This game is an action-filled, ♥♥♥♥ing delight. My right index finger hurts more than any intense weekend filled with crazy, competitive Diablo II.

Noitu Love 2 is an extremely fast-paced arcade beat-em-up—god-fighter—robot-destroyer platforming game. This ♥♥♥♥ing game is so good you'll want to kiss a swan. These controls are so freaking tight—the precision makes for amazing combat.

Wonderful action platformer with a really innotative control scheme. I was sceptical about using mouse controls for a 2D action game but they work really well.

Highly reccommended.

If ever there were a love letter written to 1990's era Treasure, Noitu Love 2 is it. Frantic, fast, furious, and fun. It can take a bit to come to grips with the unique control scheme, but once you've spent some time in the tutorial and gotten mastery of a few stages under your belt, you'll be up to speed and zip around the screen causing all manners of chaos.

The game features an incredible amount of variety packed into its arcade length. There's no shortage of stage gimmicks and unique fodder enemies to pound away on, and how could you forget the positively over-the-top boss encounters, which will push your dexterity to the limit and require a good bit of thought to truly best.

Noitu Love's difficulty is also balanced very well. Each of the game's difficulties suits a range of player skill levels, and advancing to a higher difficulty level doesn't only make enemies hit harder, they also have a few new tricks up their sleeve which keep things fresh and interesting. It's far from punishing like a lot of 2D platformers and action games these days tend to be, but you will be tested and failure only leads to more learning.

Add a couple unlockable playable characters with some fun stage variations between them on top and you've got an amazingly solid little package just eager for lovers of frantic old-school games to take hold of and enjoy.

HOLY CRAP! This game is everything that I've been looking for! It's kind of like Gunstar Heroes....and I don't want to say it's better, but it does things differently and it is on par with that glorious masterpeice. 10/10 would recommend to ANYONE. If you have ANY doubts about this game, I can assure you can't go wrong!

Noitu Love 2: Devolution is a great game in my opinion. It is created by Joakim Sandberg, whose art in this game you might recognise from various WayForward titles such as the Shantae games. The art is really well done and adds a lot to the game and certainly makes it unique - you should really look around as you play, there's a lot of great background art also.

As for the gameplay, it's very unique and fast paced. It primarily specializes in melee combat, which you control with the mouse cursor and can grapple onto most enemies and switch between them to quickly chain combos together. This can lead to a lot of fun and variation in the combat and this shines in bosses - most of which encourage you to use new techniques and will the levels leading up to the bosses will slowly introduce you to new mechanics. However this isn't always good because some of these mechanics (such as on Level 4) are only used for that level specifically and are sadly not present from that point onwards, which is a shame as it would switch up the combat, which I thought could have been quite interesting to see.

I personally didn't think that the music in the game was anything special, but by no means is it bad (however I did think that it was a bit boring and repetitive at times). The game reminds me of a lot of games by Treasure (creators of Gunstar Heroes, Alien Soldier, etc.) in many ways and those of you who enjoy those sort of games should definitely give this game a go.

Unfortunately the screen resolution can be something of a problem depending on your native resolution, as the game doesn't come with an automatic screen setting that will adjust the screen to what size your monitor is as best it can (present in games such as VVVVVV), but it does come with many options. Personally I couldn't stand it on fullscreen mode as my monitor is 1360x768 natively and part of the screen on the top and bottom were cut out. I had to play the game in windowed mode and even then some of the screen at the bottom was missing as it was in my taskbar. This led to me sometimes clicking on the dekstop as the game is mouse based for combat and doesn't restrict the mouse to that window. This wasn't much of a problem if you don't have any other windows open underneath the game's window.

Other than a few problems, this game is very good and I highly recommend it if you want a decent platformer that has a lot of replay value, speedrunning, and much more. As a side-note, if you want to play the first game you can get it absolutely free from the developer's website. It's not necessary to play it first but I'd recommend playing it at some point! Here's a link, have fun with both games, and I hope that this review has helped you! :) http://www.konjak.org/index.php?folder=4&file=7

fast intense action with unique controls, gorgeous grafics, catchy soundtrack, tons of fun and wacky boss fights. What else can you ask from an action platformer? Great throwback to games made by Treasure (Alien Soldier, Gunstar Heroes and Dynamite Headdy). 10/10

Imagine you spent your entire day playing Gunstar Heroes. You go to sleep and dream of a game that looks like Gunstar Heroes, but has mouse and keyboard based controls. Also the game is considerably more sexualized than its source material, as dreams so frequently are.

