Ich liebe es.
Super Story
Super Grafik + effekte.
Chars bewegen sich wie in Mass Effect 2 etc.
Bei manchen levels ein bissel Snake style. (Schleichen etc)
Mini Rätzel mit freunden lösen. (coop)
Coop an geheime stellen kommen.

Charaktergrafik: Ins Gesicht greifen, rausziehen, zusammenmatschen, wieder rein = Captain Kirk ; Gorn? Was für Gorn? Gorn sind Krokodile - keine MarsEffect-Aliens! (vgl. Garrus)
Story: Na gut... Ich will jetzt nich sagen ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...

It's been a while since this game came out and I can say that I haven't had a problem with it! There was an animation glitch, once, I think. I have gone through the game several times, using different strategies and weapons. The side objectives as well as the acheivements curate to true star trek fans, and the overall gameplay can be entertaining to anyone. The puzzle solving is neat, helps break up the action (or stealth, depending on how you are playing). The multiplayer didn't work for the first week after the game was released, and that is where most (not all) of the negative comments came from, but my wife and I patiently waited, and played through it after that ordeal was worked out with Steam. It envokes the spirit of the new movies, looks fantastic, and gives you some familiar TOS throwbacks as well, like name-drops (Decker?!) and location-hints that Trekkies should listen for. A lot of time and effort was obviously put into this game. Now that it's dropped in price, more people who were iffy about getting it because of the initial negative reviews and outrage over multiplayer, should get this game and see for themselves that: it's actually pretty great.

I played through the campaign in CO-OP with a friend of mine, and enjoyed it. It was worth the $5 admission for each of us, for sure. However, I don't expect to ever go back to it.

PROS:

It's CO-OP
8-10 hour campaign

CONS:

Plenty of glitches, but nothing game-breaking.
The score audio level fluctuates a lot, which makes it hard to enjoy its greatness

Unlike many of the film-to-video-game adaptations "Star Trek - The Video Game" is not exactly the video game version of the 2009 smash hit Star Trek film. While all members of the crew are returning they embark on a different mission. They try to uncover the mysteries behind a so-called Helios device - Vulcans and the Gorn (lizard-like creatures) are both involved. This is one of the reasons I like the game much as it offers a completely new storyline with the returning cast.

All actors have been motion captured and not only does the game provide the same looks but the same people did the voice acting for their characters. The funny dialogues are also returning whether it'd be the laughable accent of Chekov or Mr Scott's techno mumbo-jumbo or just the usual, ceaseless arguments Kirk has with Spock.

I'm sure the game is fun with a coop partner, too, but I completed it in solo only. I picked Kirk and the A.I. accompanied me in the shoes of Spock without fault. Assistance between the players consists of hacking doors or computers together and of course using different weapons in battles can be of great help.

Gameplay is not all about shooting: stealth sequences appear regularly and usually extra XP can be obtained by completing a section this way. These secondary objectives are called commendations and not only them but the many researchable items, audio logs scattered across the environment yield XP that can be used to upgrade weapons and our protagonists' tricorder.

The tricorder can be a great weapon in good hands. Its upgrades allow you to generate noise thereby confusing enemies as to where exactly you are located. You can also jam enemy weapons - this is pretty useful when fighting brutes. Hacking turrets from a distance is also possible with it and once a robot joined your side the outcome of a battle is guaranteed. Also, the tricorder is a must if you want to look for collectibles - only with this device can you spot and activate them. Some of the audio logs are hilarious - my favourite is the one where Bones complains about the life on Star Trek which is full of danger as Kirk always rushes headlong into the next journey.

While graphics are generic they serve their purpose. Our heroes are recognisable and the accompanying sound effects and orchestrated music are exactly the things a Trek fan can expect from such a game. The game can be completed in a mere 10 hours - this is not exactly long but for the missing collectibles, achievements and additional difficulty settings you can always do a 2nd or 3rd playthrough.

While reviews of this game are mixed on Steam I do believe the title is worth the purchase. If 15 euros is too much then wait for a discount so that picking this one up will not be a question.

Great game, especially for fans of the "Star Trek" franchise. It may feel generic or bland to others, but as a "Star Trek" fan, this game felt amazing for me. It includes a great voice cast and has a gameplay style similar to the "Mass Effect" and "Uncharted" franchises. I had already owned this game on PlayStation 3 when I purchased it on here and I felt that it was worth it, to beat it again. Chris Pine leads the cast as the alternate reality Captain James T. Kirk, with the rest of the cast reprising their roles as his crew members. I recommend picking it up, especially on sale, as it is as I write this, for $3.74.

Really fun co-op game. It can be a little clunky at times but it's genuinely fun; lots of great teamwork moments, lots of (fairly) amusing dialogue between the characters and enough upgrades and weapons to keep it interesting.

