"Still one of the best platformers on PC, Rayman should need very little introduction. Colourful, creative and always brings a smile."

Rayman, Globox, and the Teensies gain unique abilities as they progress through the adventure, including swimming, diving and the sensational “HairlyCopter.” The game also features many elements of action, adventure, and beat-’em-up gameplay.
  • Epic Boss Fights: A giant pink monster with hundreds of eyes... A possessed, mountainous golem... An evil daisy-cum-carnivorous plant...Rayman Origins will put players to the test with these and many more challenging boss battles!
  • A Handful of Highly Talented Artists and Engineers: Rayman Origins was developed by the UBIart team in Montpellier and is built on an open-source game engine - the UBIart Framework - designed by Michel Ancel to allow much smaller teams of artists and developers to produce incredibly high-quality graphics and gameplay quickly and efficiently. Rayman Origins lives up to its name. After all, who thought the times of great exploits were already long history of Rayman, who has well wrong. Even if he was satisfied in recent years with small guest roles in the Raving Rabbids, he could never give up the Adventurer life completely.
Apart from that, this is a pixel perfect port of an inspired and downright wonderful platformer. Rayman features and ashamed competition with its visual design. The creativity that makes rinsed through every square inch of the canvas Mario feel like a stage adaptation of a washing machine manual.
In addition, Rayman Origins is comfortable in its two dimensions, where the only concession to the third subtle parallax. It's hysterical original Sonic levels in Sonic Generations feel insecure and incoherent.

The very first thing you notice when firing up Origins, is its stunning presentation. The opening cutscene does more than just set the stage for the loose and light story that Rayman and Friends save the Glade of Dreams from the invasion nightmares looks set.
It also sets a tone for the entire experience, skillfully demonstrate the elements of rhythm, the touch all aspects of the game. Everything from the crisp / vivid graphics at the start / complex music merges together to create a complete experience that is better than the sum of its parts.

All levels are united by a deceptively simple goal: collect the small number of Electoons. Some will be hidden in areas that others won by collecting the hundreds of yellow Lums.
Many of them are easy to reach, others fly from bubbling platforms of both rewards and guide functions. King Lums an air of urgency and demand precision, double the value of other Lums you collect for a short time. Skull coins are worth 25 Lums and require the most nimble fingers and sharpest eye. To beat a level, you do not need to collect every Lum, but it is so tight, would you consider starting again if you miss one.

Rayman Origins is a deceptively challenging game. Although it is out starts simply enough, the difficulty curve moves at a constant, gradual recovery. Later levels twisted death traps with swinging radial saws equipped, spike-covered monsters, and crashing lightning storms.
But none of it ever feels cheap; you are always in control and the feeling of stinging through this artfully placed hazards makes for an extremely rewarding experience.
You must never about having to repeat entire levels over and over again, either the game's generous use of checkpoints, take care, thanks. The difficulty is - tangible and threatening - but there is nothing artificial about it.
Even after you've completed the objectives necessary to finish the story, there are still considerable challenges for you to tackle.
Revisiting stages allows you to attempt speed run goals and each world features a forced scrolling stage, unlocked only after you've attained sufficient Electoons, which in turn opens up the secret

Ubisoft has indisputably crafted a delightful, playful, occasionally exhilarating platformer.
Its a great experience and anybody with a love for 2D platform games will feel the same.

Score: 86 / 100

Play this game through to the end, and you will find yourself slowly driven mad as you realise the game's level design is actually a sinister ploy to make you lose your grip, over and over, in your attempt to reach the exit. It might start out with a hand on your shoulder and some encouraging words to help you along, but before you know it you find yourself thrown off the metaphorical cliff as you reset the same stage for the twentieth time in order to bypass the same obstacle, while the game gives you a patronizing pat on the back and asks if you don't want to just give up already.

Pretty game, the visuals are a work of art, but the level designers were a band of sadistic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s beyond compare.

Gorgeous hand drawn animation and fantasic gameplay. On the difficult side, but game has a forgiving setup where you can help a younger player through the more difficult sections of a level. Love some good old school 2-d platforming, and this game is probably the best in this particular genre. I give it a thumbs up!

Been a fan of the Rayman franchise since childhood, I've even bought the Rabbids games but very thankful its back to its roots. Big fan of 2D platformers and this is one of the best.

If you like a difficult platformer this is for you. Level designers were truly sadistic and want you to lose your mind. Might be the single greatest test for someones dexterity and twitch reflexes.

