Acerca deste jogo

Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to take the role of an insurgent fighter with the newly re-established Red Faction movement as they battle for liberation from the oppressive Earth Defense Force. Red Faction: Guerrilla re-defines the limits of destruction-based game-play with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.

Key features

  • Open World Guerrilla Warfare — You decide who, when, where and how to battle. Utilize guerrilla tactics, improvised weaponry, and modified vehicles to lead insurgent attacks on EDF targets. Launch attacks based on your own gameplay style, take on missions in any order you choose, or engage in destructive activities to weaken the EDF's grip on Mars.
  • Strategic Destruction — Use destruction to your tactical advantage, setting ambushes or chain reaction explosions to attack enemy strongholds and permanently modify the game environment. Leverage fully-dynamic physics-based destruction to improvise on the fly: blow holes in a wall or floor to set an ambush or escape, take out a staircase to stop your pursuers, or drive vehicles through blown out walls.
  • Evolving & Emergent Gameplay — Carve your path through an ever changing landscape as you improvise your combat tactics - mixing gameplay styles, vehicles, weapons and explosives to defeat the EDF.
  • Epic Sci-Fi Setting — Explore the huge, unforgiving Martian landscape, from the desolate mining outpost of Parker to the gleaming EDF capital city of Eos; then tear through the fully destructible open-world environments swarming with EDF forces, Red Faction resistance fighters, and the downtrodden settlers caught in the cross-fire.
  • Multiplayer Combat — There is no place to hide when you put your guerrilla warfare skills to the test in a variety of highly destructive multiplayer combat modes.

Graficamente o jogo cumpre todas as expetativas.

A very nice sci-fi sandbox experience, now optimized and without GFWL.

Red Faction Guerrilla's physical destruction engine is truly a fascinating thing. It's like a GTA-lite where you can drive THROUGH buildings. Or walk through them in a huge industrial mech. Or plant lots of explosive charges, detonate them and watch the whole thing collapse. Or just bring it down manually with a hammer :)

With the recent updates (still open beta, but working flawlessly) the game was massively optimized, running at full 60fps without much trouble. It also ditched GFWL, and the developers even included a savegame migration tool to transfer your old GFWL save to Steam Cloud.

Finally, we get the definite version of this game- one that shows how it was meant to look, feel and be played.

Steamworks is here, the great tyrant GFWL is dead and gone! A round of applause is in order for Nordic Games for reviving this wonderful game. Now, on with the review.

Red Faction: Guerrilla is an insanely fun game, let's get that out of the way right now. The open world nature combined with the destructable nature of almost every structure in the game makes for one of the most enjoyable, destructive romps you'll ever have in a game. While you play through the story mode you'll have a wealth of options for how to deal with objectives, many of which involve the destruction of key buildings. Perhaps you'd like to get up close and personal with your hammer, maybe you'd rather hop in a truck and send it flying through the side of a building or you might just hail it with rockets from afar, all of which are perfectly viable options.

Even if you don't wish to go through the campaign it's likely you'll find enjoyment in one of the two other gametypes:

Wrecking Crew - A Solo or Local co-op gamemode with leaderboard integration where you seek to do as much damage to the buildings in a give map with different caveats depending on the mode which are:
  • Total Chaos - Doing as much damge as possible in one minute with unlimited ammo.
  • Behemoth - Using one of three Walker (mech) types to do as much damage as possible in a limited time.
  • Challange - Completing level-specific challanges.
  • Escalation - You have a limited amount of time and ammo, each round both increase.
  • Barrel Dash - Destroying as many explosive barrels as you can within the time limit.
  • Rampage - Deal as much damage as possible with a three minute timelimit, each shot or swing of your weapon takes a set amount of time away.

Internet Game - Go head-to-head with other players in a variet of gamemodes, such as:
  • Anarchy / Team Anarchy - Your basic Deathmatch mode.
  • Bagman / Team Bagman - Hold the bag and gain points.
  • Capture the flag - Exactly what it says on the tin.
  • Siege - Defend / Attack gamemode where the key is to destroy specific structures.
  • Damage Control - Fight to capture the three points.
  • Demolition - Protect the Destroyer, the only person who can damage buildings as they go around and destroy as much as they can.

TL:DR -
The Pros
  • New Direct X11 support, improved stability, better experience over all thanks to Nordic.
  • New steamwork intergration, including Matchmaking and achievements.
  • Strong openworld campaign with plenty to keep you busy.
  • A host of other activities beyond the campaign that provide many hours of fun.
  • You can load up a truck with remote mines, send it flying into the side of a building and then detonate it. Awesome.

