Other:  So I got this game in a bundle and sat on it for a while. Then I saw the reviews and thought, WTH? I'm glad I did. This is a great, annoying, frustrating, just one more try type of puzzle game.

I wouldn't pay full price for it, not that it's not worth it, but it is fairly often in bundles and when you can get it for under a $1, the fun / $ ratio is amazing.

At the time of this review it was 100% positive in the last 30 days. I so want to down vote it since no game deserves 100%; but I can't, it's just a fun game.

If your not into side scrolling puzzlers, this may not be your game. But it is a play this for 10 minutes and come back for more when you need a break type of game.

What's my issue with it?
1) No demo ... that said I believe ALL games on steam should have a demo.
2) No editor. This could be such a annoyingly fun game with a editor / workshop.

Nice casual game, graphics & controls are smooth, quite short though, around 5..6 hours. Kid absolutely loved being a blob and eating carbage but the difficulty rose very rapidly for her after around 1/4th of the game. For seasoned gamers it's a walk in the park though.

Revenge is a dish best served cold and gelatinous which is why it's so satisfying to roll over everything that has mistreated the titular mutant blob, growing with each new acquisition like a sentient snowball. Conquering an area is followed by a little newscast vignette, showing those yet to be consumed in increasing stages of panic. Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack creates the feeling of playing an old horror movie complete with dust-cracked edges (just like the CRTV you'd have to watch it on). The bonus levels delve further into this 'blast from the past' aesthetic by mimicking older game experiences. The change of play style that the bonus levels offer is also a welcome change of pace from the series of similar set pieces positioned around the very basic goal of growing larger and moving to the right.
The game has a keyboard and mouse control scheme that is more than functional, but clearly it was designed around a console as a controller offers greater precision. Oddly enough, there is still one mechanic that the mouse served better for which makes the ability to switch between the two control schemes on a whim an absolute boon. The point system is similarly flexible as it presents an incentive to be meticulous and thus makes things more difficult without punishing players that choose to take an easier way out. The 'beat my high score' mentality this creates gives the short game some much needed replayability.

Amazing !

You absorb the entire solar system :DDDD

Seriously, I have no complaints, everyone should give it a try

No, I have some because nothing is purfect. You cannot shoot object you absorbed compared to the first game, so there is less enemies cause you can only attack by ground pound or...... if your big enough (insert evil laugh).
The Telekinesis object manipulation was broken for me, I think its my controller, but im not sure. It was moving by itself sometimes. There is no coop like in the first one. There is less blob facial changments than the first too (serious eyes, pain, normal, happy), but that is a small one. I think the big problem is more that there is no keyboard key binding, I heard that playing with the keyboard is just a pain.

Otherwise its:

-Original
-Smooth as ♥♥♥♥
-Cartoon Network visual
-Satisfying

Your shape can be squash to navigate small parts of the levels. The awsome part is that the size of the level change because you change size. So there is clift that will seem large, but when you see it again you will be able to easily jump over it. You can also use magnet power to attract things or attract you to those things + reverse the magnet. Puzzles mixed with platforming.

8.4/10 - An Expertly Crafted Puzzle Platformer And Alot More!!

You are a blob from space that has escaped captivity; now you must squeeze down pipes, flatten into creveces and ultimately eat everything in your path. When you eat everything you will become larger and be able to conquer obsticles that once seemed impossible. Nothing can stop the blob!

There's not too much to dislike about this game! It has a great balance with levels, puzzles, mini games and well done humorous cut scenes. This game is a platformer but should be characterized as more since it brings so many well crafted elements together.

Worth the full $8, but I've seen this cheap often. Once on sale consider checking this one out!

Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is a short platforming puzzle game where you run around each level eating items growing bigger and stronger to overcome large obstacles that block your way. The art, sound and music are all very well done and all the areas and levels are vastly different. Your blob also gets some different abilites later in the game and some new mechanics get introduced to help vary the puzzles and the levels quite a bit. This is an awesome platforming puzzle game that's a lot of fun!

Ah, this game, one of my first games on steam, but, nostalgia won't interfere with an honest review.
Tales From Space...yeah, I'm not gonna say the whole title, I'll just use TFS, is a platformer game made by DrinkBoxStudios, in it you control a Blob, who, after seeing the other blobs experimented on, escapes and decides to absorb everything.

