I bought this game once upon a time at full price. I was totally enthralled by the movie like many fans. So, uh, it turns out video game adaptations still haven't learned the concept of not being ♥♥♥♥ty games. This is just a spit shine of a pile of massive ♥♥♥♥.
The graphics...meh, look okay. Not to terrible. Just...avoid the texture tearing...the missing textures...the black holes...the...odd missmatch. You'll be fine. Here! Have a tribble!
So, as you can expect from this introduction this game is not the best example of a video game. Its more of a cinematic video game. An interactive experience where you occasionally do on rails crap and eat cheetos. Except for the space battles. Prepare to die.
(I NEED THE NAME OF THE ENGINEER THAT THOUGHT RED LIGHT/GREEN LIGHT SHIELD SYSTEM WAS GENIOUS, I MEAN WHAT PART OF "LETS MAKE OURSELVES VULNERABLE TO ♥♥♥♥!" WAS A GOOD IDEA????)
This entire game plays out like a leaf taken from the Original Series, which is a good thing. The plot is cheesy and baked but familar to those who watched Kirk and Spock in the days of old. This is what it should have been, not a CD-ROM wannabe on rails. It should have been more puzzle-ly and less pew pew and lens flares. Granted the movie was covered in lens flares. But the point I am trying to make is that this is a poor example of a video game.
Classic Star Trek Original Series plot. (Baked and cheesy!)
Full of Star Trek references, classic and newer.
Voice acting isn't too terrible.
WTF? DID YOU HAVE A QA????? TOO MANY BUGS!!!
Graphics are alright.
Too much rails, very pew pew, such lens flare.
