PROS:
-The music just turrrns me on. For real though, this game's soundtrack is outstanding. The perfect background for skating around and defacing public property.

-Sweet graphics. The cel-shading makes it hold up incredibly well.

-It feels really satisfying when you can get some speed going and land some tricks.

CONS:
-Though the art-style is great, the textures themselves are a bit lacking. It's most noticeable with some characters faces (looking at you, Officer Onishima). Considering this was a Dreamcast game, I'll give it a pass.

-The controls can feel a bit clunky. It takes some time to get used to them.

-Took some tinkering to get it to work on Windows 10

-a ripoff of lucio from overwatch wow sega get some original ideas

4.5/5

plz release jet set radio future so i can understand the concept of love

Growing up on JSRF brought my attention to this when the SEGA pack was released for free, I've played a few hours, enough to give a solid review of this anyway.

TL;DR I recommend it with a controller, basically impossible otherwise. OST is always killer, and I'm glad I could play the previous game in the Jet Set Series.

Pros:
+ OST: First and foremost probably the biggest mention and the top thing about this game, if you don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the game go and listen to this on Spotify anyway.
+ Artstyle: It looks dated, but this is a port from the SEGA Dreamcast. Setting is a cyberpunk Tokyo-esque vibe, graffiti, young punks on roller blades.
+ Story: Unique experience with a colorful cast, each character has their differences but they're not terribly noticable,

Cons:
- Controller basically a requirement, they're not terribly expensive but still an inconvenience.
- 30 FPS, I personally am not a stickler for these sorts of things but for those that are
- Dated, this game looks incredibly dated, boxy characters, clunky animations.
- Controls, even on a controller the controls feel funny, I often do things I don't intend to do, grinding is weird, sometimes you just grind the ground if theirs a rail on it, sometimes you don't.
- Difficulty, now I can't believe I ACTUALLY put this in but in addition to the controls some things have a ridiculous skillcap to them. To unlock some of the skaters you have follow their trick pattern, or beat them in a race. It can be extremely frustrating, especially since the races don't exactly give you the best idea of where to go, so you generally do it once, get so far behind the bot waits for you, catch up, try to follow their path, lose. Try again and find a shortcut (I believe every race has several shortcuts if you can find them) and then beat them to the objective.

Summary: All in all, you definitely feel the games date. It's controls are funny, it looks a little old, it definitely feels a little old. However if you are a fan of Jet Set Radio Future, like quirky, and almost silly looking characters, appreciate Electronic Dance OST's, or appreciate Future Tokyo Dystopian settings I feel like this is the game for you.

The sequel is better.

I think. Decided to buy this out of nostalgia for it's sequel, a game that I haven't played since maybe when I was 10 years old? I figured that the original would be similar, but nope. Way too tutorial heavy, and not the kind of fast-paced sandbox that I remember that the sequel has. Characters move pretty slow, and my computer can't be the blame here.

One of my other nostalgic games, Jade Empire, has way better graphics than this, so it's like the game's fault. But since this was only like $6, I won't really refund it, and will just keep it in the library with the other games I abandon.

Really wish Steam had the sequel for sale.

One of the best games from Sega and one of my all-time favorites. The graphics are colorful, aesthetically matching the grafitti theme, and the soundtrack is superb.
The PC port is nicely done and I recommend playing it with a controller.

Jet Set Radio was an amazing game for its time. but imho the controls were clunky and the camera angles were a little off. The graphics although decent could have been done better considering that its a PC port.Still though the game ran smoothly on my Rig.Get this game if you were a fan of the Jet Set Series for the dreamcast and Xbox. For New players get this on sale instead.

6/10

Note:Keeping my fingers crossed that Sega will release Jet Set Radio Future for the PC

this game is super awesome, it's possible to play with a keyboard but is best with a controller. The music is some of the best I've heard in any game ever honestly and though it can be frustrating at times and a few level layouts are annoying, I highly recommend this game.
