You need to be a fan of this type of game to enjoy it. I bought this game because I enjoy trying different things in gaming, but i never really got into this one. For the price however, I can't really complain. I would have paid more going to a movie.

The game is easily the most graphically advanced entry in the series to date and boasts a visceral

soundtrack that accompanies the on-screen action. eXceed 3rd Jade Penetrate Black Package may fall short of reaching the standards set by its predecessor, but it's still a game well worth playing. At the price tag of 5.99€, there aren't many reasons not to take eXceed for a spin.

I had a bet for 50€ that the Soundtrack was made from S.S.H., since I'm a huge fan of his work and you simply notice the way he playes his songs.

Won that bet because it really was from S.S.H.
Still wish to meet him sometimes. I love his tracks.

Ahhhhh well the game. It is aweosme as per usual. Who doesn't like the old fashion Bullet Hell Shooter?

eXceed 3rd - Jade Penetrate Black Package: 13/10
+1: For the Characters, the End Boss and the entire Story
+2: Obviously for the Soundtrack from S.S.H.

You need a new layer of sweat on your gamepad? This is the game for you. With all good graphics and a well crafted arcade soundtrack, the third part is definitely the best part of the eXceed series.

Playing these games chronologically was a mistake.

This game blows the other two out of the water, it's that amazing. I might even dedicate the time to 1'cc this on normal.

I'm going to buy the soundtrack once it goes on sale.

While the sexualized anime girls with annoyingly high pitched voices might turn you down, fear not! You can disable dialogues and voice acting! If you're into that, though, it's a plus I guess!

That aside, this is an AMAZING shmup. The killer soundtrack blends with the patterns so well that you'll feel like melting in this fantastic shmup experience. The difficulty settings are nicely balanced, by that I mean easy is easy, normal is normal and hard is hard ("Well isn't that obvious, dorkbag?" you might think, but have you played Gundeadligne in the second or third difficulty setting? I won't even bring up the fourth, but try it if you think you have guts).

The gameplay is very simple, compared to the last eXceed game, that was Ikaruga with anime girls. This one is Touhou with anime girls... Or with different anime girls, rather. The simple mechanics are exactly the same (bomb, focus, bomb reset on death) except you get only one character, that gets to do more damage with up to 5 options you collect through the game. Also, the 1ups are given when you collect a given number of items that the enemies drop, and you don't get a lot of 1ups either!

The pixelated graphics are well done, the ships you fight have a thrilling design and even more thrilling bullet patterns. But the game gets distorted in fullscreen, at least on my screen, so I stick with windowed mode.

I can't help but be mesmerized with this game's soundtrack; It's fast and heavy, industrial kind of rock with killer drums, keyboard, every instrument involved! If you're an OSU! player, you probably heard of this music called "Intersect Thunderbolt". It's from this game! You can buy this game's soundtrack at the publisher NyuMedia's website, if I'm not wrong.

Overall, it's a great shmup. Check it out!

I begrudgingly recommend this game in spite of its flaws. It isn't incompetently made and you'll likely have fun with it, I just can't help but think about how much better other Danmaku games are compared to this.

For instance, there is no indicator at the bottom of the screen that tracks the boss's movement so you can focus on avoiding bullets while still dealing damage. Something that I thought was an integral part of all Danmaku experiences.

In terms of content, it seems lacking in that too. Only one playable character with a pretty boring and basic playstyle? Compare that to any one of the Touhou games with its many playable characters and interesting attack options.

I'm not impressed by the music either. Get this on sale if you must, but you'd do better to hold out for when the Touhou games eventually make their way to Steam.

I hate fun so I buy these bullet hell to torment myself with and drown in sprays of bullets because they're super fast and I deserve to die for playing these.
It's like Touhou or Ikaruga. those are like Space Invaders, except the screen is made of bullets and tears are streaming down your face because you keep dying because there are so many bullets.
The patterns are pretty.

Super fun bullet hell game. Also super short. I played it twice on easy in an hour. It has some great training wheels (autobomb and show hit box) that still lets you get the crazy bullet experience while feeling like you are a god of reflexes. 5 levels, 4 difficulties, lots of replay value. GREAT soundtrack.

I'd say that this is a must buy for every danmaku fan that has a Steam account.
The gameplay is fun and challenging, the graphics are pretty good too and the music is absolutely fantastic.
I'd say that it's a 8.5/10, at least it is for me.

And it's cheap, so if you like the Touhou series, Ikaruga, Deathsmiles or even DoDonPachi you won't get disappointed.

The third (and so far final) game in the eXceed series, Jade Penetrate Black Package is 100% fan service. From the outrageous number of bullets that fill the screen, to the cute girls wearing compromising clothing, it knows what it is and who it's targeted to, and that is actually a good thing.

Opting to refine not redefine it's basic gameplay, eXceed 3rd ditches the 2nd game's color swapping mechanic in favor of simple raw shoot-em-up action. There is some depth to be found in utilizing a lock on move that cuts down your movement speed, but generally speaking you'll be holding down the shoot button and just trying to stay alive through the torrent of blue and read particles blowing up around you.

Despite being simpler than its immediate predecessor, this is easily the most enjoyable and satisfying of the series. The overly dramatic story proves unintentionally hilarious, the graphics 16-bit eye candy, and the soundtrack once again setting the bar for games in this genre (really, it's incredible). The one downside is that it's quite short even for a bullet-hell game, but given the high difficulty even on easy, there's the potential for lots of replayability as you improve and take on the higher levels.

If you've enjoyed either of the prior eXceed games, or just like bullet-hell shooters in general you can't go wrong with Jade. This is the culmination of everything the developer has worked toward with the eXceed games, and as far as I'm concerned the best of the lot. It might be traditional in design, and perhaps even exploitative in nature, but taken for what it is I'd find it hard not to recommend it for fans. Because again that's what it is: pure unadulterated fan service of the best kind!

what you can expect:
6 stages with fitting music( mostly heavy metal)
6 bosses and some sub bosses each with their own awesome attack patterns
homing shots and destrucable homing lasers if enough ( don't how there are called)are gathered.
4 different diffculties
screen will get very very shiny because the bullets in the later difficulties, it won't prevent you from playing.

Rate it for all shmup advanced players to complete shmup masochists.^^

PS: note that this game is NOT the orginal you can see on yt as jade penetrate. But I still recommend it to buy it, as it is very similiar. it is not as hard as the orginal but still worth it.
