About This Game

Fable® is a groundbreaking roleplaying-adventure game from Peter Molyneux, in which your every action determines your skills, appearance, and reputation. Create your life story from childhood to death. Grow from an inexperienced adolescent into the most powerful being in the world. Choose the path of righteousness or dedicate your life to evil. Muscles expand with each feat of strength. Force of will increases with each work of wit. Obesity follows gluttony, and skin tans with exposure to sunlight and bleaches bone-white by moonlight. Earn scars in battle and lines of experience with age. Each person you aid, each flower you crush, and each creature you slay will change this world forever. Fable: Who will you be?

Key Features:

  • Forge a hero based on your actions: Age and evolve a hero or villain through the actions you choose and the path you follow--be it for good, evil, or in-between. Ply the way of the sword, and see your muscles bulge. Weave the dark arts, and witness power crackle at your fingertips. Skulk in the shadows, and watch your skin bleach.
  • Engage in intense real-time combat: Collect battle scars as you duel with a world of cunning foes and deadly creatures. Master an array of deadly weaponry as you hone the art of blade-craft. Hunt your quarry using subterfuge and stealth. Weave death from the elements, as you harness the dark arts of the arcane.
  • Build your living legend: Through deeds and actions, build a name for yourself across the land. Recruit allies and followers. Gain glory or notoriety. Make friends and enemies. Interact with a living world of people, places, and event all reactive to you. Hero or butcher? Who will you be?
  • Explore and shape a living, evolving world: Champion or manipulate an ever-changing land with competitive and cooperative heroes, dynamic weather systems, and deformable environments. Interact with teeming cultures, creatures, and citizens from various towns and cities.
  • Hone your character with scores of unique skills and extras: Master new abilities and add possessions as you develop.
  • Never play the same game twice: Once you finish your adventure, go back and try the experience again, forging your character and thereby a new tale with unexpected twists and turns, new skills, powers, influences, allies and enemies.
  • Expanded content and tones of new choices: Discover additional regions, storylines, and side quests – as well as new optional missions. More spells to master, new armor and weapons, and even new monsters to use them on!

Chicken Kicker for life!

Easily one of the most nostalgic and re-playable games I've ever experienced.
Played it when I was younger, now at 25 I STILL come back to this gem.
I really wish they did a PROPER update/re-master. The Fable Anniversary just didn't work out..

If you haven't played it before - it is worth every cent.

The Golden Classic, despite all the lies that led up to it's release, and the only title worth playing in the entire series. Play this one and none of the others...Besides maybe, Anniversery Edition.

______

+ One the most enjoyable RPGs you could play, combat, art and, music.
+ Strangely the most extensive spells and weapons you'll ever see in the entire series.
+ There's a reason this game was remade several times and the others are forgotten.

______

- Indoor areas force the camera to rap your character's head.
- Age progression is jacked up, I aged over 50 years in less then a month of graduating the Hero's academy.
- Altering the resolution in-game seems to mess with my PC's(W10) actual resolution. Forcing me to restart my PC after every session.

a great game even today. the game works great on pc disc and even on steam. worth the money of "$9.99" on the store page. the best Fable in the series. so good is this game I didn't feel the need to fall into the hype of the remastered version. This game is awesome. kill everything you can, be evil, get horns, get rich, be the self serving hero. Highly recommend this game to anyone and everyone. if you can get it on sale then save a few bucks, if no sale then you'll still get your monies worth.
checkout that thumbsed up symbol I have given it.

First off, this was my first ever Fable game, I went into the series knowing next to nothing other than 'it looked fun'.

I really don't want to rate this game based off graphics or anything along those lines since it is 11 years old as of time of writing, so instead I'm just going to list some of the memorable moments I've had so far (I'll most likely continue to update this review)

+ apparently being bald with mutton chops makes me the most attractive man alive, over 20 women fell in love with me just for walking around town
+ *guard in Shrek's voice* "I'm keeping you under surveillance"
+ Bought a house in a small woodland town, door was locked, tried to lockpick door, guard spotted me and fined me 200 gold.

I played this game once when i was 5, i was an idoit back then and barely completed any quests but it was still fun, now i got this game back, and the nostalgia overdose nearly killed me

pros

+Addicting and fun gameplay

+Facinating lore

+Side quests to keep the game interesting

+Amazing and mysterious soundtrack

+A wide selection of weapons and spells

+And a karma system for more replay value

Cons

-Limited exploration

-Voice acting could be better

-Game gets dull after a few playthroughs

-Not the best AI

-Targeting system kinda sucks so your better off just not using it

-The sequals to the game suck ♥♥♥

Overall i rate this game 8/10 dispite all the cons, its still a really good game, and even though the series didnt age well, THIS single game is a must have, like some people say "first game is best game" well first fable is best fable
