"The most polished entry in the series, 3rd feels and sounds more like Mushihime-sama than Touhou. Faster paced and stands as excellent in its genre."

whoever came up with an idea for dark fantasy really ♥♥♥♥ing hates humanity
"how about we make a spell that covers the entire screen in incredibly fast spinning bullets in the gayest pattern imaginable and then the second you get the boss to 25% health we just send a huge wall of bullets that cannot be dodged? PERFECT!"

The third one in the Exceed series called "Jade Penetrate Black Package" is no different than the other former games. I'd say this one is slighty better but simply not my kind of game.

I didn't play the game much yet, but I guess I'll give it a review already.
In short, the game feels like a major stepback in series compared to the previous installment.

Abandondment of the mode system removed probably the most prominent and exciting feature.
While the graphics was somewhat enhanced, and bullet patterns became more complex and interesting, I simply can not feel the hitbox. Boss fights are way too long. The music is not looped properly; it would end the track fading it into silence then start it again, which feels disturbing.

I vote 'No' because I think the game should be about having fun, and I didn't really have fun with this game. May be later, when I find it in myself to play more, I will like the game more, than I'll change my opinion, but as of now, I don't really like this game. I took it as a part of the bundle, so I don't regret it, but I probably wouldn't buy it by itself.

6/10 BTW.

what you can expect:
6 stages with fitting music( mostly heavy metal)
6 bosses and some sub bosses each with their own awesome attack patterns
homing shots and destrucable homing lasers if enough ( don't how there are called)are gathered.
4 different diffculties
screen will get very very shiny because the bullets in the later difficulties, it won't prevent you from playing.

Rate it for all shmup advanced players to complete shmup masochists.^^

Unlike "eXceed - Gun Bullet Children", this game is worth reccomending. A challenging bullet-hell shmup with good audio and visual element. And hard as hell. And there is even translation for story mode!

Much better than the previous games in the series.

This is a solid bullet hell shooter with some interesting bullet patterns and flashy visuals.

I'd say that this is a must buy for every danmaku fan that has a Steam account.
The gameplay is fun and challenging, the graphics are pretty good too and the music is absolutely fantastic.
I'd say that it's a 8.5/10, at least it is for me.

And it's cheap, so if you like the Touhou series, Ikaruga, Deathsmiles or even DoDonPachi you won't get disappointed.

eXceed3rd: Jade Penetrate Black Package is a “shoot 'em up” or “bullet hell” shooter. It is short, difficult, and very intense. There is a surprising amount of required skill hidden beneath its simple appearance, making it fun to replay and aim for better scores. The blood-pumping metal soundtrack is great! eXceed 3rd is a fine choice for both newcomers and fans of the genre; just be sure to look up a tutorial for how to play the game properly.

Absolutely love this game. The storyline is allright, but I highly recommend starting this game on the highest difficulty, which is Hard.

There are some cons though, difficulties are actually not any easier when you play them on a lower difficulties. This game is not as hardcore as Touhou, so if you expect insane level difficulty like Touhou, you may be disappointed.

The good side is that if you are new to these types of games, there's an Autobomb and Autoslow which triggers bombs or slow the game down to help you if your life is totally on the line. I have only gotten to see autobomb a few times because I kept dying at an intense area.

Players will go through the trouble to try to fix the game so it runs at 60 FPS and not 30 FPS. You want 60 FPS because the speed of the bullets move depending on your FPS.

9.5 out of 10.
