I haven't really played the game much yet, though so far it seems really fun and has a great sense of humor, but the Developer responded to my bug report within a couple of hours and had a patch that fixed my Linux gamepad problem out within only hours of when I posted the initial issue.

BEST DEVELOPER EVER! (And one that cares about Linux!)

Ever dreamt of playing an 8-bit rendition of Grand Theft Auto/Saints Row?

Retro City Rampage is a very entertaining 8-bit game which fuses famous 80's movies with video game nostalgia.

Set in an open world with alot to do and alot to learn, this is one of those games you can spend hours in without getting bored.

And there is something here for everyone, whether you just want to highjack cars and go postal or play 8-bit Metal Gear Solid inspired levels. You'll never know exactly what to expect. The game itself is based on missions but one mission may have you do classic 2D platforming while the next is a isometric cover-based shooting mission. Repetitive doesn't exactly exist here and it works.

+Lengthy Single-Player Campaign
+Customize your character
+Tons of weapons
+Great sense of humor
+For all gamers, the older you are the more you will understand
+Mod support
+Tons of replayability without mods
+Retro style art, retro style soundtrack

So you see, whether you're a movie buff or you're just a fan of retro games from the NES era or maybe both (?) then you'll enjoy this game. There are alot of hidden easter eggs in this game that 80's babies will pick up on but also plenty of surprises and fun stuff for the modern gamer as well.

Like a love-child of 3 games... GTAV, Stardew Valley and Saturday Morning RPG. If you like any of those, you'll probably love this one.

This game is the NES-style crossover of GTA 2 and some of best NES titles like:
- Super Mario Bros
- Contra
- Smash TV
- Mega Man
- and a lot of other references and easter eggs!

Simple and addictive gameplay, fun missions and crazy plot. Must-play for every 90' games lover!