The Cons
  • Known technical issues, check the forums and such to see if it'll have any issues with your setup. Many of these are being fixed by Nordic currently, it would seem. Still, it's good to make sure.
  • While the campaign is fun and story is perfectly acceptable, anyone looking for a great narrative might find it lacking.

I know it does not make much sense to review a title that's already older than your grandma but i HAD to say this:

YOU CAN FINISH THE WHOLE GAME BY DESTROYING EVERYTHING WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER!

How can this not be an awesome game?!

I can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone working in the retail or having to deal with customers one way or the other. Had another dumb one? GO SMASH A HOUSE TO PIECES! Aaaahhh...how relaxing.

Again supported an apple-fangirl that is too observationally challenged to get a stupid blackberry to phone someone? GO SMASH A COMPLETE TOWN INTO TINY PIECES! Aaahhhh...that's it!

Have to install this at work too!

Red Faction: Guerilla is all about getting revenge for your brother's death by destroying every piece of infrastructure on Mars. Armed with the Thor's hammer Mjolnir, you set out on a journey to smash and blow up everything the Earth Defense Force has built on Mars while destroying your own safehouses in the process for fun.

8/10 story sucks but no one cares.

Finishe Red Faction: Guerrilla on Casual difficulty, took me around 10-12 hours, and I unlocked 13 out of 50 achievements.

A damn good game, while the story doesn't do much to inspire a whole lot of interest, the gameplay and destruction carry the game and make it into something special, it embodies everyones desire to blow things up and cause mayhem, while watching the thing you destroyed crumble infront of you in a surprisingly realistic way. With the recent Steamworks patch, there's no greater time to jump into Red Faction: Guerrilla and have a fun, destructive, albiet slightly bare gameplay experience.

+Destruction, destruction, destruction
+Gameplay is enhanced by the need to think strategically about how to approach a situation with the games destruction engine
+Cool and unique weapons, that enhance the destruction
+Did I say the destruction was awesome? Because it is, by far the star of the game

-Story is typical sci-fi, rebellion, unneccesary love interest stuff you see in every made for TV SyFy movie
-Enemies can be annoying to fight, sometimes you just want to drive around and hit stuff with a hammer without a squad of EDF goons shooting at you.
-Kind of flat in the open world department, it has side stuff, but nothing super intersing and the world seems built just to be blow up, with weird empty archtecture and barren areas with little to no civilians.

Overall it's a great game that deserves and play just for the fun of the destruction and the many ways you can lay waste to Mars.

Oh my....the sledgehammer. Quite possibly the greatest weapon shy of the gravity gun from Half Life 2. I can literally play this game from start to finish with just the sledgehammer. Ok, almost....

Great sandbox game featuring over 100 side missions; however, little incentive to do more than about 45. You get rewards for doing "X" amount of missions, but after so many there are no more rewards. And it's easy to drop the EDF control in other ways so you dont have to rely on doing these missions to drop EDF control to 0.

Been a fan of the RF series since it's inception, and this game brought it to new heights. Great physics, great weapons, soon rid of GFWL (YAY!) and decent story.

Brilliant stress reliever. Got problems with Hauser, a rogue agent who thinks he is someone else called "Quaid" screwing up your plans? Smash down some buildings with a hammer. Richter suddenly deciding he can think for himself? Smash stuff down with a hammer? Some little mutant freak stiring up trouble? Smash stuff with a hammer. Now that the foul Games for Windows Live has been purged things just get better and better :)

Of course, I, Vilos Cohaagen do not approve of smashing anything on Mars with a hammer. Especially not my god damn Turbinium mines, but those Earth Defence Force are nothing but trouble and not at all like my enlightened administration.

Of course this game does indulge in fantasy. Air on Mars? Ha! As if!

One of the most underappreciated games of all time. Excellent physics-based environmental combat. Not just from a specatcle standpoint, but from a tactical standpoint too. A fully destructable environment captured with the Geo-Mod engine, weighty vehicular handling inspired greatly by the Warthogs from Halo, and a nice little bit of mech action too. Even when you're just messing around in the sandbox, this game is immensely gratifying.

The old game was already a lot of fun with the whole destructible enviroment thing. There's just something about smashing the whole place up with a sledgehammer. Or crashing it down with 'splozions.

Now that the game's patched up to a Steam Edition, it's great.
Better graphics settings, and the keyboard&mouse controls have improved a LOT compared to the old version. And obviously they've gotten rid of GFWL.

I do get the impression they did make the game easier... Normal mode seems a bit more casual this time around. And I seem to be missing a few of the more annoying missions.
