Holy hell, this is one well-executed game. Just two hours into it, and man, oh man. It is freaking amazing. I know I should have gone further into the game before reviewing it, but I couldn't resist; the game is that good; and the beginning of the game was pretty awesome. Dishonored is I guess what you may call a 'sneak-type' game. Hitman? Assassin's Creed? I've never heard of them... And for the record, Corvo would grease Ezio, Sam Fisher, Solid Snake, and Agent 47 without them ever knowing what hit 'em... Who knows, maybe he could even lead the Dark Brotherhood of Tamriel. I've noticed a lot of people have taken this joke a little too seriously... Well, that's not all I have to say, so, on to this review.
Gameplay: Dishonored is a stealth action-adventure video game played from a first-person perspective with an emphasis on stealth action and the use of special equipment and the environment to eliminate opposing forces. The world is a series of self-contained, mission-focused areas designed for various avenues of exploration in terms of scavenging loot, or seeking new powers. Between missions, the game takes place in a central hub called the Hound Pits pub where the player character, Corvo, can meet with his allies, receive mission briefings and alternate objectives, and convert recovered loot into new equipment and upgrades. Dishonored also features a few role-playing game elements, though not much. Whether it's make moral choices with a focus on non-linear consequences, or enhance your supernatural powers.
Story: The game takes place in the industrial city of Dunwall, where the game's protagonist, Corvo Attano, the former bodyguard to Dunwall's Empress, Jessamine Kaldwin, has returned from a long, foreign journey to seek the cure to a deadly rat-involved plague ravaging the city. After an incident, Corvo is taken to prison for interrogation regarding to the situation. Six months later, Corvo receives a letter from an unknown force and with their aid, he escapes. With their help, now he seeks revenge as their former assassin to help find a lost girl kidnapped from Dunwall's assassinated Empress, and restore order by killing the Dunwall city's traitor. I must have you confused on some points in this summary, but that's intentional, as I don't want to spoil it for you.
Pros:
+Great presentation values.
+Do you like to stab people? Maybe use a crossbow to ensure their demise? You have your own personal arsenal at your disposal. Almost every screenshot I have of Dishonored is of me killing people in the most brutal ways. But hey, if you wanna talk about stabbing, read this:

+Wide selection of decisions.
+Different tactics are rewarded.
+Great soundtrack.
+Great upgrade abilities.
+Various, spacious environments riddled with pathways and secrets.
+Openness of the levels' designs. But with the role-play elements, this game's world could have been more open.
+Freedom to be creative within combat.
+AMAZING combat design.
+Great controls.
+Good graphics, the Unreal Engine has never looked better for a 2012 game.
Cons:
-A Somewhat short game.
-System requirements are small, but somewhat demanding.
-Stilted voice-acting. The voice-acting... some of it is meh; though I've heard of MUCH WORSE in other games.
-Options menu. If there's something I hate in video-games, it's lack of several options, as with the Metro games. Of course, this regards to just the graphic settings menu, nothing else.
-Occasional AI and physics glitches. Rarely happens, but when it does, you'll laugh. Once, I threw a grenade and two guards looked at it while walking up to it saying "That's probably worth checking out" only to discover it was their death.
-Steep difficulty can be discouraging sometimes. Sure, you can change the difficulty any time, but this game is somewhat hard if you make some mistake, like being spotted; even ONE enemy is enough for you to meet your demise, as they'll bring you
EV-ERRYEEE-ONNE!! And yes, this skit is from one of Angry Joe's videos just so you know.
-Stealth option gets trumped by action gameplay.
Overall, this game is amazing. 9/10, easily the best stealth game there could ever be besides the original Hitman and Thief games. Whoever the hell hates this game should be gnawed alive to death by a swarm of rats whilist Ave Maria plays at their demise before their souls rots in the Void.