Beautiful design as usual from Michel Ancel. Visually pleasing would me an understatement. Wish it would have had a better more fleshed out story. Even one as bare bones as the original would have been nice.

If you like Mario, you'll like rayman orgins. Also, not having to deal with lives makes things nice. Especially when it gets kinda challenging.

This game is great, I ♥♥♥♥ing love it. The grathics are beautiful, the platforming is fun, and its one of those games that even though something really frustrating is happening, you still love every single moment of it. Some of the music is a bit lacking, but its a amazing game. best $10.00 i ever spent. Also, fairies give you boners, so why not.

Nice Rayman game, as usual. The gameplay is great and the graphics too. I enjoyed the fact that the game does not want to be serious and is very fun from the beginning till the very end.

The graphics are great & gameplay spot on foe a 2D platformer.

It's paticularly good for families as there are no limits on lives, so younger kids can tag along for the whole level (even if they're dying a whole lot.

For those looking for a good platforming challenge, look no further. I only played one Rayman game before, on the GBA and found it too dificult to finish. That wasn't the story here. This game's pacing feels right and you'll get through most of the levels as it gives you enough time to get used to the new moves you acquire. Rayman controls a bit slippery, but is still up to the task for every level. This game is also very nice to look at, very colorful and animated. Compared to some recent Mario games, Rayman Origins has loads of charm and personality.

Rayman was an infamous character mascot who brought Life to the Playstation and sega saturn, And it's sequal Rayman 2 the great escape did the same, Except it never happened on Saturn It happened On N64 then On the 3DS in 2011 Which was the worst port made According to some fans of rayman, So years came after we seen Rayman Appear OTHER THAN THOSE FREAKING RABBIDS SOMEHOW ENDING UP GETTING MORE AND MORE GAMES, but in 2011 (i think) A game called Rayman Origins Came into play AND WE ALL ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!! It's like A 2d platformer Except HAND DRAWN which was amazing, The controlls are decent enough And the music is enjoyable Especially The Gourmet level

Overall i think i give this game An

8.7/10 great

It deserves more love though

I have been playing way too many crappy games lately, and I'm so glad that this broke the cycle. It's safe to say this is my second favourite platform game now. Let's talk about that.

So in Rayman Origins, you play as Rayman(Or another character you earn.), and go around saving the princesses or something like that; story isn't too important here.

Gameplay wise, RO isn't a revolutionary game to the genre at all; instead, it does a few simple things, and it does them well. There are several "worlds" with several levels each. During these levels, you collect the equivelency of coins to get extra medals at the end to unlock other levels that unlock other stuff. Each world has it's own gimmick that it uses a lot. In the water world, you swim around, in the air world you fly everywhere, etc...

The gameplay is very fast-paced and very rewarding. This game will never make you frustrated, but it is still very challenging. But there is one problem, in that the pace really slows down in the water world. I love running around smoothly in an awesome world, but the water world is so super slow. It's my least favourite world for sure.

GRAPHICS!!! My my, where do I start. They're georgous. I don't know if they're hand drawn, but I would assume so. I beileve the game is rendred in 2D, but it sure looks 3D with all the paralax scrolling. (Which is surprisingly not killing my 2.2Ghz CPU.) All the animations, like all of them, for everything, is smooth. No clipping, no random misplaced transitions, etc... All and all quite awesome graphics!

The music is great, very comedic and funny. Mixes up jazz with wierd child-friendly noises. The music is so unique, in fact, that if I heard it anywhere, I would know where it's from.

As for the PC port, it's great. Solid 60FPS with my 128mb vram, and very rarely drops below 30. The options menu isn't stellar, but has everything you could possibly need. Volume sliders, resolution and fullscreen, and key mapping. (Even for gamepad!!)

I think for $10, it's hard to find a reason not to pick up this gem of a game. Great example of how videogames are, in fact, art.

This is THE most fun I've had with a game. Ever. I love it to death.

The gameplay is simple, creative, diverse and surprisingly challenging at times - but never frustratingly so.
The characters are witty and charming and always put a smile on my face.
The animation and graphics are gorgeous and inspired.
And the soundtrack is... well... music to my ears :p

My first playthrough clocked in at 30 hours, and I've played through it again since :)

This is my first Rayman game so I don't know how it compares, but I am so getting the sequel!

Get it! Right now!
