Titan Attacks! is a retro, arcade, 2-D shooter where the nameless Commander fends off the Titan invasion with his trusty pixelated tank.

The game commences on Earth then progresses to new zones. Zone progression occurs when its boss is defeated. There are a total of five zones, each containing twenty levels, with their own unique design. Once all five have been defeated, it loops back to Earth, albeit with a slightly higher difficulty.

The game mechanics are fairly straightforward; aim & kill. Fortunately, that doesn’t do Titan Attacks! the justice it deserves. The mechanics conspire in such a way to exude a simple & fun experience. There are a number of boosts & improvements that can be purchased between levels to mitigate your success. For example, there are powerful area-of-effect bombs, weapon add-ons, additional shielding & more. Currency is derived from killing enemies & also capturing them. Capturing enemies adds a unique dimension to some situations, as doing so can be lethally dangerous, but extremely profitable. The Titans have a wide arsenal of ships & weapons that change in function & attitude from zone to zone, which can easily lead to your undoing if not cautious. There are bonus rounds that gauge your accuracy & reward you accordingly so keep nimble. These rounds occur between levels, after every seventh level.

There isn’t really any story, beyond what’s presented visually but that’s really to be expected with an arcade shooter. The sound is also quite typical of the genre, with generally the same music repeated throughout. The graphics while pixelated, are visually appealing, with colors & art that mesh together nicely.

For high score hunters, your high score is saved onto online leaderboards. So you can show off your skills or lack of them to your friends.

Another fantastic looking retro game from Puppygames! It is the 2014 version of the classic game, Space Invaders, where you are the last surviving tank commander defending Earth from alien invasion.

The idea is still same as in 1978. Alien forces slowly approach you, while you bring destruction with your tank and laugh at them. At the same time you collect points and upgrades, which you then use for tank upgrades between levels. Upgrades vary from shields to extra ammo and smart bombs etc. Nothing major or too complex though, just enough to give the old concept a refreshing twist.

It's a great and challenging mini game that pretty much anyone with two working hands and a set of brains can start playing immediately.

Titan Attacks is proof that certain games are timeless and endlessly influential. Titan Attacks is essentially Space Invaders by another name. You take control of a little green orbital defence vehicle and shoot the hell out of steadily descending alien invaders, while at the same time avoiding their bombs and lasers.Titan Attacks looks both retro and modern, with simple graphics befitting a game like this.Unlike Space Invaders, Titan Attacks isn't plodding and deliberate. It's fast-paced and souped-up. You'll see everything it has to offer in only a couple of hours of play, but that's because it moves at such a fast clip. It's a basic game in design and premise with just enough there to keep things interesting, and while it's not even remotely going out on a ledge with new design philosophies, beautiful graphics, or a lengthy campaign, its hook resides in its quaintness. It's unapologetically old-school.

I originally picked up Titan Attacks! because I had a 90% off coupon. I had little to no expectation as far as entertainment value. I’m pleasantly surprised to report that I don’t hate it. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a modern knock off of Space Invaders sprinkled with a pinch of Galaga. Definitely worth a $1.00, maybe $3.00… not $10.00.

I recommend this title… On Sale. 5/10.

I'll start by saying this. "I didn't like space invaders". You can all call it what you will, but I thought it was fun for a quick bas, but nothing more than 30mins before the frustration sets in. Titan attacks is the re-imagined space invaders for the younger generation. After booting it up for the first time, the neon graphics took hold and determination set in to see just how much these developers wanted me to like there game. It has persistent upgrades to aim for, boss fights, different enemy types with differing attacks. It is essentially, it is still space invaders, just with a bit of makeup and sheeps fur. I have now played 10hrs and have fully enjoyed the experience. This coming from somebody who doesn't like space invaders! 8/10

I don't play as many video games as I did 30 years ago when my kids
were growing up. But once in awhile when I have the free time, I like
to play something. Anyway, I was given this game as a gift, and I really
like it. It is a lot like Space Invaders, but with nicer graphics. I like that
I can upgrade the cannon. I would recommend it to anybody who remembers
playing Atari years ago.

This, in my opinion, is a great lunch-break game. I like to load this treasure up when I need a break from my text book. It’s not too addicting, which is great for us students, but it's loads of fun.

I'm sure most of you are deterred by the old-style gameplay that it boasts. I was at first, but the graphics and sound really pop. With the addition of custom upgrades and enhancements it feels like a modern game. It's kept me sane many an All-nighter.

5/5

Ever played Space Invaders? "Yes"

Ever played Asteroids? "Yes"

Ever played a game with POWERUPS? "Yes"

Ever played a game with all of those compiled into one, plus more? "No", I mean, unless you have this game, then why are you reding this?

So, just imagine that.
10/10 would kill parachuters again.
