About This Game

Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts have peculiar jobs: They give people another chance to live, all the way from the very beginning... but only in their patients' heads.

Due to the severity of the operation, the new life becomes the last thing the patients remember before drawing their last breath. Thus, the operation is only done to people on their deathbeds, to fulfill what they wish they had done with their lives, but didn’t.

This particular story follows their attempt to fulfill the dream of an elderly man, Johnny. With each step back in time, a new fragment of Johnny's past is revealed. As the two doctors piece together the puzzled events that spanned a life time, they seek to find out just why the frail old man chose his dying wish to be what it is.

And Johnny's last wish is, of course... to go to the moon.

Okay, it's been a while since I've played this game, but let me tell you that if you haven't played this game yet, it's definitely worth it, as long as you know what you're getting.

This game isn't really a game, it's more of a narrative-based walking sim, except from a 2d isometric view rather than first person. However, this game succeeds in being a provocative and emotional story. Think of it as Inception meets Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

The basic premise (minimal spoilers) is that you play as two scientists who are hired to enter the mind of a dying old man, travel back in time (kinda) in order to fulfill his wish, which is to go to the moon. What happens from there is some of the best storytelling in indie video games.

One of my favorite games of all time.. The way the game explains events and characters backwards through memory hops is brilliant. Full of emotion yet still having funny dialogue... A 10/10 in my book!

Very few games have ever gripped me in both story and characters as Too the Moon. Honestly, the music and comedic dialogue immerse the viewer so perfectly that I would say it rivals the likes of games like Fire Emblem: Awakening and Final Fantasy.

Gameplay wise, this is definitely lackluster. the point-and-cick mechanics can feel clunky or inprecise and, at times would get in the way of the story. However. given that it's definitley not the highlight of the game, it can easily be forgiven by how absolutley Gorgeous the story is.

If you're looking for something that will tug at the heartstrings, look no further; you've hit the Jackpot.

This game always pops up on recommendation threads and the positive reviews really glow. I finally decided to buy it on impulse without doing any digging. A quick glance at the negative reviews would have reminded me that no game is for everyone.

I came to this blind with no bias.

This game isn't for me. The story didn't speak to me at all. The humor was juvenile. The characters were "oh-so-quirky" in the worst way. Long, mundane conversations with a lot of filler had me tapping the space bar endlessly. The controls were unreliable and gameplay was tedious. The same environments are revisited again and again, very repetitive. That supposed emotional payoff never arrived for me.

The game is by no means terrible or offensive. It is not bad. But really, a "must-play"...?

I don't get it - I found it to be a very niche story which at times felt aimed at children. Early on I could feel that I was not the intended audience.

My advice would be to watch a playthrough on youtube if you're so curious about it. Plain curiosity is what caused me to buy it. This is the first and last time I buy a game without doing my proper research.

The cheap price makes it an easy impulse buy. It's still not worth it when it was a chore for me to get through and will now sit untouched forever. Plain, I didn't like it.

This is why I typically go straight to the negative reviews (read: a second opinion) before buying a game. That practice has served me very well, which is why I needed to then leave this review. I have given my truthful and coherent opinion, which is all I can do.

Got this game from a friend. But honestly, I'd pay 20$ for it.
It starts off slow, but after about 30 minutes of playtime, you are exposed to the most beautiful, thrilling and exciting story.
It got me to reconnect with some of my long forgotten dreams, and it made me cry. A lot.
The soundtrack is beautiful, and I still listen to it whenever I'm down.

If you finish this game and don't like it, you are dead to me.

Beautiful and Sad. It made me cry in first hour itself. It is worth every bit for the story.

Finished it in one sitting. It will leave you speechless and with tears. One of the most touching stories of all time.

Bravo! Bravo!

Beautiful! Emotionally captivating. Please make more!

Controlls are a bit iffy - I switched between mouse/keyboard and gamepad frequently; Doesnt take away from the experience though.

Slightly clunky controls and occasional glitches are completely overshadowed by the amazing story. I don't think i've been this moved by a game since The Walking Dead S1. It doesn't take very long to complete but feels longer than it's length and can drag at times. The gameplay itself is mediocre rpgmaker type point and click with some arbitrary puzzles placed throughout. This in no way deteriates from the story though, with a steady ramp up to a heart wrenching finale this is one of the best stories i've ever played.

much more like an interactive experience than a typical game.
A very well written and executed story, filled with very dramatic and funny moments, accompanied by an amazing and mesmerizing soundtrack.
An experience not to be missed!
Heartily recommended.

Short steps, deep breath, everything is alright
Chin up, I can't step into the spotlight

She said, "I'm sad," somehow without any words
I just stood there, searching for an answer

When this world is no more
The moon is all we'll see
I'll ask you to fly away with me

Until the stars all fall down
They empty from the sky
But I don't mind

If you're with me, then everything's alright

Why do my words always lose their meaning
What I feel, what I say, there's such a rift between them

He said, "I can't really seem to read you"
I just stood there, never know what I should do

When this world is no more
The moon is all we'll see
I'll ask you to fly away with me

Until the stars all fall down
They empty from the sky
But I don't mind

If you're with me, then everything's alright

If you're with me, then everything's alright