One of the interesting mechanics of this game is your size, to progress, you need to be large enough to eat corks blocking your path, you do this by absorbing objects that you CAN absorb at your current size, and this may let you become large enough to absorb bigger objects. This setup sometimes encourages you to explore, and sometimes you may have to solve a small puzzle to get stuff to absorb.

This game does have challenges though, you may have to avoid being hit by Army helicopters or tanks, or you may have to precariously avoid spikes, or you may sometimes have to outrun lasers, while performing other tasks, such as collecting objects to absorb or rotating something to pass.

Another mechanic are the powers, you can have Rocket Boosts, which offer air mobility, sometimes to collect out of reach items or escape a laser. You also have magnetism, which helps you attach to surfaces and avoid obstacles. Then you have telekenesis, which let's you open up paths, move objects, or launch yourself.

The music in this game kinda gave me a Rayman Origins feel at times, I have no idea why, but it was enjoyable to listen to. The graphics vary in style, one minute, you can go from an 80's/90's style to a pixellated style.

The game overall is kinda short, even if you try to get all the achievements and 100% the game. This game overall gets a 9/10, the only part that could be improved is making the game a bit longer.

A simple yet very well made platformer.
Your character is a blob that after seeing its friends being experimented on breaks free and takes revenge by continually absorbing objects smaller than itself, starting small and working up to people, cars, cities, the Earth and even are Sun (yesh).
With a good mix of unique challenges along the way, themed mini games & funny little cinematic the story is fun and really draws you in.
This game could easily be enjoyed by any age, but a little patience will be required to gold rate all levels, but it was a pleasure to go back and lay the ones I didn't get on my first run.

Would definitely recommend this brilliant little game. 9/10

An enjoyable platformer. Quite similar to Gish and a bit like Osmos, you play a blob whose job is to absorb smaller objects in order to get large enough to get to the end of the level. Nothing that incredible or stand out, but it's all pretty well implemented stuff. It's not too tough so pretty good light-hearted fun throughout.

REVIEW
Mutant Blobs Attack is a fun little puzzle-platformer that’s very light in both the puzzle and platforming departments. It boils down to a short-but-sweet casual experience that will entertain, slightly challenge, and not frustrate.

The game is extremely light-hearted and is very casual. The levels are pretty short and simple. That being said, I really enjoyed the level design in this game: you have to pay attention but you don’t really have to think. It’s a nice experience: it mildly challenges (mostly only if you’re going for the gold medals), has plenty of checkpoints, and there are no overly frustrating parts. As someone who prefers casual games to frustrating ones; I can say I really enjoyed this. If you are someone who enjoys punishment from their games, you may want to look elsewhere.

There is no real story or anything, but it doesn’t need a story. There are a few catoon-esque cutscenes. The cartoonish art style and the music are a perfect match to the gameplay. The platforming was smooth for me; I used a controller and was never frustrated with controls/response. It is a short game, and is pretty easy to 100%. As you progress, there are a handful of platforming mechanics that are mixed around to keep thinks interesting.

To surmise: Mutant Blobs Attack is a casual platformer with mild puzzle aspects and a cartoon finish. A short-medium length game that is pretty easy, yet very entertaining.

A new twist on Katamari. Not nessasarily timed, but there will be times when you need to run. Consume and grow to that you can take revenge on those who would do experiments on you. Use your wits to solve puzzles and get to the end of level as quickly and a big as possible if you want leader board bragging rights. Great short game, 8/10

Nice casual collectathon platformer. Contains platforming challenges, puzzles, secrets.

There are multiple interesting mechanics: eat things smaller than you to grow, attract and detract from things, control some mechanisms with telekinesis.
There are also parts where you use a jetpack instead. And some relaxed top-down levels.

The presentation is pretty nice and comical. Loaded with puns and game references.

Gish meets Katamari? Mutant Blobs Attack is a simple puzzle platformer where you eat stuff to get bigger so you can eat bigger stuff in order to progress through the short levels. The gameplay is fun, the controls are intuitive, it's mildly challenging in certain spots, and there's kind of a story thrown in as well. It's satisfying for at least one play through, maybe more if you want to go achievement hunting.

