About This Game

Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to take the role of an insurgent fighter with the newly re-established Red Faction movement as they battle for liberation from the oppressive Earth Defense Force. Red Faction: Guerrilla re-defines the limits of destruction-based game-play with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.

Key features

  • Open World Guerrilla Warfare — You decide who, when, where and how to battle. Utilize guerrilla tactics, improvised weaponry, and modified vehicles to lead insurgent attacks on EDF targets. Launch attacks based on your own gameplay style, take on missions in any order you choose, or engage in destructive activities to weaken the EDF's grip on Mars.
  • Strategic Destruction — Use destruction to your tactical advantage, setting ambushes or chain reaction explosions to attack enemy strongholds and permanently modify the game environment. Leverage fully-dynamic physics-based destruction to improvise on the fly: blow holes in a wall or floor to set an ambush or escape, take out a staircase to stop your pursuers, or drive vehicles through blown out walls.
  • Evolving & Emergent Gameplay — Carve your path through an ever changing landscape as you improvise your combat tactics - mixing gameplay styles, vehicles, weapons and explosives to defeat the EDF.
  • Epic Sci-Fi Setting — Explore the huge, unforgiving Martian landscape, from the desolate mining outpost of Parker to the gleaming EDF capital city of Eos; then tear through the fully destructible open-world environments swarming with EDF forces, Red Faction resistance fighters, and the downtrodden settlers caught in the cross-fire.
  • Multiplayer Combat — There is no place to hide when you put your guerrilla warfare skills to the test in a variety of highly destructive multiplayer combat modes.

GTA Mars is a fun game where Alex Mason is put up against some kind of stormtroopers.

The destruction is plain groundbreaking.

I love Mr.Bay this game is perfect. Explosions, wrecking things, what Ever. If this game had parkour and gorillas it would make it perfect.

Red Faction Guerrilla is Blow Stuff Up: The Game.

You can destroy everything. And I mean everything. There are literally like two buildings in the entire map that you can't blow up, and it's only because they're integral to the plot or a mission element. Everything else is at your mercy. You can decide, at absolutely any time in the game, to punch a hole in the nearest wall with a supercharged sledgehammer. And I think that's really the essence of RF:G. You have absolute and complete freedom with the environment you're put in.
It's a true sandbox; there is nothing you can't put a few explosives on and demolish when the mood takes you. It's never the case such as in other games, where there's occasional missions to sabotage things and the rest of the time it's like "LOLNOPE, THIS WOODEN SHACK IS INDESTRUCTABLE, RAM AS MANY CARS INTO IT AS YOU WANT LOLOLOLOLOLOLO" It's never that.

The game never cuts you off with the mission focus, either. The entirety of Red Faction Guerrilla is built around the mechanic of destructable environments. What do you do in missions? You sabotage enemy bases, or demolish buildings to cover the Faction's tracks, or ram a car into this, or fire a thermobaric rocket at this big hydrogen tank thing. How do you unlock new missions? You smash the f*ck out of enemy bases to lower enemy control over the sector, and raise morale. And with the variety of it all, and the many methods of nuking an EDF outpost, and being able to dismantle every single piece of a checkpoint until nothing is left; it's just intoxicating.
Not to mention: THERE ARE CHEATS. You can be an invincible super-badass and propel cars with melee attacks into buildings and run super fast and and and---

Even in the moments where you're not giving Martian architects the finger, the game remains solid, and combat is enjoyable and challenging. It's never a case of running in like Superman and obliterating an entire army with your bare fists; you have to find yourself some cover and demolish the enemy's; choose the right weapons for the right situations, and be accurate. Ammo conservation is a big part of fighting EDF soldiers, so spraying plasma bullets everywhere isn't going to earn you victory. Story's pretty nice, too, but it's more just to support the gameplay; the main attraction is the explosions and destruction.

TL;DR: Breaking things is fun. This game is all about breaking things, so this game is fun, and you should buy it.

Oddly enough, one of my favorite games of all time, right up there with MGS3 and TF2.
I played the ♥♥♥♥ outta it on XBAX.

It's great, some people find it boring but I don't.

+The destruction engine is the best I've ever seen.
+Great Soundtrack
+Fun combat
+The game is oddly easy to get immersed in.
+Runs well on this PC version even on my specs.