Its your standard 3rp person shooter with a star trek theme, you take cover and shoot, sometimes you can use stealth.
Its fun when played with a friend in coop, playing solo gets boring fast, the story is decent (if you enjoy the new movies)

There are a lot of glitches in the game, people getting stuck, animations messing up etc, the AI aint that great either.

If you are a fan of star trek you should try it out when its on sale.

Sorry but this has to be the bugiest game I have played in ages, if not forever. Graphics glitch all over the place. Not as though I'm running a low end system. i7 4790k, 16gb ram and a R9 290x, plus damn good motherboard.
The controls have a mind of their own, skits all over the place. Needs serious patching for a crappy console port

I bought this game once upon a time at full price. I was totally enthralled by the movie like many fans. So, uh, it turns out video game adaptations still haven't learned the concept of not being ♥♥♥♥ty games. This is just a spit shine of a pile of massive ♥♥♥♥.

The graphics...meh, look okay. Not to terrible. Just...avoid the texture tearing...the missing textures...the black holes...the...odd missmatch. You'll be fine. Here! Have a tribble!

So, as you can expect from this introduction this game is not the best example of a video game. Its more of a cinematic video game. An interactive experience where you occasionally do on rails crap and eat cheetos. Except for the space battles. Prepare to die.

(I NEED THE NAME OF THE ENGINEER THAT THOUGHT RED LIGHT/GREEN LIGHT SHIELD SYSTEM WAS GENIOUS, I MEAN WHAT PART OF "LETS MAKE OURSELVES VULNERABLE TO ♥♥♥♥!" WAS A GOOD IDEA????)

This entire game plays out like a leaf taken from the Original Series, which is a good thing. The plot is cheesy and baked but familar to those who watched Kirk and Spock in the days of old. This is what it should have been, not a CD-ROM wannabe on rails. It should have been more puzzle-ly and less pew pew and lens flares. Granted the movie was covered in lens flares. But the point I am trying to make is that this is a poor example of a video game.

Pros:

Classic Star Trek Original Series plot. (Baked and cheesy!)

Full of Star Trek references, classic and newer.

Voice acting isn't too terrible.

Cons:

WTF? DID YOU HAVE A QA????? TOO MANY BUGS!!!

Graphics are alright.

Too much rails, very pew pew, such lens flare.

A Star Trek themed rail system with a story plot that makes you feel like yer watching a movie. The game mechanics could use some work, and its buggy in certain spots. But none the less, a good game. The designers take you for a twist with a space theme obsticle course and a fast paced shooter system. A great deal if puchased on a Steam Special, but don't expect taking the Enterprise for a joy ride.

This game plays exactly the same on Console or PC, which is a bit unusual. Even regarding graphic quality, the only noticable difference is load times are shorter on PC.
Aside from that, I really enjoyed this one, gameplay is simple, and just challenging enough to not get tiring. Haven't noticed any major game-crashing bugs, and it runs very smooth on my system. Its a side branch storyline from the first Star Trek reboot movie, and its got many interesting new creatures bouncing around in between the variations of gameplay. A little space battling, a little parasuiting, and for some reason the tricorder data and scanning aspects are loads of fun. This game works flawlessly with an Xbox 360 controller PC on default settings. totally worth the 2.XX$ I paid for it. easily worth 5-10$ though. Havent tried Coop yet, but i hope to one day. Feels like it would change the game up decently.

I went into this with low expectations thinking it was going to be a groaner of game (personally I am a Trekker that loathes and hates the reboot), especially considering official game adaptations or tie-ins are historically epically attrocious. I was actually pleasantly surprised. The game is surprisingly pretty good, with above-average graphics, a well thought out storyline (albeit linear), great voice-acting by the actual actors from the Live-Action movies, and varied environments and gameplay that keeps the main duck-and-cover FPS game from getting tiring. Those who call it "Mass Effect"-like aren't too far from the truth as you could very well call it "Mass Effect Lite" for Star Trek without overly offending Mass Effect fans.

It definitely keeps the pace up, and rather than being a roller coaster ride it is a rocket ride all the way. There is no time for rest as when one emergency is resolved another two immediately arise. It makes Jack Bauer's days look tame by comparison. At end game you are pretty certain that Kirk and Spock are going to sleep for at least three days solid once the credits roll.

As far as the bugs, I didn't encounter a single game-breaking one during an entire play through Solo...they have clearly been patched as the AI Pathing is still as dumb as a box of bricks, but the game now apparently compensates by teleporting them to where they need to be to progress the storyline. More than once my partner would get stuck on environmentals and unable to move, but when I made it to the turbolift they were right alongside me again.

I do agree with other reviewers that the hacking was about as lame as any other game, from Deus Ex: Human Revolution to System Shock 2...but this is nothing unusual in the gaming world and doesn't deserve to be downgraded for it. Despite their mind-numbing simplicity, trying to do them quickly in between guard rounds or while under fire was occassionally challenging.

If you can find it on sale, I suggest giving it a chance.

7/10 - Would save the smokin' hot Vulcan damsel in distress again.