That game you dreamt of is called Noitu Love 2: Devolution.

BONUS: My girlfriend asked if I downloaded an H-game when she saw the title screen.

Feels like Mega Man, but as a button masher. I expect there's more strategy later on, but it didn't keep me interested long enough to see.

Suffers from poor graphical options - either stretches to your screen aspect ratio or plays as a borderless always-on-top window. Controls aren't bad, but I would have appreciated an option for 'space to jump' rather than using up.

This is a fun game. I'm bad at giving things numeric ratings, so I'll just go over my thoughts on the most likely reason people wouldn't want to buy this game. For the most part they're pulled from the negative reviews (which are all relatively ostracized and 'unhelpful', suggesting these people are in the vast minority. Then again, that's also because a lot of them are quite ineloquent).

So without further ado, things people may gripe about related to buying/playing this game:

"The game is too short"
It took me about 1.5 hours to beat the game without caring about taking damage or getting a good score on normal. If you don't care about beating it on hard or if your motto is 'D stands for Diploma' then chances are you may think the game is 'too short' although I'd argue that it's still a better time/money ratio than going to a movie.

"All you do is click on things"
This is something of a 2D-action beat-em-up where you jump around, enemies show up, and sometimes (but not always) you have to kill a certain number of enemies before being able to scroll the screen. A key mechanic is that, if you're hovering over an enemy, clicking the mouse will jump/drag/move your character to the enemy. That in combination with the fact that rapid-clicking will result in pretty quick basic attacks that will destroy most normal enemies.

This is not to say that you still don't have to move left and right. Add to that the fact that ducking is also required on more than one occasion, means that anyone who says 'all you have to do is click on things' is clearly exagerating, which is one of the reasons why no-one likes them (er, 'finds them helpful').

In reality, you have 4 keys for move/jump/duck and can perform special moves by double clicking up/left/right or holding the right mouse button and swiping. Aside from further invalidating the afforementioned argument, this also provides a fun way to move faster than walking/jumping speed, which is always welcomed.

Basically, yes, on normal you COULD beat MOST of the game with only the right arrow and the left mouse button, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you're never using specials then, well, I don't know why you would do that.

"It's too easy"
*shrug* I'll admit, I didn't die that much on normal and I didn't spend too much time paying attention to boss patterns or trying to avoid hits or etc. That being said, I did die a few times and I got the lowest letter ranking on every level. Getting an A (I assume? maybe higher?) rank would, probably, take at least some effort to achieve. Also, I tried to play level 1 with the same carefree attitude on hard and managed to die without too much trouble, but I probably wouldn't have if I would have been taking it slower.

"It's boring"
Watch the trailer. That's the game. If you think that's boring then don't buy the game. Not every game is for everyone, but I seriously don't understand this argument once you see what you're getting yourself in to.

"The art style is [insert criticism]"
*Shrug* I think it's fine, but my first system was a Genesis so I'm no stranger to pixels. I think the art in the game is great, but I wasn't playing full screen. Really though, just see the above comment and replace 'that's boring' with 'that represents a sub-par art-style' and I think we're good.

"Rawr I made a complaint about the game and you didn't include mine, I hate you"
Um... my bad, maybe your complaint should be more logical ;-). If you think your complaint is logical, please just leave a comment or, y'know, don't bother me and go away :-D.

A great game in a past age before indies were the big thing and gameplay was all that mattered. One of the best games by Konjak it is a fun 2D sidescrolling beat-em-up with a unique fighting style of combining both the mouse for targetting and movement with the keyboard. A completely skill based game with unique enemies and memorable bosses. More fun than most of the games it is competiting against. Click the more like this to find other games like this and you will find that the value for this game is much higher than others which cost 3x more and have a similar value.

Get this game, could not recommend it enough a game from an era where indies were struggling to hit it big. Help the iconoclasts finally come out to the world as the demo was simply put better than most finish games in its incomplete state.

This is a great example of bringing action sidescrollers of the past to the PC without clunky controls.
