“this is the ultimate group game”
8/10 – Eurogamer
“The goal of D&D Online: Stormreach was to recreate the heady thrill of a well-sculpted dungeon crawl in mom's basement, and to that end, Turbine has succeeded beyond expectations.”

I downloaded DDO on here just to write this I use to love this game played since lv cap was 12 (around 05-06) played this game for years its was amazing. However slowly they have really made a mess of it and this is how. First they came out with F2P alot of players left because of this but I stuck around, It didnt seem to hurt the game much. Then they came out with the under dark which was amazing finally I thought we have Forgotten Realms (Figured game was on the right track). However they then made the shard exchange which killed plat in the game and soon if you had the money in RL you could buy all sorts of lv upgrades and other BS and you need the shards to upgrade airships (so fork out the money or get left behind) The game became a big money sink they got way to greedy. I would not doubt if I have over 10k hrs on this game at one point I had 18-20 maxed toons many being multi TR's but I just can not bring myself to play it the last few updates seem like junk, the develpers are greedy and the have carebeared so much stuff in the game its instant gratefaction now instead of work to do something and open up new areas, gear and such. I wish they would fix it but at this time I feel it is hopeless.

I absolutely love this game, but it a lot more fun with at least one other person of similar time investment.

+you can play through 90% of content solo or with one other player. You can increase the difficulty (and rewards) with additional people.
+instances mean no kill stealing or reward hogging, so much better than open-world click-fests.
+omg, the character building. there's so much fun to be had putting together a character of 10+ races and 12 classes, and you can mix up to 3 classes on each character. Self-healing combat wizard with trapping ability? Sure.
+traps and secret doors abound. you'll miss a bit of this if you zerg through (see below), but it's a lot of fun to work through for the first few times per instance.
+while content has been recycled rather than created, the character options are coninuing to grow, especially for melees.
+you get an incredible amount of game for $9.99 a month.

-it's so old and desperate for players that easy mode is a lot of places: guild buffs, hirelings, and some pay-to-win options.
-power creep was inevitable, but it can be pretty absurd at times comparing similarly-leveled characters of newer plyers and vets; as a result, most content is sped through at its highest difficulty in pugs, and it can be difficult for newer players to contribute or even keep up.

10/10. Dungeons & Dragons Online® is a marvelous MMORPG. It has many details about it that make it much different from many other games like it. These things also really bring out the DND aspect of it and make it feel a bit like you're actually playing an old pen and paper RPG. This to me makes an addicting and definitely replayable MMO

Finding an old friend. From days of y'or, when D&D was a three book boxed set. Graph paper and pencils (professional drafting pencils) were only limited by imagination in quests and adventure.
Now, I can enjoy most of my geeky teen memories without completely covering the dining room table with figureines, dice and papers. It's good to be the king!

Best MMo i have ever played
has a great combat system and a simple and fluid stat system that is easy to calculate
DLC does need to go on sale though because that ♥♥♥♥ is way over priced

This translates the game into a video game well enough. If you came to this for an exact clone of the game then you will be, perhaps, disapointed. But overall it is a fun game that gets the spirit of D&D quite nicely. Though there isn't a wide selection of races/classes you can customise your character very well, effectivly making it unique. The gameplay is fun as it translates what the experiance of combat would actually be like. A great game.

Really decent game, good people on it. Main drawback is that certain features are pay-only, but that's true of any FTP game. All in all, 8/10 if you like hack-n-slash RPGs.

It was good at first. Then it all went downhill once the second expansion came out.
It hurts me to play it, because I realize how alive and good it once was.
Doesn't help that the content-purchase system here is much more greedy than in LotRO. At least the content was reasonably priced there and you could get Turbine Points rather easily...
I've played since 2011, quitting for a while after each time I true reincarnated. The content is enjoyable at first, but can get repetitive quickly, especially if you're on later lives and need more exp. Balance is... out of whack, and has been...
There's more of a focus on soloing now, as many players have quit in the last few years, and most servers are lacking in population, at least from what I've seen. At least the character creation is very extensive. I've always liked that.

Under-populated, un-balanced, un-developed and laggy. Used to be the best but now it's the worst.

It's okay I guess, There's a lot of it that feels like its runescape and it's difficult to level up. I have never heard of Lvl 1 (Rank 7)...

Made a character and joined a server that looked absolutely empty except for the npc guy ( i think ) but I never got to interact with them because I had no option to walk and if I clicked on him, it only turned out to be my attack button. Then the server crashed and the whole game closed. Upon opening the game up again, it turned out my character disappeared and I can't be bothered to make it all over again.

-11/10