A cute, simple platformer that's enjoyable for all ages. You are a blob who eats what is smaller than you. As you eat you grow meaning that you eventually can eat just about everything you see. The levels are well designed and the art style, music and sounds all work perfectly for a fun experience. Expect a bit of a challenge if you plan to get all gold and unlock all achievements, but you won't pull your hair out. The gameplay is simple, and slowly new additions to the gameplay are unveiled as you progress in the forgetful but entertaining storyline. You will learn how to wall jump, how to use your telekinesis powers to move levers and slide platforms, and how to use magnets that attract and push you away.

Nothing hugely groundbreaking at all, but there's nothing wrong with taking a known to work recipe and splashing with a fresh coat of paint for you to enjoy. Definitely recommend, especially if you are playing with kids.

I am not sure whether the other reviews that claim this game only offers one hour of gameplay are talking about an earlier version with fewer levels. I have been playing for three hours and I haven't finished yet. The difficulty is extremely well judged and there very few locations I have had to start more than three times (but it never felt too easy either). After I finish it, I will definitely replay it aiming for 100% completion.

Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack (or TFS: MBA, as all the cool kids call it) is a pretty straightforward game. You control a blob, I don't think he, she or it is given a name at any point, but for the purposes of this review I shall call him Steve... Steve DeBlob. Though as far as I know he isn't any relation to the blob from De Blob, that platforming, paint-'em-up classic, though I could be wrong. Instead, Steve DeBlob is a translucent, green blob with one eye who rolls through various 2D environments overcoming obstacles and gathering up ever bigger items to increase his size as he exacts his revenge against his human captors, and ultimately humanity as a whole. Sort of like a cross between Katamari Damacy, the underrated Puddle and that movie where the guy goes mental and kills everybody... you know the one I mean, right?

Both the platforming and puzzles are fairly easy affairs to begin with, maybe even a little tedious in their initial simplicity, but the difficulty level is judged almost perfectly as it ramps up at a steady and satisfying pace over the twenty-four levels. New elements of gameplay are gradually added to the mix, like the ability to move select platforms around with the cursor or being able to attract and repel Mr. DeBlob from certain structures, which nicely expands the range and complexity of puzzles that are thrown at you. But still, with little punishment for failure and a very forgiving checkpoint system, the majority of players won't be massively challenged for the most part, except maybe if you're a completionist intent on collecting everything, unlocking achievements or troubling the leaderboards, and depending on which of these players you are you'll likely make your way to the end in about four to six hours.

Bonus kudos has to go to the end game, though. Most of the time your reward for completing a game will be a fancy cutscene wrapping up the story, but here it's done a little differently. There are six chapters to tackle, with the first five incrementally increasing in difficulty, but by the sixth it shifts gears and becomes much easier while focusing everything on a different aspect rather than challenge... FUN. By the beginning of chapter six you've more or less beaten the game since you've made your way through the hardest parts and have essentially become a badass that can just stomp and roll your way through the stages with relatively little effort. So instead of having to endure one final, ultimate obstacle to prove your mastery of the game, your reward in place of a cutscene is to enjoy your power as you decimate everything in your path. It's a great way to end your time with any title and I really wish more games would follow this design, especially with the very last stage being a particularly great pay-off for all your work, and with the cherry on top being the sweet asking price, there's little excuse to not go and make friends with Steve DeBlob right now.

Mutant Blobs Attack is a super addictive collect-a-thon. The art and music is nice, the gameplay changes up mechanics to keep things interesting and the controlls feel really smooth and precise. Overall it's a highly recommended game that hooks you in straight away.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from 'Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack' when it was first recommended to me. All I was told was 'it's a short 3-4 hour game, just sit back, play it and tell me what you think'. So here is what I think!

It IS a short 3-4 hour game, and I'm fine with that as it's the perfect length and really helps keep the game's charm alive. What this game is is a fun platform/puzzle game that has more internet references and meta-memes than ♥♥♥♥♥ and Reddit. It's pleasing art style and audio presentation only help maintain the charm that this game has. I realise I've mentioned the word 'Charm' twice within the same paragraph, and I guess that's the overal feeling towards this game. It's charming.

It manages to hook it's way into you and before you know you've finished the game, laughed at the various Pop/Cult References you've seen and come away feeling like you need to tell other people to 'just sit back, play it and tell me what you think'.
