wrong. I still recommend this even, if I travel on it (on a Southern 377) every year (London Victoria to Bognor Regis and back to London Victoria). As the Class 450 is unusable in scenarios, it is proposed as AI only.

But at first when buying TS2013 after exploring the L2B, I really want to make a scenario but it was unstable to use but I unlocked it luckily. (My first train on which is the Class 377 EMU Southern which I driven on this route.)

Yes, I recommend this route but if you don't have this and the DLCs on 'Commuter Europe Collection' and 'Class A4 Pacifics Collection', you should buy those to get savin' money!

GOAT route. With or without the new S. London network extension, it's ridiculously enjoyable and easy, with speed limits around 80-90mph for the most of it, and the feature of a short 50-mile, high-use route. I'd recommend it with the other Southern/Thameslink/SWT train DLCs when they're on sale.
