One of my personal favorite games of all time. While I don't have that many hours on the game on steam, I can't tell you how many hours I spent on the dreamcast with this game when it was simply known as Jet Grind Radio. The only flaws I can find with this game are that the controls are a bit slippery and the "allign camera" trigger is set to the grafitti trigger and there's no way to turn it off as far as I know. What I mean by this is that when you are trying to grafitti an area (I use Left Trigger) but you're not close enough, the camera will switch to behind your character. This gets in the way of a lot of the boss fights and is a major annoyance that I really don't understand from a game design perspective. Other than that the game is a masterpiece and way ahead of its time. Great Characters, A Godlike Soundtrack (one of the best in video game history), Amazing Levels, Quotable Lines, and Visuals you could see from a Gorillaz music video, only 3-D and cell-shaded beautifully.

SEGA GIVE US JET SET RADIO FUTURE HD

pros: good music, visuals that aged very well, very good voice acting, fast and fun gameplay.

cons: controls like ♥♥♥, getting stunned if you look at an enemy or wall wrong is super annoying, enemies are always on your ♥♥♥ so doing one of the game's core mechanics is annoying (spray painting).

i would recommend this game, but with the warning that you will be frustraited a fair amount of times.

REALLY SEGA ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!?!? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU MADE THIS? OR IF YOU EVEN MADE THIS. THIS GAME LOOKS LIKE A BETA OF WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE GAME WE ALL KNOW AND LOVED BEFORE (JETSET RADIO FUTURE). THIS GAME IS COMPLETE TRASH AND ITS WAY SLOWER PACE. I CANT EVEN TELL YOU HOW BAD THIS GAME IS COMPARED TO THE OTHER DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, THE ONLY THING I LIKE ABOUT THIS GAME IS THE MUSIC BRINGS BACK THE OLD MEMORIES BUT THIS GAME JUST MADE ME CRINGE. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS GAME HAS "MOSTLY POSITIVE VIEWS" DID YOU EVEN TRY? I RATHER PLAY SONIC DX.

I've owned this game since it came out on the Dreamcast, as well as its sequel/reboot when it came out on Xbox. Despite that, I've never grown tired of it. The controls are a little janky at first (it was originally a Sega Dreamcast game, and by golly you darn whippersnappers probably don't even know what that is), but going through the tutorial helps, or you can just play the game and see what happens.
The soundtrack is sick! (if you don't like outdated slango then you probably won't like this game)
The graffiti is really quality, with actual popular artists (from the times) contributing to the game.
The cel-shading is out of the world. I don't recall if it's the first to cel-shade, but I know it definitely can be considered a pioneer of cel-shading, and it wasn't again til Wind Waker that we found a mainstream title that used the cartoonish style.
This game is only $8 at the time of writing this, and I've paid anywhere from $5-40 for this game since its release (Dreamcast, 360, PS3, Dreamcast again, Vita, PC), I would say it's absolutely worth $8

Now throw this baby in your cart, and Let Mom Sleep!

I think my childhood is making me love this game more than I should. Controls are a little wonky and arent the best, but its a port over of an original xbox game so what do you expect? If you can get it on sale buy it. Otherwise just wait.

pros -
- one of the best & most recognizable soundtracks in video games
- cel-shaded graphics have held up very well to modern standards
- plenty of endgame content, good achievements
- gameplay is really fun and novel once you get a hang of it
- certain mechanics (optional vs. required graffiti areas) make it to where gameplay difficulty can scale pretty easily
- the port itself is pretty good and bug-free, for the most part
- story takes a major turn after chapter 1, in a good way

cons -
- there is an extreme learning curve in terms of controls
- some aspects of the game are poorly balanced. hit box size on rails and buildings vary in a really irrational way and some levels are stupid difficult due to level design. (it is ridiculous how much more difficult the noise tank tag battle is compared to later tag battles. it's the very first one that the player completes but it is by far the dumbest level in the entire game.)
